Best beef empanada I've had so far in SD! The filling tasted like a beef stew with spices and the pastry was soft. Well balanced flavors.

I thought the beef empanada was delicious!! The sandwich was good but its not something I would reach for again. The guy at the register explained the menu to me which was great. He was really welcoming! There is a bathroom for customers but you gotta walk through the doors and near the kitchen -- there are signs at every turn to guide you

I stopped by in the middle of the afternoon on Friday for a takeout order. The shop is cute, small, and very clean, about a dozen tables. There are nice decorations, pictures on the walls, twinkly lights, and real flowers on the tables. The gentleman that took my order was very polite. After I ordered he let me know there would be a short wait as beef empanadas weren't ready. I said ok, no problem. He later brought out a cup with ice so I could have some water, and a really good looking flan, on the house. When my order was ready he brought it to the table and bagged up all my items. My BF ate his empanada and said it was very tasty. I didn't even have time to take a picture, he ate it so fast! I loved my choripan sandwich. The bread roll was crisp on the outside and had a fluffy interior. The sausage meat and chimichuri type sauce were so good! We are looking forward to eating (fighting over??) the flan. This is one of those stops where you are plotting your return 10 minutes after you finish eating. There's a lot left to try; sandwiches, scratch made chips, specialty coffees, etc. Looks like they have specials on Friday and Saturday. You should go!

I love supporting family businesses and I found Sangucheria Peruvian street food while I was in the area. I was welcomed with a warm smile full of dimples by Jorge (Coco). He was so nice and told me a lot about his family owned business. I ordered the chicharrón sandwich. I'm a sucker for anything with pickled onions! It's a different kind of chicharrón with slices of pork. The sandwich was good I just wish the meat was a little more tender, I found the meat to be tough. If they can perfect that then I would give the sandwich itself 5stars. I also ordered a empanada that was just wonderful, the Chimichurri sauce was absolutely delicious. Oh and don't forget dessert - I had Budín which is like bread pudding. It was also good... I heated it up just a tad and put Carmel sauce in top!! Please support small businesses and give Sangucheria Peruvian street food a try!

I always see this place on my recommended place to visit, I finally manage to get here to try and I am not disappointed, I was thinking chicharon sandwich is like the chicharon that Mexican and Filipino makes. I had a Chicharon taco from a Mexican food place and I am not a fan of it, I'm thinking that it's a deep fried pork skin then cooked in a sauce and put on a sandwich but instead it's roasted pork with yam and pickled red onions. The restaurant is a nice little eatery, simply decorated and lots of drink from Peru. The service is quick and it's during lunch time so I was a bit surprised that it's not packed. I also ordered some sweet potato fries and I came out crispy, not soggy like I get from other places and also I got a slice of the bread pudding which is a little dense but really good, I'm just use to a more lighter kind of bread pudding. I will definitely come back to try the other choices that they have or even try their special of the day and other desserts.

Went here for dinner. They have some special items on the chalkboard. Today they had aguadito (chicken soup with rice and cilantro). That was the best soup I've had in a long time. They also had fried yucca which was also delicious. On the chalkboard there was also caldereta de res. We didn't order it, but maybe next time. The owner is very kind in taking care of the customers. We will be back to try the soup again!!

I'm always a big Fan of Peruvian Food , especially since 3 of my Son's close friends are Peruvians. I get to know their Food 'coz they are always bringing me Peruvian food :) . I was driving to my Friend's house when I saw this place called "SANGUCHERIA PERUVIAN STREET FOOD", it's mostly a SANDWICH place, but they also have some Meals. I never had a PERUVIAN SANDWICH 'coz I'm always at Peruvian restaurants that have big Meal Entries, so I was really excited to try them. We got: * CHICHARRON - Slow braised Pork served with sweet potato, fresh red onion relish, and special Peruvian chili pepper.* CHORIZO - 2 Grilled chorizo sausages in crusty bread with chimichurri sauce.* ASADO - Roast beef served with gravy (Made with a blend of spices and Peruvian Chilis) and white fresh onion relish.*BEEF EMPANADA and CHICKEN EMPANADA. *CHICKEN CAUSA - Traditional Peruvian Appetizer. Smashed potatoes for the Top and bottom, filled with Chicken Salad (Not Spicy). Their Sandwiches have a lot of going on inside, like the Meats are a lot, there's Potato, sweet potato, Pickled onion, Peruvian sauces etc . Their CHICHARRON and CHORIZO SANDWICHES are my Favorite here, both are very meaty and have so much Flavor!I tried both their Beef and Chicken Empanada, and both were a bit Salty for me, for others it might not, but I tried both on many different days and it was really a bit salty for me. Their CHICKEN CAUSA is a wow! It's so good, this one is always sold out of their Shelves, so get it when you see them! I also tried some of their Fruity drinks here like their PASSION FRUIT DRINK before , but I would rather choose water bottles or their INCA drinks. This place, on some days isn't packed, and on some days we had to Stand up the entire time, from ordering to receiving our food 'coz the place is packed! The owners are so sweet, the guy COCO the owner was very simple and sweet, the Wife was very Awesome too, they are very nice owners. We visited again and brought my Son's friends this time. I wasn't able to take a picture of their Food 'coz we had no Table to sit on 'coz they are packed! Their food here is good and very filling with a nice owners!

Cute little restaurant in a shopping center off the 52 and Santo Rd. The guy behind the counter was so kind and very excited for me to be there and trying his food and supporting the business, it made me want to order a bunch.I ordered: Asado Sandwich, Chicarron Sandwich, Beef Empanada, Bread Pudding, and a Blue Corn drinkThe sandwiches were served hot and fresh on soft bread with a side of pink and green sauces (peri peri and chutney I think?? -not sure). The Chicarron was phenomenal by itself, no sauce needed, but the Asado was just meat and bread (well cooked meat, I must say), so the sauce was a plus. Most beef Empanadas I have ordered in other places are made with ground beef, this was seasoned strips of meat inside a perfectly toasted dough pocket. It was served with a delicious Chimichurri sauce.. honestly, that sauce needs to go on the sandwiches. They should offer that ad an option or even am add on - it's that good, especially paired with the beef/steak.Overall this is a cute place to get a filling Sandwich. Come support this small business! :)
