Whenever we are craving quality korean bbq, we go to Baekjeong. The ingredients are fresh, delicious and high quality. The service is amazing! We went for my brother's birthday and were not disappointed. Kevin was one of our servers/cooks and was super accommodating. We left with our hearts and belly completely full.

A la carte Korean Barbecue at its finest. Baekjong has one of the best marinaded KBBQ in Orange County. I usually get the beef combo which comes with three meats (brisket, boneless rib, and I chose a ribeye steak for my third choice), and either a soy bean paste or Kim chi soup. If you're not a beef lover they also have a pork combo as well. The ban chan that comes with the meal are all so delicious! You can see them all in the picture and I place the ones I love most closest to me. The best part of Baekjong is their dipping sauce. It goes great with all the meats and they also have a side of salt which you can use with or without sesame oil. Don't forget to ask for garlic, jalepenos, and Saam sauce on the side. The service here is awesome, after a busy day, I really appreciate having the servers cook the meats for me. It is quite noisy inside with all the banter of friends and acquaintances getting together for a delicious meal but it feels very homey and nice.

My family and I ate here for my brother's birthday and I hate to say, but I was definitely disappointed. Having heard great things about Baekjeong, I had really high expectations, not just for the quality of their food, but also for their customer service as well, and both happened to fall short on the day we came. It seemed as though they were understaffed for the day, but it did not seem busy enough to the point where things could understandably have turned out the way they did. We were seated quickly and ordered two set menus. While the first set came out relatively quickly, we did not receive even a single plate of the second set menu until over half an hour had passed. By the time we were almost done with the third plate of meat from the first set menu, my parents had barely received their first plate of meat from theirs. We were uncomfortably passing food across the table for the majority of the night, with many people in my family pretending as though they weren't hungry so that they could offer more food to the others. Upon reminding our server 2-3 times, she just kept assuring us that the food was coming, despite us not seeing any signs of that. While the meat quality was decent, it was nothing too special compared to even an AYCE Korean BBQ restaurant. I expect that at a restaurant where you pay a la carte, that the quality of their meat is usually a lot better and noticeably so, but I just did not feel that way about the meat here. We also ordered a couple of sides as well, and their corn cheese was delicious, their steamed egg was delicious (the one you have to pay more for, not the free one), but their beef tartare was extremely lackluster and disappointing. It tasted like it was just doused in sesame oil, and I could taste nothing but the strong, overpowering, sesame oil flavor. Overall, not a great experience. At the high price tag of the menu, I definitely expected better service and better tasting food.

Disappointing Experience - Won't Be ReturningTbh, probably won't be coming back. The food was nothing special, and I don't love the setup--rather than cooking at your table, they cook for you. The servers weren't rude, but they felt rushed, barely stopping by and not really explaining anything or engaging much.We ordered the Large Beef Combo ($150), which comes with three meats. It was barely enough for two adults and two kids, and the meat quality was just okay--pretty chewy. We were told it came with soybean soup (with beef) or kimchi soup (with pork), so we chose the soybean soup. When it arrived, it had clams in it, which was never mentioned. Since my daughter and I have a shellfish allergy, we couldn't eat it. My husband tried it and said it was probably the best part of the meal. With three sodas, our total came to $200--a steep price for a very underwhelming experience. Unfortunately, the food, service, and overall value just didn't make it worth it for us.

One of my favorite KBBQ spots, mainly because they include steamed egg and corn cheese--my two must-haves for KBBQ! The meat quality is solid, and I always go for the beef combo with an extra order of beef belly (which is hands down my favorite cut). Plus, I love that we don't have to cook the meat ourselves--makes the whole experience more enjoyable. The vibe is upbeat with loud music, which adds to the energy, but be prepared for a wait. We waited an hour at 8 PM on a Saturday, and once you get the text, you only have 5 minutes to check in, so you really can't wander too far.Service was mostly good, but one downside--our server saw us spill something and didn't help, so we had to clean it up ourselves with napkins. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely something they could improve on.Overall, great KBBQ spot with quality meat and solid side dishes, just be ready for a wait!

We got the small Hodang's Favorite Combo to share between two people. This combo has a good variety of different meats such as beef brisket, short ribs, pork belly etc. It also comes with soup (we chose kimchi stew). I think the combos are the way to go, it's the most worth it for what you get. The meat was good and tasted great with the side dishes, and we had some leftovers at the end. The meat looked fresh, it was flavorful and was fatty and lean in the right places and for the right cuts. They also grill the meat for you, which is nice because you don't have to do any work, but could be a little bit awkward sometimes. The server we got though was extremely tentative, she would always check on our grill and asked us if we wanted any refills on any of the sides, corn cheese, etc. We loved the corn cheese and got like two refills on it.

Recently went to Baekjeong with friends for dinner! What we loved:-food and quality was delicious as always! We ordered the large beef combo, 2 lunchboxes, and 2 bottles of sojuIt's pretty loud inside, they do have fun music playing but if you're catching up with friends you haven't seen in a while, it can be too loud depending on where you're seated. The wait and parking lot are a bit hectic as expected. When cooking the meat, you do feel a bit rushed as they're trying to get you in and out with the long waitlist. Felt side refills could be more generous. Overall tasty food but would go back during "off hours" when the wait isn't too long.

First time here!Couple things: they don't take reservations and in open table when you search for them, the Canadian branch comes up. So make sure to not mistake this one with that. They have good air conditioning so it's not as smelly as other Korean bbq places.Quality of meat was pretty good. They actually cooked for us which was nice. The main problem was the attitude of the server!
