We actually went to Ami Sushi because the place we were going to meet for lunch was closed on Tuesdays and we didn't know that. We decided to try this place instead, and we were so happy we did!!The staff and owner were so kind and helpful. They were also on top of it. They filled our drinks several times and asked if we needed anything and was everything okay. We didn't have to ask for anything.We ordered 2 rolls and an order of tempura vegetables. It was all delicious and fresh. The food came quickly, which was good since my hubby was on his lunchbreak. The tempura veggies and warm dipping sauce were so good. They were Crunchy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside, yum. We had broccoli, sweet potato, butternut squash and green beans. The rolls we picked were so good and beautiful!!We had the Mr. Castro roll and French Kiss. They were equally good. We really couldn't pick our favorite. They were also so large. We took some home to my daughter who's favorite food is sushi. She got 2 pieces of tempura and 5 pieces of sushi and she was a very happy girl!! The prices here are very fair and it was well worth what we paid.The place isn't fancy at all, but very clean and so comfy.This was a great experience, so I would like to thank the "Closed on Tuesdays" place for causing us to finally try Ami Sushi! Ami Sushi is my absolute favorite place to eat out. The quality of the fish is consistently outstanding which is amazing considering how big the portions are. The chefs are great and everyone is so friendly, they remember you if you come regularly. Personally I recommend the salmon carpaccio, but everything on the menu is great!

As one of the many many sushi spots in Orange County, I'm here to report that this place is pretty solid. Not the best sushi you'll ever have, but will satisfy your cravings. I think a perfect spot for a quick lunch or for takeout. The rolls are affordable and the service is good. The rolls are big but you'll want at least 2 to be full. The inside of the restaurant has a bar and a good amount of tables, and I'm told that there is usually no wait to eat.

The food is not at all what I expected. I ordered a baked salmon and added cream cheese.I also had an order of gyzo. They were decent. They needed to be fried a little longer. The rolls don't come with any type of sauce . I added two for .50cents each. I won't be back.

A typical Chinese-run sushi restaurant.If you are looking for more affordable sushi options, and you also don't care for the authenticity or the quality of fish/rice, go here! Because anyone who knows anything about authentic Japanese cuisine will tell you that the food from here is not remotely close to being Japanese, or sushi. LolWe ordered 2 of the 3 items Combination Plate ($14.99 each). And the only thing in there that I was satisfied with is the orange slice... Aside from the salmon teriyaki, we opted for the -California roll (8 pieces), Tuna roll (5 pieces), Mixed sushi (3 pieces) All of the above were falling apart as we were picking it up, and completely fell apart by the time it made it to the soy sauce plate... the rolls weren't even wrapped in full, the fish quality is subpar, and the way they prepared it, was just wrong...I think I would have been better off making my own sushi rolls at home. I lost the appetite to finish the box before half way thru it, because everything was just not good.Though the staff was nice to us. But if you are just looking to fix your sushi craving, economically (like I did), grab yourself one from Tokyo Central! I've had cheap sushis that are very well still acceptable, this is just NOT it.

I have been coming here for five years, and today was the first time I experienced the worst service ever. I went ahead and ordered an order to go home due to I have a baby, and they gave me the receipt to ensure I tip. I did not receive any services or eat in the facility, so I decided not to tip like other restaurants. It's not the requirement, and as I was stepping away, they said something in their language and signed very loud. That was not friendly at all: please treat your customers with respect.
