Balboa Island Market & Grille

Grabbed a quick lunch here during the Balboa Island Art Walk. The Grill boasts a simple minimalist menu and a couple of small tables outside. If the tables are full there's plenty of places to grab a seat either on the city benches located every few streets or on the sea wall. There's a public restroom just across from it and a small market next door. Staff were very friendly, one person (maybe the owner?) came out to chat with the person sitting at the table next to me for a few minutes and clearly cared about getting to know and engaging their clientele. I ordered the BLT and was a bit disappointed by the lackluster tomatoes but the sandwich was still tasty even if it was mostly a bacon/lettuce sandwich. Overall I think this place is exactly what you'd expect and I would certainly grab a quick bite here again while strolling the island.

Phenomenal breakfast burrito. Fast service and the burrito was exceptional. Meaty cheesy and overall delicious. Sitting outside by the liquor store was a perfect place to eat.

Good food, no outside dining, walk up only, great customer service, next door to local mart. Extremely clean place.

My experience as super fire! I took the ferry over it was quiet there was no line at all and I got to pick my items with no pressure and it was mad chill! I ended up getting the burger which I was told to order and their breakfast burrito. The burger was a classic burger not smash and just what I was looking for with a great house made burger spread. The breakfast burrito I got had bacon and chorizo and was really homely. The seating was the only thing that was kinda whatever but other than that the service was good and I would go back cause the food was smooth!

We called our order in, and there were mistakes at pickup. Sure, no big deal, we get it. So I paid for a burrito that was missing, told 3 minutes, 20 minutes later, never got it and I had to go. Now I need to see how to get my money back.

The BI Grill is fairly new, and it's offering an impressive array of take-away options. We first ordered their burger, which a neighbor had recommended. Great big, juicy burger to which we added cheese and a side of fries. Delicious ... and the crispy fries are to die for. On subsequent visits, my wife & I split a very meaty hot pastrami sandwich on a baguette roll. Yummy. Another time I tried the meatball sub, blessed with a hearty, full-flavored sauce that brought back old memories of my favorite grinders in CT. More recently, my wife chose the patty melt while I chose Mo's roast beef sub. Both were outstanding ... but admittedly each was more than we could polish off in one sitting. So; we wound up with two lunches each. Of course, we included the fries. Gotta have 'em!! We've been back, and we'll be back again. Will def try the burrito bowl.

I'm impressed with this little shack. They have completely redone it and minimized their menu. Although the menu has decreased in options, the quality has drastically improved. The burger is similar to a Five Guy's burger. Their fries are generously seasoned as they are decorated in black specs of pepper. I'll definitely be back.

Really good burgers, fantastic BLT and some of the best onion rings i've had. Really awesome staff also.

Best hot chocolate ever better then McDonald's and Starbucks. Always look forward to it when we go to Newport boat parade

New ownership of the little grill on Balboa Island. Scratch made food with a view. Very tasty burger. Generous portions. Looking forward to trying their breakfast offerings next.
