Big Wok Mongolian BBQ in Lake Forest, CA is one of my favorite restaurants. I take my family there to dine in regularly. It allows everyone to choose the food they want, and it's budget-friendly:Lunch Price:* 1 Adult: $18.45* 1 Kid (6-9 years): $11.45The space is large, and the dining environment is cozy. They offer disposable gloves for customers to use tongs to choose their food items instead of using their hands directly. After dining in many times, my kids know how to choose the food and some kinds of sauces they like. As for me, I always enjoy starting with a bowl of lamb and another bowl of onion, mushroom, kale, tofu, and noodles. Adding Satya sauce is a must. After the chef cooks the food on a large and sizzling grill, it becomes lamb stir-fried noodles. So tasty.Every visit to Big Wok Mongolian BBQ is a delightful experience. My family all loves the food and always says it's delicious. I'll definitely recommend it to more friends!

This is a good place if you're hungry. It's a large restaurant with a lot of seating. You're immediately greeted and helped along to order your meal ahead of time. There are a lot of choices and you can pile up your bowl. The only downside is that vegetables take up so much space and then reduce a lot once cooked. It's way more beneficial to get a lot of meat and noodles/rice since that will fill you up.

OVERALL : My first time getting AYCE Mongolian BBQ! This is a very nostalgic food to me because I used to get it all the time in food courts, and I looked forward to picking out all my meat and veg, sticking them super high, and watching the staff cook my ingredients w noodles on a big flat wok. This place is the same thing, but you don't have to worry about piling on too much meat / going too hard on the first plate bc it's AYCE! You pick all ur ingredients, build your sauce, and bring it to the cooks. The staff were super friendly and efficient -- and the store was spacious and clean. They bring out rice and fresh sesame bread pockets too with your noodles, and there is egg drop soup for self-service. They also offer a la carte, but that's for takeout orders only, FYI! PARKING : Big parking lot so you will not have too much trouble finding parking especially if you come later into the evening! The lot is shared with other businesses in the plaza .FOOD/DRINKS :All You Can Eat -- meats included chicken, beef, pork, and lamb. Weekends have shrimp too! Plenty of other toppings (corn, carrots, spinach, cilantro, pineapple, etc) to add to your bowl as well as noodles and a DIY sauce bar. They have recommendations of the sauce combos listed out in case you need help. I recommend adding a bit more sauce than the recipes call for in order to get more flavor!

This style of food is so nostalgic because I had this all the time as a child in the mall food courts. I laughed at myself while I was selecting food because old habits die hard. I was still trying to select the flat pieces of meat to pack in my bowl and build it super high even though it's not necessary here because it's all you can eat. I was done after 1.5 plates though. It's a lot of food! It's delicious though. I recommend putting way more sauce than the recipes say because the sauces get cooked and evaporated fast. The service was very fast and they always made sure I had something to hydrate with. What lovely attention to detail. I wish the drinks were all you can drink though! Otherwise, they give sesame bread unlimited which was a lovely touch and rare to find in these areas. Recommend!

Omg thankfully I found it the best Mongolian bbq spot I've ever had. Grew up with one back home used to eat at almost every week. Food was so fresh and delicious! Had two bowls, didn't do very well on sauce selection on the first one. The second bowl I did lamb, shrimp, crab imitation, peas, carrots, green onion, celery, cabbage, mushrooms, tomatoes and jalapeños. 2 bbq sauce, 3 curry, 2 teriyaki, 2 ginger water, 2 lemon water, and 2 hot sesame oil. Was delicious!! Very quick and friendly staff even the chefs and line cooks hustling as well. Going back for the good vibes and delicious food of course!

So if you are into AYCE then you might love how you can stuff your face here. Given that we are eating healthfully these days, we didn't value that as much and would have preferred to pay by the bowl. The noodles tasted like spaghetti - not the thinner noodles or udon that typically is served. I appreciated the cleanliness, with the gloves for handling the serving. Since it is AYCE, you don't need to fill up the bowl to stack as an art form since you can return for seconds assuming you are willing to wait in line again. They did have multiple chefs each cooking one meal at a time so that flowed better and was less chaotic. However, they cook with a good amount of oil, heavy style - so be prepared if you eat clean. I had mistakenly thought since it was grilled on the wok that would be a lighter meal and I could just do protein and veggies but it was greasier than I like. They state that you must finish everything you take and it was hard to finish my one small plate because of the oil.Included in the price is a white rice bowl, and a pastry puff bread roll. They have nice disposable paper placements with the Chinese zodiac signs for each year which my kids found fun. Thankfully my husband and I were signs that were listed as compatible - whew, haha that could have been an awkward dinner conversation. They had high chairs which is always helpful. Plenty of parking available in the lot.

I was a little hesitant when we pulled into a dark parking lot, but was pleasantly surprised with how busy this restaurant is. The cooks were quick and efficient even when there was a huge line. The frozen meats and shrimp were refilled quickly and the veggies were fresh. You can make a bowl as often as you'd like, but you have to be able to finish it. Note: the shrimp is only available for weekend dinners. The kids enjoyed putting together their own meals. Wish there was a dessert option like soft serve.

Fresh ingredients with the perfect recipe of sauces, thrown on a hot grill, then presented to me on a plate! How can you go wrong? Oh yeah, freshly baked bread served to your table to go with the fresh rice. You really can't go wrong. The service is amazing and the people here are great! The food tops it all. This is the BEST Mongolian BBQ in Southern California!

I love it here! great place for mongolian bbq at a cheap price. My family has never needed to wait for seating, and service is pretty hands off besides just collecting your plates and asking about drink selections. The veggie and meat selections are decent, and sauce as well. I recommend doubling up on sauce scoops for a stronger flavor! the cooking line is also fairly fast, and you get your food back quickly. I plan to come back whenever I'm craving mongolian bbq again.
