I recently had the pleasure of visiting Blue Hummingbird Coffee, and I must say, their Hojicha offerings are nothing short of spectacular! Both the dark and light Hojicha drinks showcase the café's commitment to quality and flavor, making for an exceptional tasting experience.Dark Hojicha:The Dark Hojicha is a true delight for those who appreciate deep, roasted flavors. This place has grown on me since working in Irvine. I've only tried the blue hummingbird latte, but it is pretty tasty and I'd say I like it more now than I did the first time I tried it. I wish they opened a bit earlier, but they do open at 7 am which gives me plenty of time to get to work by 7:30. I have seen a small crowd in the mornin at times, but I've been able to order ahead through their website and have been able to avoid the wait.

I was really excited to try this place, but unfortunately, the food was a huge disappointment. When I got home, I opened my burrito and it looked like someone had already taken a bite out of it. That's just not okay. If I could give the food 0 out of 5 stars, I would. The coffee gets 2 out of 5 stars for being semi decent.On the bright side, the service was great! The staff was friendly and welcoming, which I really appreciated.As for the ambiance, it was very plain for a coffee shop. There was no music playing, and the inside had very little seating, which made it feel kind of empty. If they added some background music and a cozier setup, it would be a much better experience.Overall, I wouldn't come back for the food, but the service was nice and the coffee is good.

This place was not easy to find, but I found itin a office complex down south of the Spectrum. There is a small sign on the window and the officeis a L shaped space, which makes it kind of awkwardto find privacy. They offer some mech and their coffee to take home. The attendant was helpful and did describe the coffee choices. I ordered an iced Americano on ice. The coffee was good. The place is very clean and orderly. There are not a lot seats and places to sit and relax, and that is the main reason for the three stars. I took the ground coffee home and found it was good, but lacked the flavor is some other brands. I'm sure if I worked in the area, it would be a favoriteplace to hang out and get coffee.

Blue Hummingbird Coffee is an awesome local coffee shop in Irvine that definitely deserves more attention! This spot is located in a plaza with a good amount of parking spots. Inside, they have about 5-6 tables for seating. For their menu, they have a great selection of different seasonal, signature, coffee, espresso, and tea drinks. They even have pastries, ice cream, and other cool foodie items from other brands for sale as well. Wifey and I stopped by for our weekend coffee run and opted to try the Black Sugar Hojicha Latte and the Blue Hummingbird Matcha Latte. Both drinks had great flavor profiles and did not taste overly artificial or sweet at all. Overall, this spot is definitely up there as one of the best coffee shops in the Irvine area! All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. This is a great spot to come get some work done, catch up with some friends, or to just grab a drink and go. I highly recommend trying one of their signature drinks!

Great little coffee joint in a business complex. Service is solid and they roast their own coffee as well. There's also a smaller location that's good called CUP by Blue Hummingbird in Irvine near Irvine blvd and the 133. They're both worth checking out.

bourbon maple hojicha latte: 3/5- my drink tasted more like sweet milk w/ a hint of hojicha, i couldn't taste the usual hojicha's nutty and roasted flavor that you normally get and had higher expectations since some of the reviews recommended the hojicha lattewill probably have to come back to try their coffee instead since it's in their nameservice 5/5: barista was friendly and very helpful

The coffee shop has a nice atmosphere with plenty of seating both inside and outside, which is great for relaxing or catching up with friends. I tried the iced hojicha latte, but it wasn't the best--I've definitely had better versions elsewhere. On the bright side, the pain au chocolat was from Chaupain and was absolutely delicious! Overall, a decent spot, but the drinks didn't quite meet my expectations.

This place has a nice interior with lots of open light. Their menu is pretty standard but they did offer a seasonal snickerdoodle matcha. It has a cinnamon flavor that wasn't overbearingly sweet and fell within what I expected it to taste like. I also really enjoyed their black sugar hojicha, which I would recommend over their matchas as it was better made in my opinion, and had a stronger tea scent and taste. They also had some food items on their menu that were enticing so I'd def stop by this place for a quick bite

If you haven't tried one yet, definitely go for the Acatenango Pour-Over--it's sourced from a family farm in Guatemala, and it's always really smooth.Now that I'm pregnant, I've been cutting back on caffeine and wanted to switch things up. I asked the barista for a recommendation and ended up with the Black Sugar Hojicha Latte--and wow. If you love matcha but want something toastier and nuttier, this is it. The roasted hojicha from Mizuba has this amazing nutty flavor, and when mixed with their perfectly steamed milk (I got oat milk--highly recommend!), it's so good. Smooth with just the right amount of sweetness.If you're looking for a lower-caffeine option that still feels like a treat, this one's a winner!
