"I needed a smoothie to revive me and give me some energy for the day, and it did just that! I ended up getting their Compassionate Cacao drink which tasted BOMB. I'm not going to lie the $13 I paid for this was a tad scary, but worth it. Also, the guy at front was nice and prompt. He did fill that smoothie cup fully, I just drank some before taking a photo. They have a beautiful outdoor area but I decided to take a walk to the park to enjoy this. This spot is just round the corner from my friends place, and I will come back when I see them again."
"Wow there isn't a single review for the UCSD Food Co-op? This place isn't the same as the Co-op General Store, which is more of a convenience store. It's a great place to come for some cheap, very healthy and organic foods. I even had organic soda! It is completely student run and has a sort of hippie feel to it. The theme seems to be all-natural, free-trade, cruelty free, environmentally conscious foods. They have great bagels for 75 cents (it used to be 50 cents when I first came to this school) and day old ones for 50 cents. Stocked in their fridges are all kinds of cheeses. There's even a toaster and cutting area for the bagels. Most of the other products here are vegetarian such as the salad bar. Against the wall next to the fridges is usually a nice soup of some sort. I've tried the vegetarian chili and the cream of corn chowder, which is great. It's a cheap lunch paired with a nice French baggette also for 50 cents. On occasion, they have something new. Yesterday, I just so happened to stop by and had a cup of vegetarian Thai green curry with rice for under 5 bucks. It was delicious and had a nice kick, but unfortunately, it was pretty cold. It's still a great place to stop by if you're in a rush for a healthy and organic meal (they have pre-made salads and sandwiches in the fridge), plus, you can also make your own trail mix as they have nuts and dried fruits in bulk."

Visit Restaurant Page"From the minds that brought to you Plumeria comes, Kiin Extraordinary Thai. My family loves Plumeria so when we asked if Kiin was a sister restaurant it was a given that we'd sit down for dinner here at Skydeck in Del Mar. The whole food hall is gorgeous and the ambiance is casual and trendy. I didn't take any pictures but Kiin was dressed up for the Halloween season so yay for being in the spirit. Food was good. Portions were sizable. 1st place: Kiin Noodle Soup-generous chunks of braised beef (or duck if you prefer) in a five-spice broth. Its advertised as a Thai street food. Runners up: Pad see ew, standard though not spectacular. Steeamed fish with spicy lime vinaigrette, was okay bc the fish seemed bland to me still. Wish was in the race: We love the larb at Plumeria. No larb here. We love the flower cups at Plumeria. None here too. They should add those on. Would be a hit with the Del Mar crowd."
"I've never seen kanzi, Arkanas black and winesap apples under one roof. Awesome cashier. I didn't get into the kombucha stockpile but I did pick up a Gopal's Power Wrap nori wrapped vegan jerky stick, jalapeno & cheese version."
"Omigoodness El Veganito is MIND BLOWINGLY GOOD. This place has incredibly flavorful, well crafted dishes in spectacularly generous portions. We ordered potato taquitos, El Veganito fries & burrito with adobada, fish tacos, sopes, and horchata for 3 people. The flavors are complex and well-seasoned. Each dish was fresh but simultaneously gluttonously indulgent. We ate to our hearts content and still had enough for a second meal (which was still bomb the next day). I shared my leftovers with my meat-loving husband and he was convinced I was lying about it being vegan. In his words, "What sorcery is this?!?" Do yourself a favor and head to El Veganito next time you crave Mexican food. You won't regret it!"
"Another specialty dining place on campus! I'm not sure why our school makes a huge deal about being the best Vegan restaurant when the competition probably isn't very big on other campuses. Nonetheless, it's still nice to know our school is recognizing different eating habits! I've ordered: -Sunflower Fields: probably my go to dish here! $6 for a huge plate of salad that has artichoke in it! I'm always super full after this dish. -sweet potato fries: YUM! Sometimes it's a hit or miss because it might be burnt or too salty, but their dipping sauce for it (the white one especially!) is so yummy! -Kendra lama: a noodle dish! It was semi filling, but just looks presentable. It has a big piece of coconut in it that is somewhat edible? Flavor was okay- it was the five spices that most Asian dishes have. -chop chop river: this was a disappointment and not filling at all. Literally half a stock of romaine lettuce sprinkled with some fried tofu pieces and onions. Tasty, but not filling. -spicy Sierra: this was yummy! Imitation chicken drenched in BBQ sauce. It's like taco Tuesday but available everyday! -roots vegan chili: you can either get a coup or a bowl. It's pretty good! You can add green onions and tofu cream to it. -fruit tart: VEGAN DESSERT? yay! It's not bad at all! Tastes almost like a regular tart! Pros: -good service! They are nice and helpful. Smiles! -good variety! I'm surprised there is such a big bulletin of different options. -decent prices! For a specialty place, the price is great for the quality and quantity. -nice environment! Good place to study if you have no where to go! Cons: -inconsistent portions: sometimes I've gotten a Sunflower Fields salad without the artichoke, when that is the main ingredient. Also, some people are skimpy on the ingredients. Tips/observations:-sometimes they have number plates and serve you, sometimes they call your name and you pick it up at the front. Overall, highly recommend this place!"
"If you find yourself on the highway and you need a place that's quick, easy & delicious .. you've found the right place. There is something for everyone here ... for meat lovers, vegetarians , pescatarians , paleo , keto and more ! Such a great menu ! No complaints here !"
"Came by for a late brunch with my friend. There were a few people dining. Street parking is available. They have outside and inside dining. We opted for inside dining, we looked at the menu prior to this visit. Our waitress Pink took our food and drink orders. The food came out fairly quickly and it was super fresh! We had family style dining. We ordered the tangerine "chicken", satay "chicken", spicy noodles level 10 with fried tofu & "beef" and a second order of spicy noodles spice level Zero with fried tofu. The drinks we had were Sapporo and watermelon smash martini (sake base). I wish they had liquor as an option; they only serve wine, beers and sake. The satay chicken and tangerine chicken were super crispy, great flavor and came out piping hot! The satay chicken was marinated vegan chicken; it came with peanut sauce and cucumber salad. Tangerine chicken was topped off with their sweet and tangy sauce; served with steamed broccoli and white/brown rice. Our main entree were the spicy noodles with fried tofu and beef. I ordered a level 10 spicy but it was not spicy enough for me. Spicy noodle was made with wide noodles sautéed with onions, bell peppers, basil and carrots in a chili garlic sauce. My friend can't handle spice; so he ordered the spicy noodle level zero with fried tofu. The noodles, vegan beef and tofu were cooked perfectly with great amount of flavor. For dessert we split the mango over sticky rice, it was pretty darn good! The mango, the sticky rice with sweet coconut milk on topped was delicious. We both enjoyed each appetizers and entree. The staff were friendly. The restaurant was open and airy. They also have bathrooms for customers."
"When we felt ignored at another Little Italy restaurant, we found ourselves wandering down India. As we were walking by, Cako pulled to go into the restaurant. The owner was outside called her "Bella" and gave her a treat. So why not eat here? After all, Cako chose it!We asked for a table away from others, just because. It was perfect! We ordered the vegan bruschetta, very good! Unique! We both had the pappardelle brasato...swoon! Tender beef and a delicious sauce!!! Sooooo good! We also loved the bread and pesto to dip it in! We ordered a great Super Tuscan and what a great way to enjoy the pleasant evening!Service was attentive but not intrusive. Everyone was wonderful! Our sever was surprised we were locals since a majority of their customers were from out of town. What a great place to come to! Can't wait to come back!Cako Approves!!!"
"VEGAN REVIEW wowza! Being from the Bay, we are totally spoiled by having The Butcher's Son-- we are usually disappointed in other vegan delis, but this place is legit!#1. MATZO BALL SOUP. OMG. SO GOOD! #2. Matzo ball soup! It's so good, it deserves to take both top spots #3. Tuna melt. The bread!!!!! And yes the tuna salad itself was awesome. Hubby also loved his Reuben. Definitely affordable- I recommend the meal combo. AND YOU CAN GET MATZO BALL SOUP AS YOUR SIIIIIIIIIDE!!!!We sat outside. Unfortunately this is right next to a crisis pregnancy center- ugh- so I just had to turn my back to it Parking was easy.Service was good. Note that you should wait inside for your stuff. They don't call your name when your food is ready. Will return whenever I'm in SD"
"Came by for a Friday night dinner with a reservation. For the 3 of us, drinks we ordered:-vesuvius $14-apertivo sour $15-hazy IPA $9Food:-contadina (sausage mushroom pizza) $19-margherita $18-gnocchi mushroom special $29.95-linguine nero special squid ink $38.95-parpardelle ragu $29-pistacchio cake $11Food was good. On the pricier side for sure. Service was a bit slow on all fronts. I enjoyed the complimentary bread...really great! Crust on the pizza was great as well!Nice ambiance inside the restaurant. Park behind the restaurant in the alley. Go into the restaurant to get validation to park without paying! Otherwise, parking is definitely very hard to find in the area."
"Whenever I need to get away and treat myself to lunch in a quiet, calming, meditative place, I come to Sattvik Foods. It's a drive -- goodness. Especially if you are in South Bay. But worth it for a late morning or early afternoon to enjoy a lunch and read a book. I've never met the founder and chef, Kanta. I hope to one day. She draws her inspiration from African and Asian heritage in preparing the dishes, creating a lovely fusion of fresh, flavorful and filling foods. I always, always have leftovers to take for afternoon snacks. You can order online, and catering is available. It definitely seems that Sattvik is getting more and more online orders, but I always like to stay. The restaurant feels like it is in a converted warehouse. It is shotgun side, and the seating is ample and spaced. There is generally no music playing, and very few people speaking. Most come and go quickly. Be sure to check the menu of the day. It rotates. My favorite is the thali, which is a set menu with three curries, an appetizer, dessert, the soup of the day, rice and a bread. Other favorites are the rotis, samosas and the puri dishes -- the entire menu, really. Lots of street food options on the menu. I highly recommend a visit."

TO EVERYONE WHO HAS WRITTEN REVIEWS REGARDING THE CLEANLINESS OF THE PLACE OR ITS EMPLOYEES:CHILL THE EFF OUT.First of all, if you think a place that's not just student run, but VOLUNTEER run is not clean enough for your silver spoon standards, then either don't go there, or volunteer to help out yourself.Second, I love this place. I actually value the predictability of the food. Their usual options are liberally spiced but not overly spicy or oily, which I appreciate. I am slowly easing into a vegetarian lifestyle and after trying many places, can conclude indian cuisine makes vegetarian food more flavorful and delicious than any other culture. So why wouldn't the food coop make this everyday? It's easy to serve, very yummy and I can barely tell it's vegetarian. A win-win all around. They always have whole wheat breads and brown rice for A FRACTION of the cost of anywhere else on campus. Also an amazing selection of organic drinks. What I really like to is the self-serve style of the store along with the vast selection of organic and vegan options. I spotted tofutti cream cheese as an option for my bagel today FOR THE SAME PRICE as regular cream cheese. I've always wanted to try this but hesitated due to the cost and commitment of buying a whole tub without trying it first. Thank you food coop for letting me sample it for only 50 cents on my bagel!! I try to come on weds especially bcus the hare krishna temple ppl's food is AMAZING and you can stuff yourself silly with entree, side, dessert and a drink (altho this is the only thing I don't like there haha it tastes like syrup..) for only $4.50. incredible deal. Lastly, sorry about writing a whole freaking essay but I think it's unfair for people to rag on the employees. I personally admire them for taking the time to volunteer/undertake the HUGE task of essentially running a restaurant+store. From what I can see, they've always been kind and generous to everyone. The employees at the other dining options on campus are WAY WORSE. They actually piss me off on a daily basis go hate on them instead. In fact, I'll even help you out with a couple.Santorini: All the employees are creepy guys staring down your shirt as you order, and they serve overfried crap on a cardboard-like pita.Bombay Coast: Cheap cheap cheap. I'm surprised they don't start counting grains of rice cause heaven forbid they give you an extra one. Their shit is oversalted and more oil than spice. Not to mention the employees have trouble fulfilling simple requests like "naan on the side".Tacone: I'm so glad this place shut down. The employees had mad attitude which is completely inappropriate when you're charging a hefty $9 for a fucking sandwich. Also, all the girls on campus seem to think this or croutons is healthy..WAKE UP PEOPLE!! Just because it's listed under 'wrap' or 'salad' doesn't mean shit. Their nutrition info obviously reflects this if you'd take the time to look.See what we have to deal with on campus?? Food Coop is a gem.

Met up for lunch with a couple of girlfriends who also live in suburbia... We appreciated the convenient location at Sky Deck and enjoyed the open air, modern decor. Service was pleasant and accommodating as well.I arrived late so only managed a photo of my own order, the Chef's Signature Braised Beef Panang Curry served on a bed of steamed green beans and carrots with choice of rice (I picked organic brown, which came adorably shaped in a heart - perhaps to emphasize its heart-healthy and antioxidant attributes? ;). While the beef was certainly tender and the lemongrass-infused-in-coconut-milk sauce flavorful, the dish as a whole was what I'd expect from any good Thai resto rather than "extraordinary" as marketed. :P

This grocery store is an absolute must when visiting San Diego. Anytime I'm in town, I have to take a quick trip to get some of the unique and specialty items that I've never seen anywhere else. As a vegan, it's very exciting to shop in a grocery store with so many options and not be confronted with animal body parts everywhere. My favorite things to get here are some of the local brand products including: San Diego Tempeh, Babe kombucha, entrees from Peace Pies, and The Tofu Shop. I also love the housemade salads, entrées, pastries, etc. from the hot and cold bar and bakery on the second floor. I've never seen the same items in the hot and cold bar but my favorite things I've tried were the enchilada casserole and an amazing mushroom stroganoff.I only wish they had another one of these locations in Orange County!

I love the fact that everything is vegan. The portions are large and shareable. The phish tacos have a lot of sliced avocado on them and pair well with the chipotle crema. The lime wedges are a nice touch that brings all the flavors together. The soy adobada in the California Burrito Bowl was well seasoned. We received our food quickly. The food was well-prepared with great attention to detail.

This is the new vegan/ vegetarian eatery on campus at UCSD. On opening day, there must have been at least 30 people lined up, out the door, waiting to try this place. The food does not disappoint. I am a carnivore for life, but I can appreciate this place because of the simple, robust flavors. The meals are light, colorful and fresh. For $6-8 entrees, I'd say this place is worth visiting. Meals are made to order and the dining area is contemporary, comfortable and casual. Hydration station is also a perk - way to save mother earth and reduce plastic water bottle waste!

Overall, good experience. Decent size restaurant. They have a variety of vegetarian and vegan options. It's an order at the counter and find a table type service. They do provide patio seating. The guy behind the counter was nice and patient with us. We sat outside and it was fairly quiet as it was only us out there. Inside was packed. Average noise.I ordered the beans with chicken and the surf and turf taco. I gave the beans and the chicken 10/10. The beans were delicious and fresh. The broth had a nice taste. Would definitely order this again. I honestly didn't think much of the surf N turf taco. It was ok. I didn't really care for their choice of shrimp. The meat was good though. Gave this taco an 8/10. Salsa 10/10. Chips were overcooked. They looked burnt. Didn't really care for them. Will definitely come back.

I've been wanting to get Thai food as well as take a friend out for a casual dinner. My friend is vegetarian so I chose Plumeria to accommodate. Little did I know this was a very popular destination for your go to vegetarian authentic Thai food needs. We split the Flower Cups, Tom Yum soup, and Cashew Nut with mock chicken (vegan) as the protein. I've had some mock meats before and their chicken was not too far off the real thing in terms of texture. The Flower Cups were great appetizers and have a filling of tofu, peas and carrots served with a cucumber salad/ vinaigrette. The salad was really sweet so I didn't use much of it. The Tom Yum soup was a bit bland, but included a generous portion of beech mushroom, carrots, and tofu. My friend in addition to being vegetarian, could also not eat garlic or onion and they were able to accommodate even further with us to provide everything to us!To end we got their Cheesecake Eggrolls which I was a little surprised to see such a combination, but it was a good combination. We added coconut ice cream to it and it did help with the sweetness. It was a busy Saturday night as our wait was 30-40 minutes, but I enjoyed my meal even though vegetarian is not my standard diet.

"Just ordered this healthy meals through Uber eats. For now they are offering pick up and delivery only. Place is difficult to find but you can order online then wait in front of 7979 Ivahole building and someone form the restaurants will come to the entrance often and calling out names and handling orders.I ordered :The Georgia Blond $14The Big Daddy $15Tots $5.5Give them a try"
"At Royal India you can expect to dine like, well, royalty. The location is in a corner of a shopping center in Del Mar Heights. It's nice, clean, approachable and welcoming. The decor is sort of a modern, trendy take with an obvious Indian influence. Oh and they have an indoor waterfall for good measure.Service was prompt and friendly and our server did an excellent job explaining the menu and offering suggestions when we asked for them.I think I'm going to be full for a week. We had: spicy tandoori wings, paneer naan, coconut pineapple shrimp curry, mango pineapple pineapple salmon curry and because we were already being gluttons, opted for dessert and had gulab jaman (sort of like a rice donut in syrup) and rusmalai (a cheese-based dessert with cream and cardamom, similar to cheesecake). Although all was tasty, we agreed that our favs were the wings, the paneer naan - which I could've honestly just ate for a meal by itself- and the coconut curry shrimp.Royal India also offers up a full menu of wines, beers and cocktails. When in Rome; I ordered a Taj Mahal lager and it paired perfectly with everything. High marks to the staff and chefs for a great evening out. I would 100% go back."
"Good prices and excellent beer if you're a fan of craft brewing. Vegan smash burger was bomb"
"One of our favorite activities to do in San Diego is to spend an evening at Moonlight beach, catch the sunset and wrap up the evening with a delicious dinner at Plumeria! Plumeria is San Diego's well know vegetarian Thai restaurant! This is such a great place for any dietary preference! I still haven't had an omnivore friend complain that I have taken them to Plumeria! They love the food so much and forget that it is missing meat!Be prepared for a wait on a weekend. The tables are cozy and the ambiance is perfect for great meal!Start with some delicious soft spring rolls. This can be followed by their Tom Kha soup. One bowl is never enough , so get the family serving !We love the salads as well! For mains - try the Pad Thai, spicy noodles and Penang curry! All are favorites with our family! The food comes out quickly and I just perfectly adjusted to your spice levels , which they ask about beforehand! Don't try Thai Hot - do yourself a favor on that one! No need for that level of epic bravery! The service has always been great here and we keep coming back for more! Hope Plumeria expands to even more locations in San Diego! Keep up the amazing delivery of vegetarian food in San Diego!"
"My boyfriend and decided to try this place out after passing on a walk back from the beach about two months ago, and now it is one of our favorite spots in Pacific Beach. From 4pm -6pm patrons can enjoy $5 cocktails, wine, beer, AND appetizers. The happy hour appetizers are an absolute must, especially the Curry Fries and Aloo Tikki! You get the same portion for half the price! In addition to Happy Hour, Spice Lounge offers daily specials, our favorites being Meatless Mondays ($11 vegetarian/vegan dishes) and Tuesday Treats (buy one entree get one half off). With quality food at an amazing price and excellent service, you can't go wrong with Spice Lounge."
"Love, love, love the sprout bowl with extra pickeled ginger and roasted jalepeno sauce. Healthy and good service."
"Picked up two nirvana burgers and an order of the tacos with the paneer for protein. We upgraded one of the burgers to masala fries and it was a great decision. They have an easy tablet ordering system with a clear menu which makes the process very easy. The place is very casual, with a few tables inside. The food was delicious; the paneer tacos were flavorful and soft, while the chickpea burger base had a great crunch. Tip: recommend skipping the spicy sauce as a dipping sauce bc it's not needed and doesnt really add to the meal."
"I am vegan. When I have to fly to the East Coast, I usually pack a sandwich or two or try to find something I can eat in the airport. Not this time! I took Kelly B.'s advice and got a couple of sandwiches at San Diego Vegan Market. Score!I got the Turky N Cheddar sandwich and the Ciabatta Steak (from the Grab and Go case). Both were tasty and hearty. I also got some cheez balls to go with them. This will now be my go-to before every transcontinental flight. Can't wait to try the ham sandwich next.I love this place. Thanks, Sunny!P.S. While you are in the neighborhood, check out Maya's Cookies."
"The food is delicious One bite into it, and turned yourself into a rabbit hahahahahahCause, you won't be looking up anytime soon until the bowl is cleaned!!!!OMG!!I got there before the lunch rush, and was able to enjoyed this nutrition meal Sitting there and sort people watching. Saw a meter maid marking cars for their next rounds of issuing tickets ... lolAs much as I enjoyed this dish but I still have to say this---- ¿Dónde está la carne? Hahahhahaha"
"Hidden would be an accurate way to describe the location of Kin Saep. It's a corner suite in a random plaza off Market St in the Chollas View neighborhood which housed a previous Lao eatery. I can't say it's the nicest area, however the Lao and Thai street food produced by the kitchen was good eating. The capacity was small with maybe six tables that could seat about 20 diners. Opposite the tables was a beverage station in which the staff could make refreshments like fresh sugar cane drinks. The two-page menu listed appetizers, salads, soups, noodle soups, noodles, rice, curries, and house specials as the categories. My meal consisted of Fried Meatballs, House Fried Rice with a combo of shrimp and calamari, and a CoCo Cane drink. The meatballs were served as two skewers with four pieces each. A sweet house sauce came on the side as a dip for the fried meat. Three shrimp and some calamari were added to a plate of stir-fried rice containing egg, onion, basil, chili paste, and light soy sauce. Fresh sugar cane stalks were placed in an extractor to harvest the juice that was mixed with slices of young coconut. The fried rice was light from the type of soy sauce used, yet it was hearty with the medium sized shrimp and calamari. The sugar cane juice was the perfect chaser to wash down the food. What stood out during my visit was the excellent customer service. The wife of the owner staffed the service counter and made sure the kitchen was operating efficiently. There was an error in the price for an item, and she generously provided a discount on the check. If the distance wasn't so far, then I'd return more frequently to support Kin Saep."
"I go here once a year and this is my third year. I always get the loaded nachos and at first, I was blown away when I took my first bite of the nachos. The cheese...sooo good! Made with yams and sun flower seeds. But as each year goes by, I feel like it's not as good. This time, I barely got any cheese. Only in the visible places and not by the layer. It was just loaded with toppings and they were skimpy on the cheese which I think is the most important ingredient.I also got the mushroom asada burrito. Didn't taste any cheese, the flavors were lacking and had lots of rice. Not really asada flavor but mushroom.Last year I had the cream of mushroom soup and that was light. Very good."
"My daughter went through a vegetarian/vegan stage a while back to improve her cholesterol and overall health. It worked too! So I had looked at this place for the photos and reviews on Yelp after she mentioned she wanted to go on her upcoming birthday weekend. Everything looked just fine and I was actually somewhat intrigued to find out for myself.Luckily my favorites were the wonton soup and the avocado rolls, which were the items I ordered. Excellent taste on both! I also nibbled off my kid's plate of orange chicken and the lady's kung pao and honestly the flavor and texture were very good, all the while knowing that this wasn't real chicken. That's the part that gets me. I would rather not know! The fiery shrimp appetizer was flavored well, but I was slightly let down with the rubbery texture. This did not bother anyone else..The Thai tea- a fantastic example no different than any Thai restaurant would serve! I can say now I've been to 2 vegan places and they were both worthy! You somehow do feel a little lighter or less full at a place like this. Just what my body needs, but I know I'd have a hard time keeping on a diet like this. Extra pounds would fall off quickly. I think I'll just try to move and walk more."
"On Wednesday they have 20% off their vegan menu. Which is quite substantial. The pear goat salad was so crazy good. The flavors and pear was perfect. Enjoyed it alot. The triple later brownie was pretty good as well. We got the meatball sandwich and a vegan pizza but not sure what happened to the photos. (Found them and posted) Maybe we ate it to quickly before I was able to take a photo but they were both delicious as well. The vegan Mac and cheese was also really good. I'd say probably one of the best vegan Mac and cheese I've had. They did it right!!!I'd totally come back. Service was good. We did see this place during the pandemic and we finally were able to try it out and we were not disappointed at all!!!"
"My friend and I decided to come here as neither us had been here for quite a few years as we don't generally go to this area. Besides, it's a very healthy alternative and jf you are looking for a vegetarian or vegan eatery this is a good place. It was inspired by the creative and spiritual leader Sri Chimoy. His purpose was for world peace including a lot of beautiful paintings thar are well known all over the world, given to charities and for sale. If you're not familiar with him check him out.We arrived around 12:30 and it was virtually empty which was nice and quiet. This is a very small restaurant and always clean. We decided to have real cheese and not vegan with our meal and sat a nice table by the window where it was warm. My friend ordered the chips, salsa, chili and corn bread. She enjoyed it and ordered the Nirvana tea and I had a delicious pineapple, banana, mango smoothie. I enjoyed my portobello quesadilla and a mild flavorful salsa. ($18.00 for mine)We were waited by a very nice woman who gave us very good service. This restaurant opened in 1986 and at that time good luck finding anything healthy to eat.The food is simple but, I guarantee you won't get any indigestion. ; )) It's really wonderful to see a restaurant that has survived over the years and is still here.Being staffed by disciples."
"Not very busy on a Friday night. Didn't have a reservation and was able to walk in and get seated right away. Short walk from the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter. Nice looking interior with exposed brick. Plenty of booths and tables. The salmon was great. Seasoned well and cooked perfectly, it was flaky and tender, if a bit small. Good sauce with a bit of heat. Came with some steamed veggies. The lemon chicken was also very good. Their menu is pretty large with plenty of vegetarian options."
"Plant based fast food restaurant with the drive thru. Evolution really looks like a hole in the wall and it haspretty sizable menu. Restaurant does not have the best appearance although the food is good. Burgers and good while Buffalo chicken fries are amazing. Carne asada fries were nothing special. Equally so was the lack of many dessert choices....Service was good - but not terribly fast. I would say Evolution is somewhere between 3 and 4 stars and rounding up for novelty approach!!!"
"My daughter recommended this establishment and now I know why. This is simple, wholesome, authentic, vegetarian, South Indian cuisine without thrills and frills. The service was friendly and was attentive when called upon. I came here for the Thali, which is an assortment of flavors and small dishes presented in tiffins in a circular manner. You can ask for refills on the small dishes but not the "breads"Delicious. So good.I loved the rasam (pepper water) and the dal and the tomato chutney.Lovely.The only question mark was that the business had a "B" grade on the window. There was no explanation and there didn't seem to be any concerns by all the patrons who were 95% Indian customers. Love it."
"Wow what a big surprise. It's inside a convenient store. They had tons of options both vegetarian and regular. My husband had Carne Asada taco. It was very tasty and I had a smoothie. We will definitely be stopping by again. Service was very good and quick."
"What a little gem! We were looking for vegan options while staying with a friend. This was a good balance of vegan and non-vegan options that our group could all enjoy. The vegan menu was extensive (a whole page plus some items embedded within their regular menu). Hubby ordered the vegan California burrito and said it tastes every good and authentic. I ordered the vegan carne asada fajitas. The corn tortillas were very good and not cheap and It was quite decorated to look like an authentic Mexican joint with a giant piñata upon entry. There is a small lot in the back with shared parking. Service was friendly and staff was able to quickly answer questions about vegan items. The busser was also very considerate and attentive to our table. Can't wait to return!"
"The vegan cheesecake is top tier. Literally the best dessert I've ever had. It doesn't even taste like a "substitute" it's just perfect. The only reason I won't give 5 stars is the service. Nobody is obligated to be cheery 24/7 but it's really awkward feeling like I'm disturbing the people who work here and that's usually the vibe I get."
"I've tried Underdog on two separate occasions, and their food is consistently delightful! From the excellent banh mi hot dog to their fabulous burgers, Underdog offers something that can cater to most anyone's craving. The food options are quite creative and filling which still being affordably priced. The owner is super cool, and I love that they're all vegan so you don't have to modify anything. They also offer specials which are amazing as well. Note that they have modified their location recently and are no longer strictly at the gas station. Follow them on social media to find out where they'll be. Our favorite current spot they pop up is at Seek Beer which has ample seating to enjoy Underdog's wonderful food alongside a delicious beer."
"My sister wanted to try this place out...whoa!AMBIANCE:Parking: You're in the Convoy so good luck. There's plaza parking which is competitive and street parking which is also competitive as well. Seating: Inside seating for small groups (solo to an adjustable six)Vibes: Convoy is an awesome place if you're looking for good Asian cuisine. The spot itself is shared with the original RakiRaki Ramen. One side is the original place where all the ramen is made, Yasai is on the other side where they make all the vegan dishes. The spot itself is a bit calmer with a nice setup guided by natural lighting, pleasant sights of the chefs preparing vegan dishes, and a wide display of alcoholic beverages. It's family-friendly but I noticed a lot of older adults around.FOOD:The Classic $18~ (Recommend)Wow! I barely recognized the difference! Well done! The mochi noodles were thick and delightful and the broth was warming. I enjoyed the mix of bamboo, seaweed, pumpkin, bean sprouts, green onions, garlic chips, and charred tofu! A vegan umami delight!CUSTOMER SERVICE:Awesome! Our orders came in relatively quickly!TL; DR OVERALL:4.5 Stars. Amazing!!!! I am quite impressed with this place! The food was delicious and the experience was pleasant. This place is more than ramen, I enjoyed their vegan sushi rolls. It's impressive as you can barely tell if it's vegan, a lot of work they put in from the presentation, texture, and taste! This place is truly one of a kind as my sister said there are not a lot of places like this in the Bay Area!TIPS:* Original location next door!* Yasai means vegetables in Japanese"
