Lovely Relaxed Location with great fresh seafood and away from the more congested parts of the Shores.Reasonable all day Happy Hour prices and limited menu and a more extensive and reasonably expensive evening menu. Just a great place!

Our waiter was very nice, but the food is not good.I ordered the crab parm pasta, that I think had overcooked burnt bits. Overall, it was a weird crab pasta dish. What was horrible was that the batter was filled with bits of debris that tasted like smashed fish bones with no seasoning. The taste of the pasta itself is also not good, feels like store bought spaghetti. The sauce was also bland.The fried oyster appetizer was sitting on salt, which was also a weird combination. The bits of oyster that fell into the salt bed were very salty, borderline inedible.My boyfriend got the Scallop Fettuccine, which he said is also not quite up to par. I truly don't think these 2 pasta deserves $28 each. There is also a 5% subcharge on top. I love pasta/italian food and I just think there are much better choices.I originally wanted to come and order the mussels and bone marrow but that was no longer on the menu. Maybe I can come and give another review when those items are in season.

Here's what I got on happy hour -Notorious POG 10/10- Chips, GUAC, salsa 10/10-Chicken Wings 7/10 (spicy) - Mussels 8/10-Oysters 10/10- Caesar salad 10/10- Fish taco 10/10-Shrimp 8/10-Fries 8/10

We gathered for a family birthday dinner on a beautiful evening on La Jolla shores and enjoyed tasting through the menu here at Sandpiper. Of course you cannot start without trying some of their oysters and they were very fresh and delicious, especially enjoyed with cocktails and some sparkling bubbles.Next, we shared the delish roasted carrot's, mussels , classic Caesar and the endive arugula salad with beets, pistachios, and feta. Of the two salads, the endive salad was preferred by all. For our mains, we had the diver scallops which honestly were not very good and the Smashburger & fries which was just OK considering how many places in San Diego do make a great smash burger. We ended with some coffee and a couple of desserts ( yes to the strawberry cream ).

I forgot to review this restaurant when I was in La Jolla in March. Off the bat, Jocelyn our server was AMAZING! I can't thank her enough for her patience and attentiveness. I had made Wednesday 6:00 PM TOCK reservations for a party of 4. upon arrival, we were greeted and seated inside. The place has a nice laid back vibe to it with both indoor and outdoor seating.My friend and I were meeting old friends we hadn't seen in a years. We all ordered drinks while catching up and looking over the menu. Jocelyn must of come over at least 4 time to ask us if we were ready, each time being super friendly and patient and expressing that she didn't want us to think she forgot about us. Finally, we decided on New England Clam Chowder with Clam Cakes, Oysters Rockefeller, Snake River Trout, Steamed Mussels, Wedge Salad, Maine Diver Scallops and the Wild Isles Salmon. When all the dishes came out, all looking great and tasting great. Our friends loved their soup, salad, salmon and scallops. By the time we finished eating and talking, there was only one other table with customers. LOL, we had closed the restaurant at 9:00PM.Atmosphere: great vibe for entertaining, hanging out. Service: excellent. Food: excellent.

Great happy hour experience. The food was delicious and the service was on point. I preferred the happy hour menu to dinner menu and the prices were very reasonable. We had the oysters, hamachi, fries, crispy shrimp, caesar salad and chicken sandwich. All were great and the servers did an awesome job. The only downside is that they still have a 5% surcharge but aside from that, wonderful experience.

Came here to catch up with a few friends and loved the variety on their happy hour menu. We got a bunch of plates to share and cocktails for ourselves. The cocktails were alright. Some were too sweet and not very strong. Tasty nonetheless. There were a few times the wait staff forgot something we ordered, but that's my biggest gripe here.I enjoyed the freshness of all the seafood, as expected in San Diego. Nothing stood out as incredible--the Tiradito was too tart, the Crispy Shrimp was alright. I liked the Oysters and Mussels the most. There's a bread we got later on as the sun went down. Beautiful restaurant to hang out and watch the sunset. Overall glad I got to experience this once!

Really enjoyed our first experience at Sandpiper. Showed up one hour early and they still took and seated us out on the patio. We ordered a variety of smaller plates, the crispy shrimp, the corn cake, panzanella salad, and the smash burger. Everything came out when ready and fairly quickly. The corn cake was really good, not too sweet and came in a hot skillet. The crispy shrimp was really good, coated with seasoning, mayo and scallions. The panzanella was amazing! Super fresh, light and delicious. The burger was also really good, juicy, very tasty and came with a good portion of fries. We ended the meal with the banana pudding. Loved our experience, and will definitely be back.

Wow this place is incredible! Amazing food and great service! Shout out to the chefs in the kitchen who really make this place stand out! The swordfish schnitzel, crispy shrimp and hamachi tiradito are my absolute favorites! The fettuccini pasta and the desserts were so delicious too! We inhaled the Hawaiian Cheesecake I couldn't even take a picture! I am loving their summer menu and can't wait to come back!!

Love this La Jolla gem. Two words, corn bread! Sooo good. Great waiter recommendations. We had oysters cocktails.
