I really wanted this place to succeed and gave it several chances, but unfortunately, they struck out.1st Strike: Ordered pandan waffles, but they were clearly old and stale and had mysterious coloring. I let the owner know, giving them the benefit of the doubt, and decided to try again. The subsequent times were ok. At least they tasted like pandan waffles. 2nd Strike: Placed an online order and arrived at the scheduled pickup time, only to find the place closed. Waited 30 minutes hoping they'd open, but no luck. Had to request a refund.3rd Strike: Ordered two sandwiches. The first was fine, but the second had stale bread, and the pickled veggies weren't even pickled--just old and unpleasant. I had a bad feeling as I ate it, and sure enough, I paid for it later.I was really excited to have a bánh mì spot nearby, and when they're on point, the food can be really good. But when they're not, the experience is a total miss. I hope they can fix these issues, but unfortunately, I won't be coming back.

Literally no one was here during business hours. The Open signs are even lit up yet no one was there and their display case was completely empty. Such bad business. You cannot run a business like this. If you're on break or have a family emergency or something, at least put up a sign to let the customer know. It seems like a lot of other people have had the same experience where they show up expecting to order banh mi during business hours only for no one to be here. Not sure how this place is still open. They must be money laundering or something to keep it open, especially since they don't seem to care about making money. Y'all be warned!

I tried the pork belly belly charcoal banh mi today. Unfortunately the bread was hard, and the pork bellies were cold. Didn't finish the other half.

Stopped here to try the crispy roasted pork belly Bánh mì. Ordrrrd the house special, all meat combinations. And the crispy pork belly with the charcoal baguette. The pork belly meat was really good but didn't care for the charcoal Bánh mì. The house special is also delicious as well. Lots of meat stuffed inside the baguette.Decent size, foot long Bánh mì.

I got the house special on charcoal bread. I thought the sandwich was good but the charcoal bread isn't anything crazy. Tastes like regular bread. Quality of the meats were good and the mayo and pate is tasty. Sandwich is on the smaller side but if you love banh mi and/or craving it and not near any other sandwich shop- this will fix your craving. Service is very friendly.

Was craving banh mi for breakfast and remembered this hidden gem in Stanton. Ordered five different banh mis for myself and the family online (Vegetarian, Special, Pork Roll, Eggs N' Spam, and the chicken). Food came out pretty quickly and was still hot when I got there to pick it up. Service was friendly and good. The banh mis were still fresh and hot when I got home. Overall, all of the banh mis tasted great! The bread itself was fresh, ingredients were flavorful and we enjoyed them very much. The one thing I will say is in the future, I will be asking for light mayo on all of the banh mis. While it was the normal amount you would expect on a banh mi, it still felt like a bit much. I can't speak for their drinks or other menu items, but if you're looking for a new banh mi spot to go, definitely check out Banh Mi Belly!

Man was I pretty disappointed with the banh mi from Banh Mi Belly.I paid the extra $0.50 to get our sandwiches on the charcoal bread and it was nothing special. In fact, it tasted stale and was barely crispy on the outside. We ordered #1. House Special ($6.97) and the limited time Crispy Pork ($6.50). There wasn't enough meat in both the sandwiches. The pork wasn't crispy and the bread tasted stale. The bread quality improved a little when I reheated it in the toaster oven at home, but it's still not worth it. I don't know if their regular bread is better than their charcoal, but I'm not a fan.To be fair, the filling of the sandwiches tasted okay, but the House Special cold cut meats didn't taste fresh. For the price and everything considered, I don't think I'll be coming back.

Hands down the best crispy pork banh mi I've eaten. The charcoal bread was still warm and fresh, the inside soft and fluffy, and outer crust of sesame toasty. The ratio of crispy pork to veggies to pate to sauce was perfection. The authentic heo quay sauce really elevated the entire banh mi and made it super flavorful.Honestly surprised how good it was. I bought a few for my family and they loved it as well.Owner was so nice. Gave me a charcoal bread sample with pate to munch on while I was waiting. I will most definitely be back.

This is the second time while I'm here in SoCal but the taste's still impressed me! Love this small cute spot in little Saigon! The sandwiches are really really good, exploded with buttery tasty crunchy stuffings! Try it once, you will love it!
