My group of 3 decided to go here on a last minute decision to find a dine-in restaurant to eat and this lovely place did not dissapoint! We had really friendly servers that regulary checked in on us for any extra orders or needs. It was greatly appreciated! We even had really fun conversations with them, it was actually delightful. The food was absolutely delicious, the sides were all freshly made while the soup was the perfect temp of warmth. The seasoned fried chicken was definitely my favorite because it was so crisp yet juicy.Overall, I can definitely see myself visiting again for the cozy environment and tasty foods!

This place was alright. I got the beef tofu soup. It came with a house salad that was actually really amazing in taste and light. The tofu soup I felt was missing something. Maybe it needed some kimchi in it or something. Plenty of tofu and a bit lacking in meat. Their spice is a bit on the lower side. I normally get a medium at other places but here I could probably go for spicy. Service was a bit... odd? The guy was okay, but it wasn't busy and he had the tendency to start leaving before we even finished talking. Like he was trying to rush us, but telling us 'no rush.' Kind of gave the vibe of can't wait for you if you can't decide right away. Parking: plenty

Great place for a work lunch. It's close by the office and there's never a wait to get seated. Parking is sufficient. (And if you want coffee afterwards, there are convenient options. The service is good. I've always had friendly waitresses and staff. The food is good too! Most recently, we all had the yupgyejang. Warm soup on a chilly day is the wonderful feeling. Try the seafood pancake. A favorite of my team is the tofu soup.I recommend this restaurant. You really can't go wrong with any of the dishes. The only thing to be aware of is that some dishes can be ordered spicy or mild. If you're sensitive to that, just make sure you tell the waitress when you order.

Bon Tofu is a beloved spot for my family and me. It's nice to eat in, but also been great for takeout. The tofu soup is certainly delicious--full of flavor and with the right amount of spice to give you a cozy feeling on a chilly day. We always make sure to order the seafood pancake, which is consistently crispy and filled with delicious fresh seafood. My kids absolutely love the galbi beef - it's so tender and nicely marinated. They just can't get enough of it! I was really impressed by the pork short rib and mackerel--both dishes have such amazing flavors and are a true treat for the taste buds. The staff here is always warm and inviting, although they do appear to be a bit understaffed at times. Just a little heads up, you might need to be a bit patient when dining here. Whether you're in the mood for a satisfying meal or looking to expand your palate.

i usually go to kaju for my soondubu fix but i decided i wanted to try a new place and bon tofu & grill has been sitting in my bookmarks for awhile now so my bf and i decided to try it out on a friday for dinner. we arrived around 6:30pm and it's kind of in a weird secluded location. it's in the plaza where they just opened a dutch bro ut it's a bit off to the side with its own small parking lot. the place itself is pretty small, with around 10 tables or so. they even have bigger tables for those of you who like to go with a bunch of family/friends. we were greeted by the waitresses and got seated immediately upon entering the building. the menu is pretty extensive. they have your typical dishes like soondubu and bibimbap and kbbq, but they also have things like korean fried chicken and honey mayo shrimp which i thought was unique. we ended up ordering a beef soondubu and hot stone pot bibimbap. before our food came out, they gave us a plate of salad which had a really great dressing! which is saying something because i dont typically like salad dressings haha. but i really liked that they give personal salads in addition to the banchan, which came out next. there was a total of 6 different side dishes served: potato salad, cucumber kimchi, kimchi, marinaded bean sprouts, spicy fish cake, and marinaded burdock (?). all of the banchan was good, everything tasted super fresh. the kimchi here is more on the sour side. the potato salad was pretty good here too, with plenty of crunchy apple and celery bits throughout the scoop.the food came out pretty quickly too, maybe in about 15 minutes which is standard. the beef soondubu came out first and my bf thought it was a little on the bland side, compared to other places. there wasn't much beef throughout but plenty of tofu. it also wasn't that spicy for a medium. the hot stone pot bibimbap was also pretty standard. it came with a variety of veggies, beef, and an egg. I felt like the rice was a bit overcooked/wet but luckily i was still able to get a good crisp on most of the rice. i wish they gave a bit more beef, but it was also a little dry so maybe not? lol one of the veggies that they used was kind of bitter too so it made the dish not as enjoyable as it usually is.overall it is a decent place for korean food. it's a good alternative when you dont want to wait a long time for kaju/bcd or you just need to try something new. i still think kaju has the best soondubu but this place has solid banchan and appetizer salad. if i came back i would probably try their other dishes like seafood pancake or honey mayo shrimp, which i hear a lot of people enjoy

I'm so glad I found this hole in the wall family owned Korean restaurant in Fountain Valley. I would always have to drive to Garden Grove when craving for tofu soup and short ribs...but not anymore. It's a really small place with the parents (assuming) are the chef and son is the hostess and waiter. Sometimes there's another person helping the son but you'll find him there everyday.I've order the noodles - Japchae - short ribs, fish marinated with veggies (more traditional dish), bibimpap, and of course the tofu soup (seafood and beef). All was good-no complaints. What I also appreciate was their friendliness. Other Korea restaurants, when you ask for more side dishes or to-go containers, they are super mean...but this place, they offer it when they see your plate are almost empty.

Bon Tofu rates 5 full stars for delicious Korean foods (we enjoy the tasty grilled beef short ribs/Galbi; various tofu soups (i like "white" or non-spicy); boneless Korean fried chicken (soy sauce flavor) and the flavorful, but not overly spicy, banchan (side dishes). Service is welcoming and courteous. But go early to avoid waiting for food because of only 2 servers. Or, order takeout online. Bon Tofu, in Fountain Valley, offers food equal to, and even superior, to many Korean restaurants in Garden Grove's Koreatown.

Not your usual normal Korean tofu places! Everything was great - even the appetizers (fried dumplings not pictured were yummm!) all the dishes we got were very generously portioned - plenty of seafood in each bites of the seafood pancakes, the short ribs were great as usual and of course the tofu soup. Great service as well. It cold get stuffy as the temperature of the day was higher outside... Too bad that I don't live around the neighborhood, but definitely recommend for everyone!
