I have been a customer since 1980. Calvin has always had incredible service and i have always supported this great business. Today i came and waited outside for twenty minutes. For over ten minutes staff of five was at the back talking. There was one customer leaving and another being helped. I stepped in to pick up some meat when I was bereated repeatedly by a young red headed female. Another staffer went to step in and she cut him off and continued her rant.This is not the way to treat or keep customers. I like many have other options

For the prices they charge I'd think that I'd be able to get information about where the meat is sourced from.

Came by today to pick up 2 frozen pork hocks. They were going to charge me $5.99 per lb until I reminded them that they had told me it was only $4.99 per lb over the phone just a day earlier. Looking forward to cooking them this weekend!Prices seem higher here as I previously bought raw pork hock for only $3.76 per lb elsewhere. They only take cash or check.

These people know meat! And the aroma alone when you walk in is enough to make you want it all, but when you see the selection, it cinches the deal. A true meat porn hub!

I've visited this shop twice. First time - I bought a couple of ribeye steaks. The quality of the meat was excellent, so I decided to return. However, during my second visit, I paid closer attention and noticed that most of the workers were not wearing gloves. One worker was handling ground beef and actually digging into the grinder with his bare hands to pull the meat out. Ewww! Is this common practice at small butcher shops? This place also only accepts cash so i wonder if the workers wash their hands after handling money and before they help the next person. After this experience, I have not returned. While the meat quality is good, the lack of proper hygiene practices has made me hesitant to come back.

My husband has been going to this butcher for a long time. I asked the employee about the individual meats that my husband was buying that day, what farm or farms did the meat come from and he couldn't answer. I would like to know the farms names so I can find out what the animals are fed. Also in case of any recalls.

Best butcher shop I've ever been to! The quality of their meat is amazing, as well as their cheeses and sides. But that meat! Just saying
