"Thaipan Kitchen is located inside the famous Pyramid on Miramar Rd. They are the sister location to Ping Yang Thai which operates a vendor booth at the Market on 8th Food Hall in National City. The suite was tiny so if you wanted to dine on-site, there were several tables scattered in the atrium on the ground level. The place is currently open on weekdays from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. Breakfast service ends at 11:00.The menu was a blend of Filipino, Japanese, and Thai cuisines which differs from its older sibling. The diversity of offerings ranged from tocilog to musubi to karaage to tom yum soup to pad thai. The chef had to be quite skilled to be able to produce such a variety. I showed up near the end of breakfast hours and picked a Spam Musubi and the Spamsilog. The former was decent in size and priced at $3.50.The Spamsilog was a bowl of garlic fried rice topped with three pieces of Spam, two fried eggs, and green onions. A small cup of vinegar sauce was provided on the side. This was a classic Filipino breakfast item that had lots of salt and acid from the Spam and sauce, respectively. The serving size was respectable for $14.50.I always thought the Pyramid was strictly office space and never knew that an eatery was doing business there until now. Most of the neighboring suites were being renovated which made it feel empty on the main floor. From what I tried at Thaipan Kitchen, the experience was around a four star rating."

I ordered the pad Thai with chicken and made it spicy along with beef fried rice. Everything was exactly how I expect both dishes to taste and you can tell the quality of ingredients is top notch. I have to note also my delivery driver got lost, so my food wasn't fresh out of the store and it was still delicious. We'll definitely be placing more orders in the future."

"From the minds that brought to you Plumeria comes, Kiin Extraordinary Thai. My family loves Plumeria so when we asked if Kiin was a sister restaurant it was a given that we'd sit down for dinner here at Skydeck in Del Mar. The whole food hall is gorgeous and the ambiance is casual and trendy. I didn't take any pictures but Kiin was dressed up for the Halloween season so yay for being in the spirit. Food was good. Portions were sizable. 1st place: Kiin Noodle Soup-generous chunks of braised beef (or duck if you prefer) in a five-spice broth. Its advertised as a Thai street food. Runners up: Pad see ew, standard though not spectacular. Steeamed fish with spicy lime vinaigrette, was okay bc the fish seemed bland to me still. Wish was in the race: We love the larb at Plumeria. No larb here. We love the flower cups at Plumeria. None here too. They should add those on. Would be a hit with the Del Mar crowd."
"My hubby ordered a Thai iced coffee and I got the Thai iced tea. We sipped on our drinks while waiting for our appetizers. The restaurant was quite empty, so I wasn't sure why it took a long time to get our food.I was excited to try their beef jerky and beef salad! The jerky was a bit tough and salad had a weird flavor. The entrees had a nice presentation, but was lacking in flavor. The fried rice had plenty of plump shrimp though. The crab Thai was interesting and probably my favorite dish there."
"Street side Thai kitchen is a fabulous Thai restaurant located in the heart of North Park. You definitely don't want to sleep on this place, they have delicious food, super friendly service, and I appreciate that they are open late.We stumbled upon this restaurant after a late night music venue attendance. On a Saturday night past 11pm options were limited on this block. We weren't feeling a bar type restaurant and we were happy when yelp pointed us in this direction showing they were open until midnight. The restaurant itself is very cute and welcoming. Traditional Thai system decor and the atmosphere was causal. Very comfortable as the tables and booths were spread out. We were also really impressed with how large the menu was here as you could easily find something for anyone. The staff here are very friendly and hospitable. They welcomed us and sat us quickly (it was late so the restaurant was empty). The waitress was quick to provide us with menus and get our drinks going. The gentlemen that took our order was also super friendly and helped me with suggestions when I was looking for their most popular pork belly dish.Between the four of us we ordered crispy garlic wings, crispy pork pad see ew, a pork belly dish with rice & a fried egg, and pad Thai. The food here is phenomenal. Truly delicious Thai food with great range in flavors. The dishes were plentiful, great portions. Also despite it being late into the night, they put a lot of love into their dishes. The pork belly dish I had was phenomenal (sorry can't find the name of it). It was a crispy & fatty bits of pork belly in a tasty sauce, with some veggies and fried Thai basil leaves, with some white rice and an over medium fried egg. Heavenly. All of the food was great. I would say staff, food, and ambiance were all a 5/5. I'd highly recommend this spot if your looking for good yet causal Thai food in SD. Definitely adding this spot on the SD rotation list!"
"Delicious Thai food. Friendly service, and had no trouble being seated with a large family party."
"loaded fries, Thai style hamburgers, Its in the corner of the shopping mall. this is a physical location from the food truck. We all know and love. After 4 PM, deliver on base with a five dollar delivery fee. They do not have restrooms so keep that in mind."
"My family and I Enjoy going this restaurant.Their service is wonderful, very attentive to their customers!Their restaurant has a relaxing ambiance- offering small tables OR booth sitting that can seat four people..They serve a variety of authentic Thai dishes! My family and I like the fact that each entreé has a pretty good portion, a big enough portion for all of us to share. We had ordered Shrimp Pad Thai, Pineapple Fried Rice, Pad See Ew w/tofu,Chicken Pad Thai, Panang Curry Pork, and Peanut Butter Steak.Aida is always the friendliest worker here!!If only they had a bigger parking lot!!"
"I thought this was a ghost kitchen when it first popped up on the delivery apps, because of the name. Thankfully years of Yelp photos showed me this spot is legit. We loved our order! Starting with the Tom kha- loaded with mushrooms and chicken! Often restaurants will be skimpy with chicken, but not this spot! We shared the pineapple fried rice and pad see ew. Both were excellent as well. Much better than some of the other local options, although not as incredible as some of the top Thai I've had in SD. For a neighborhood option when we just want to feast in our pajamas- it's top tier. We ordered our dishes either mild spice or medium spice. Medium was perfect to get our noses running a little without overpowering the dish. We were glad to have something mild to sooth our palate every few bites. Everything was great, we'll definitely order from here again!"

This hidden gem in Serra Mesa (next to Montgomery Field) is not to be missed! Service is friendly and food is tasty! What to get: The best crab fried rice in town...hands down! So flavorful and full of large pieces of lump crab...it's like winning the crab fried rice lottery! Their beef pad see ew and chicken pad Thai are winners as well! We're also fans of their Tom kha (coconut lemongrass soup)...we like it with chicken and shrimp.Support this family run business...they really do go above and beyond!

Probably the best food to get in this area tbh. Their food is delicious as always but I will say the spice level differs from who is cooking. I love spicy, so I don't mind but I notice when I order medium spicy it's different almost each time. If you can't handle spicy ask for mild alllll the time regardless if you want a little bit. The service is great too!! I call in and it's super convenient.

Drove down from Los Angeles to celebrate my father in laws birthday. Is always a great time here. The food is amazing and the customer service there is A+. The restaurant was not busy because we were the first one. The restaurant was clean and relaxing as well, family atmosphere!

Met up for lunch with a couple of girlfriends who also live in suburbia... We appreciated the convenient location at Sky Deck and enjoyed the open air, modern decor. Service was pleasant and accommodating as well.I arrived late so only managed a photo of my own order, the Chef's Signature Braised Beef Panang Curry served on a bed of steamed green beans and carrots with choice of rice (I picked organic brown, which came adorably shaped in a heart - perhaps to emphasize its heart-healthy and antioxidant attributes? ;). While the beef was certainly tender and the lemongrass-infused-in-coconut-milk sauce flavorful, the dish as a whole was what I'd expect from any good Thai resto rather than "extraordinary" as marketed. :P

The food is ok, their mild version of spicy is already medium level of spicy for me so it took me a while to finish. We also tried their Panang Curry and it is the same, also good. Worth the try.

Delicious Thai cuisine at a reasonable price, served by a very friendly staff. Casual atmosphere and comfortable seating. Pad See Ew and Khao Soi were both excellent!
Visit Restaurant Page"Yummy!!! This place has always been one of my faves since moving here in 1997. You cannot go wrong with their fabulous chicken egg roll. Best in town. I usually get it with a side of stir fried broccoli. It makes for a healthy and delicious meal. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating so it is pup friendly!!Service is usually quick and friendly!!"
"This month our team lunch was held at Taste of Thai in Rancho Bernardo. Lots of tempting choices on the menu. I went for the roasted duck noodle soup with egg noodles. Nice snap to the noodles and a delicious mild egg flavor. I opted for spice level 1 and the soup had a ton of flavors. Duck was tender and full of 5 spice powder based flavor. This is my 2nd favorite duck noodle soup in town.2nd visit I tried the Thai chicken. Reminds me of the soy sauce chicken my mom made. She filled a huge pot with a mixture of soy sauce and herbs they cooked a whole chicken in there with low heat. Chicken was tender and moist, bursting with soy sauce flavor. Delicious. White rice was moist and I enjoyed the mild flavor.Water and ice was cold and refreshing. Their water filter does a better job than the carbon based filter I have at home.Staff was nice, attentive and efficient. Next time I think I'll try the fried rice and fried chicken wings."
"Date of visit: October 29, 2023My mom wanted to have a lunch date with me after Mass, and she hadn't been to California Thai Cafe in a while. And since I'd never been, I figured, "Why not?"As the restaurant was relatively empty, we got seated quickly. We placed our orders - Seafood Pad Thai for my mom, the Crying Tiger for myself, and an order of spring rolls for the two of us. The spring rolls and peanut sauce were decent enough, and my mom's pad thai was excellent (it's more of a fish pad thai, but the deep fried fish fillet was meaty enough). The Crying Tiger, however, was disappointing. I've had versions of it where the beef came out sizzling hot; however, not only was the beef cold, it wasn't even spicy! (I said I wanted my order mild, but not THAT mild.)While the server was attentive, and the restaurant clean, there was some confusion over the free drink offered upon check in on the Yelp app. They said the coupon wasn't good anymore... but they still gave me a Thai iced tea gratis nonetheless. (I should also mention that the sodas are served in chilled cans, with no refills.)Although I was disappointed in the Crying Tiger, California Thai Cafe does offer fried calamari and chicken wings - plus I would like to have their Pad See Ew. Perhaps other visits are in line after work."
"Looking for a restaurant near our hotel ran into Thai Island. Looks like at one time it was vibrant and popular but things appeared a bit dated. One other issue was while service was good, it seemed off no condiments were on the table. Our meal was freshly prepared and very tasty.Again, nice place but more old school."
"We noticed this new joint walking past because the smells emanating from the kitchen was tantalizing. Turns out this place is having a soft opening right now- set to officially open 8/1/24. The owner was working the wok by himself but still took the time to greet us and explain how to order. The store is small with just a few chairs/tables out front. The food however was super tasty. The noodles were perfectly chewy (though not too much). The flavors were great and the noodles were not overly oily- some of the freshest and tastiest pad Thais I've had in a while. The portions are also large enough to share with a friend. I'm looking forward to returning for some more noodles. I may try one of the other regions since I did north this time."
"Came by for a late brunch with my friend. There were a few people dining. Street parking is available. They have outside and inside dining. We opted for inside dining, we looked at the menu prior to this visit. Our waitress Pink took our food and drink orders. The food came out fairly quickly and it was super fresh! We had family style dining. We ordered the tangerine "chicken", satay "chicken", spicy noodles level 10 with fried tofu & "beef" and a second order of spicy noodles spice level Zero with fried tofu. The drinks we had were Sapporo and watermelon smash martini (sake base). I wish they had liquor as an option; they only serve wine, beers and sake. The satay chicken and tangerine chicken were super crispy, great flavor and came out piping hot! The satay chicken was marinated vegan chicken; it came with peanut sauce and cucumber salad. Tangerine chicken was topped off with their sweet and tangy sauce; served with steamed broccoli and white/brown rice. Our main entree were the spicy noodles with fried tofu and beef. I ordered a level 10 spicy but it was not spicy enough for me. Spicy noodle was made with wide noodles sautéed with onions, bell peppers, basil and carrots in a chili garlic sauce. My friend can't handle spice; so he ordered the spicy noodle level zero with fried tofu. The noodles, vegan beef and tofu were cooked perfectly with great amount of flavor. For dessert we split the mango over sticky rice, it was pretty darn good! The mango, the sticky rice with sweet coconut milk on topped was delicious. We both enjoyed each appetizers and entree. The staff were friendly. The restaurant was open and airy. They also have bathrooms for customers."
"Pretty tasty Thai food. I had a simple dish of veggies and chicken stir fry since I was looking for a healthier low sodium meal. Place is run by a nice Thai family. They have mango sticky rice too which I want to try next."
"I spent a week at a workshop and dorming on SDSU's campus and I had to escape and get real food because cafeteria food is not it.But guess what is? La Moon Thai Eatery! I had Pad Thai with Tofu and cream cheese wontons. I really enjoyed the pad Thai. They let us customize the spice level (on a scale of 1-10) and they nailed my specifications. The portion size was very large and I had leftovers for lunch the next day. So, not only did La Moon rescue me from the cafeteria once, but twice! Friendly and hard working brothers are running the family business! Get out there and support your local small business restaurant, you won't be disappointed!"
"Ordered delivery for lunch on UberEats and I got their IB Steak plate. It comes with steamed vegetables and a side of white rice! I didn't eat the rice, but for portion sizes, it was definitely enough for me. Other than no utensils, which was probably just forgotten in the bag, the steak was a bit hard to bite. That aside, it was so delicious with their steak sauce! It was limey, salty, and peppery without it being too much. I ordered spicy and there were lots of sliced peppers, but it wasn't a burn-my-mouth spice. It was nice to try this spot out for delivery, although, I cannot give a full rating for the dining experience. I did enjoy the steak plate and was satisfied for lunch."
"Harborside Cuisine is a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic Lao food. The Mok Nor Mai steamed in banana leaves is a standout dish that's warm, savory, and herby. It's like your best grandma, momma, or auntie cooked it themselves! The grilled Lao sausage is always a hit, and the papaya salad is a perfect complement. Just be careful with the heat if you're not used to it! The restaurant has so much more authentic Lao food like Kao Piek, Lao beef jerky, Mok Pa, Som Pa, Jeow Bong, Nak Khao, Lao pho, and fried pork skins. If you haven't had Lao food yet, then you should try it here! If you're a heat seeker and love good food, then I highly recommend. It'll change your life."
"It's been many years since I've last had Sab-E-Lee and omg I fell in love with it all over again, even harder. I visited on a Saturday evening recently with no wait for 2 people, but a pretty full restaurant. We shared the Yellow Curry with Chicken, Tom Yum Soup with Shrimp, Thai Fried Rice with Beef, white rice, and Thai iced tea. Everything tasted great and had a lot of flavor. Service was nice. Will be back real soon!"
"Back again! My mom and I went back here and it was as good as ever. We got the regular (non-vegan) thai tea and it was delicious. My mom got the Ramen Tom Yum and it had a good flavor and lots of well made dumplings filled with chicken. I got the mussaman curry again and I loved it, like usual."
"Been here twice . Both times where good lady is friendly and the soup is delicious. I like to come in right when they open . It's peaceful and no customers."
"I've been going to Sala Thai since we lived in La Mesa back in the 90's and I still make it a point to visit when I'm down in San Diego. We drove all the way out from Coronado after trying a higher rated Thai place that was horrible The food is hands down the best Thai food I've ever had and I have been to many, many, Thai restaurants. The location is not impressive but I'm there for the food, not expensive ambience Their portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable Some of the complaints are really petty;"My waitress didn't check on me but the owner did"They all help out and bring the food out as soon as it is cooked so don't expect them to wait while you work your way through salad or soup or whatever I have always found the service to be great and just go along with the way the Thai's serveAnyway if you're in the mood for great inexpensive Thai food check them out"

"THAI "HIDDEN" KITCHEN (3.7 stars)Craving (authentic) Thai without the need to go to Convoy. It's a mom and pop kind of place, nearly a one person kitchen. - FOOD: good- SERVICE: good but takes 20m for food - PRICE: decent- AMBIANCE: hidden and tiny Would have never discovered this place if I didn't look on yelp. It's hidden in the middle of SeaView corporate buildings. Authentic Thai food cooked by Thai people serving business people on their lunch breaks and a sprinkle of college students. It's an interesting spot, upon arrival there were two cash registers - one for another business and another for this restaurant. The menus are laid out infront of the register (don't forget to flip them as there are more items on the back to select). Typical Thai food selection but I saw Singapore Noodles (yet no picture of it on yelp). I will be the guinea pig for yall. Wait time "15 - 20min" easily turns to "25min" (keep the wait time in mind).:: ORDER ::SINGAPORE NOODLES (~$14) - rice vermicelli noodles with curry powder, served with green onion, bell pepper, onion, and garlic. Choice of protein: chicken. Their version is ok. I use to eat Singapore Noodles once a week in SF and hold that experience with high standards. SD does not quite execute Singapore Noodles in the way I remember them and finding a place for my fix has been the challenge. This place does it better than many other places I've tried the noodles in SD and for now would be the place I'd go to order it. However, I do feel the flavors in this dish need to be a bit more elevated. But why did my Singapore Noodles kind of tasted like Pad See Ew flavor with Singapore Noodle appearance (that should not be the case). When the food arrived, the appearance looked as it is expected, had that yellow tint from the curry powder BUT the curry powder's presence was faint. I'd love a little more curry flavor to come thru in the dish - I feel that's what makes the Singapore Noodles pop. All the other ingredients were cut so largely (but chicken pieces, big vegetable pieces). My chicken wasn't as soft and kind of chewy and dry but still edible, not the best but edible. Vegetable ratio was fine but wish there were a little more green onion and onions. And the noodles, something about it was kind of dry. Yes, the dish was oily (at the bottom) but the noodles just felt dry. The description forgot to mention egg, there were small pieces of scrambled eggs. I still ate my meal and felt semi-satisfied. RECOMMEND (if you craving "like" Singapore Noodles).WARNING. Order was "for here" but served in cheap to-go plates. The bottom quickly soaks in grease. When asked for "to go" containers they just provide a lid and rubber bands. Also, watch your clothes... all plate soak like this on the tables and they don't wipe the tables down so expect greasy spots that can get on your clothes. Will be back to try other things. Until the next review..."
"This is a very local Thai restaurant that is delicious, and they impressively whip up orders in a small kitchen catering to the massive demand. Recommend calling in to place an order and see how long it will take - for us, around 6pm Sunday, it was a 20 min wait for calling in, and DoorDash is 40-50 min, and by the time we went to pick up the food in person, new orders were 30-40 min. Calling in will ensure the menu prices as DoorDash of course will mark up each item by a few dollars, so it adds up. Timing is more or less accurate, +/- 10 min or so, which is not too bad.We got the chicken pad Thai, crab fried rice, roasted duck curry, and lahb gai. The pad Thai as per usual is good and fairly standard. The crab fried rice has generous amounts of crab and is excellent in itself, but if you want to be fancy, you can pair it with the duck curry. The duck curry is very flavorful and a bit spicy as we requested medium, and there is generous amounts of meat too (along with potatoes, etc). The lahb gai has mint and lettuce and ground chicken, and is a good option for the hot weather.Seating is extremely limited - people will be standing around to claim a seat the moment a party leaves, but we got lucky to get a seat for the 2 of us to enjoy the food as soon as it was ready."
"Today was the first time I remember ordering from this establishment for delivery through a third party app. Very happy with all of the flavors and it was mostly well packaged. The spring rolls in the sampler appetizer platter were lackluster but everything else in that box was delicious. The chicken and pork in the dishes were not dried out and I loved the Tom yum soup. Will try the Tom kha next time."
"I always love coming here! Thailand is a place I desire to see one day and hope I do! Walking in the door, the decor makes me feel like I am already in Thailand! Very beautiful decor and so relaxing and calming. The music is super calming for the mood. The food is authentic and delicious. I ordered off of the lunch menu and had the perfect portion size of food. I decided to start out with a Thai Iced Tea which was sweet and refreshing. Then I ordered an appetizer of vegetable spring rolls which were crispy and flavorful. The sweet sauce for dipping the rolls was out of the world spectacular! For my lunch entree,I ordered shrimp with green curry sauce with white rice which was spicy but perfectly tasty. This is a jewel of a place. A total treasured restaurant one must try! 5-Stars!"
"Service here is great! I visit often to pick up a meal to bring to a family member. I am always greeted with a smile, clean restaurant, cozy atmosphere, and my order ready to go at the time my order confirmation email indicates. Food is consistently tasty and the staff is conscious of my family member's dietary requests. Thank you Thai Ladle! You're amazing!"
"I love 55 Thai! This one was located inside a convenience store which was kind of cool actually! I always get the yellow curry with chicken and a Thai tea or Thai iced coffee. Their yellow curry is absolutely so delicious and a little spicy! I've gotten it a handful of times and the quality is great every time. They make the food relatively fast too, but I usually order online and it's ready when I get there! Some seating outside which is nice too!"
"Corner Thai took over the previous Thai establishment and I actually like this place better. Their menu is huge! Mainly Thai dishes with a mix of Lao, Vietnamese and Chinese dishes. We came for dinner and a few days later came for lunch during 11-3pm. They also have happy hour from 3:30-6pm. Has patio seating and 6 tables inside. We've ordered:-curry puffs -mixed tempura-orange chicken-pad Thai (spice level 5)-crab fried rice (spice level 7)-Panang curry-garlic wings-beef pad see ew lunch (spice level 7)-combo drunken noodles lunch (level 7)Pad Thai and crab fried rice are always our go to when it's our first time dining. Both dishes had great flavors but too wet, almost soggy. Great crab portions. We took it home and dried it out a bit and it tasted excellent. The lunch special came with a side of soup of the day, salad, egg roll and cream cheese wonton. Great portions.Overall, Corner Thai was decent except the wings had a smell to it like freezer burn fried in oil. The flavor and texture also lacking.Spice level 7 seems to be the right mark for me giving that kick at the end where you could still taste the flavors."
"Super tasty! I was across the hall at Stone Brewing and while the beer was tasty (and strong), I wanted something simple as I had been traveling. Happy hour is from 4:30-7. I had the Gyoza and glass of white. Choice of wine was Chardonnay or Sauvignon blanc. I said you choose and I ended up with the Sauvignon blanc. Quick. Easy. Attentive service. Being next to the train station it's not touristy at all. Locals, a couple of cops were all in attendance while I quickly noshed. Those that know, know. Seating is limited."
