Lo S. "AWESOME KARAOKE!!!!! Most songs are Korean and system is in Korean which is fine obviously if you've ever been to karaoke before. Idk why people give this place less than 5 stars because you can bring your own FOOD and drink. There's a bonchon next door. Literally that's a 5 star reason alone. This place is so cool because it overflows into the sushi restaurant next door. An incredibly sweet woman took care of us. The man popping out drinks was so fast and sweet as well. I was tempted by churros... but didn't do it...... maybe next time.....We were in room #1 on the sushi side and the sound isolation was REALLY good! Wow! I was super impressed by that. The song selection was great lol. Japanese song selection was a little strange, but they still have some classics like Teresa Teng. They didn't have my favorite Speed song Wake Me Up but it's ok I just sing that at home 24/7 anyway. I think English selection was wonderful. They had a LOT of Radiohead including True Love Waits?!?!!? That's like literally a b side... what the hell? I kept wondering how that was even possible?Lol btw some of the Japanese lyrics were wrong which makes me laugh as a non native speaker. So for that alone it's worth coming here! But this is really a great place and I can't wait to spend more time here. We went over 2 hours and they only charged us for 2... 감사합니다 so much. Really classy quality place. It was $95 for 2 soju 3 water 2 hours which doesn't even seem right, lol. Real sweethearts."

Normally, I would go on Wednesdays for their all day happy hour but I switched things up by going on Sunday to try their burger deal, which ends at 6 pm. Every food I eat here has been good - the wings, the burger and the onion rings. Service has always been friendly, quick, and accommodating. This bar is LGBT friendly, so the pour is always generous and the service polite & friendly.Price: $Recommendation: Happy hour all day Wednesday & $14 burger and beer on Sundays. I don't recommend going here on weekends because of the crowd but if you do want to get on the list for karaoke, expect to wait an hour (on Fridays & Saturdays). The karaoke list usually opens at 7 pm and they have a smoking patio as well as another extended patio that they open up on weekends. Current deals also include $2 jello shots!"

There is plenty of seating elsewhere and most of their pool tables are open. I'm sure this place gets busy so make sure to get there early and grab your spot. The new ownership has really done a good job with the place. Personally, I am looking forward to going back, grabbing a beer and enjoying a game of pool or three. I can't wait to try the food from their kitchen too. Cheryl (the owner) was always easy to reach as she worked with me for months in making sure the party was special. She was easily able to accommodate all of my requests from hiring the birthday girl's favorite band to play (The Innocent Bystanders), putting up as many decorations that we wanted, bringing in our own food, storing the cake in their fridge and even turning off all of the lights for a "surprise"! The bartenders were also very friendly and helpful. Thank you Cheryl and the Cheers crew for helping to pull off a fun and memorable party!"

Served up by our bartender du jour Chad. Hell yes!The Regal is a fairly small place. The bar itself has seating for about 20 and there is a smattering of tables. A pool table takes up some floor space and there is shuffleboard along the wall. There is an uncovered patio out back. The Regal is dog friendly. We met Louie while we were there. He was such a cool dog. Fresh from the groomer, Louie was loooking pretty spiffy! As we were sitting there, I had a strong case of Deja vu. I had been here before. Then it hit me. As a 20-something college student nearly 30 years ago, I was in this very bar when it was called Joe and Andy's. Some guys from one of my classes were in a band and had a gig at then Joe and Andy's. There is a small enclave behind the door, that's where the drum kit was set up. The guitarist was on the right and the bassist was in front of the door. The crowd clearly exceeded the legal occupancy total. I remember thinking:"If there's a fire, all of our lives are in the hands of a bass player". LOL! Thankfully, there was no fire. Compared to the dive that Joe and Andy's was, The Regal is indeed quite regal! Enough of memory lane. Becky and I had just one each while at The Regal. Our bar tab was 10 bucks, hell yeah we'd return!"

Emmett T. "The Gaslamplighter is a new, upscale cocktail bar and karaoke lounge in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter owned by the same group as The Lamplighter in Mission Hills. It's located in a narrow suite between Bang Bang and Side Bar on Market St. The current operating hours are from 6:30 pm to 2:00 am on Thursday through Sunday. The inside had a glamorous speakeasy decor with a small stage in the back for live musical acts and karaoke. The latter was unique as you don't find many cocktail bars where customers are asked to sign up and sing.I didn't catch a glimpse of the bar bites menu, but I did scour the menu of drinks closely. A dozen Craft Cocktails spanned two pages while another page was dedicated to three Coffee-Based Cocktails and two Zero-Proof Cocktails. Beer, wine, Evian water, and Red Bull made up another page. Champagne and bottle service were available for the high rollers including a $10,000 King Louis combination package. The bartender recommended the Tranquillo versus the Dolce Vita from the zero-proof choices. Pineapple, lime, and honey were mixed with non-alcoholic tequila in a tajin-rimmed glass. The taste was more tart from the lime than sweet from the honey. There was a singer who crooned some R&B hits before taking a break and giving way to those who wanted to karaoke. I was not around when and if anyone was brave enough to hit the stage. The vibe of the Gaslamplighter was mellow so it's a neat spot to visit if you enjoy a less noisy ambiance."

Street parking is also not too bad too!- SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT -It was a bit quiet when we first came in, no music or tvs going on. Just slightly weird vibe but luckily they put on the SDSU game later in the night. The dart boards are electronic and take cash only - we had to ask the bartender for their darts as well. There's also billiard tables and plenty of seating around the bar.- EXPERIENCE -The dart boards took a $5 and gave 30 credits. Later we tested if they gave us more credits the more we paid and it was true - $1 gave 4 credits. There's rules pinned to the wall next to the boards, but we stuck with the classic game of counting down from 301/501/701. The box of darts the bartender gave came with extra tips and darts in case some got bent or broken.Drinks were fairly priced - two beers and a high noon was $20.We had a fun time and the price to pay was worth.- OVERALL -Would definitely come back if our friends wanted to play more darts or maybe billiards next ti"

Juliana C. "It's a love hate relationship I have with Las Isla Filipinas but I still keep coming back! I've been coming here a few years now and it's sooooooo painful placing a phone order and waiting for the food! But the food is good! Isn't that a crap shoot?!? They're always hosting birthday parties here. There has never been a time I've been here that there wasn't at least three birthdays being celebrated with karaoke! Which makes it extremely loud inside. So if you come here, be prepared to wait. We haven't actually dined in here since we found this place during the pandemic. But we've been here plenty of times. The fastest way is to phone in your order and then burn time getting there and it may be ready by the time you get there. There have been times I've told them, their phone isn't working. So when that happens you have no choice but to go there and place your order... and wait. Pluses and minuses of both. Phone in order - faster, but 50/50 chance of your call going through. If it does, it's so loud inside, you wonder if they can hear your order and now your shouting on the phone too! If you place a small order than you may not need to pay over the phone. We always order a ton of food so it's upwards of $100. Which require you to pay beforehand. So now you're trying to give them your credit card number and they can barely hear you and shouting it back to you over the phone. The worst if you didn't want the whole world shopping on your credit card. Then comes the waiting. It's always a min of 30 mins before your food is ready. We've waiting over an hour when it's busy. Sucks, but it's worth it. I was so in love with this place at first. On our very first visit I order the lumpia of course, but is not great. I was so sad. But then I discovered their sisig. I don't like anyones sisig and I love theirs! It's crisp and clean tasting and they make it to your spiciness level. They have cut down the portion since Covid, and we always end up ordering two orders so we can get our fill. The chicken adobo is good, but tons of bones. I like the pork adobo better. The garlic fried rice is a favorite staple of mine. It's simple, and so good. We've tried both the Pancit Bihon (rice noodles) and Pancit Canton (egg noodles). I usually like the rice noodles better, but it was just meh. The Canton with egg noodles was better. Bums outside, so while your waiting keep the car doors locked! No issues parking. Staff can be hit or miss. When they just can't hear you, they hang up. Not good. You would think they want regular customers to keep coming back. Good luck and enjoy! 2024: 20"

Roger P. "Normally Spot KTV is for karaoke but seeing as they have a full menu with some classic Taiwanese dishes, I wanted to visit during dinner and just order a bunch of things to try. Even during peak dinner time, we were the only ones in there. And that made me a little nervous, thinking that it would be a bust. Food is ordered through the QR-code on the table and everything came out as it finished cooking.Beef Roll: Came cut into 5 pieces, which was kind of weird. One piece was just so oddly cut and it was bigger than the rest. The meat in the middle is a bit cold but I enjoyed the sauce inside. It's wrapped with a lot of green onions and cilantro. The pancake itself could have been crispier but other than that, it's pretty good. Stir Fried A choy: Super simple veggie dish with a huge portion size. I thought they cooked theirs really well even though it was probably just garlic and simple seasoning like salt and MSG. Very flavorful, would order again! Came out piping hot and was the first thing from our menu to come out. Fried Rice w/ Taiwanese Sausage: Simple fried rice with a strong white pepper taste and kind of salty. The rice to eggs ratio was really good! The sausages, however, tasted more like Chinese instead of Taiwanese. Taiwanese sausages are slightly sweeter and these tasted completely savory. Because of the sausages, the fried rice is pretty oily on the bottom. Taiwanese Fried Chicken: Basically popcorn chicken and these had a little kick. No dipping sauce but I didn't think it needed it. Crispy, juicy chicken!Stir Fried Beef w/ Cumin and Spice: The majority of this dish was onions and green bell peppers. Very heavy cumin flavor, as the name of the dish would suggest. And it's got a heat that slowly builds if you keep eating it. There could've been more beef but for what it's worth, the pieces were super tender and the cumin flavor really penetrated through. I really enjoyed the food and was surprised that I did. I didn't have that high of an expectation because I've associated Spot KTV with drunken nights and karaoke. But now, I will recommend to others to just come and eat instead of singing! I'd love to come back with more people to order way more dishes."

LeeAnn B. "Is this the same 4 star rating as many of my reviews for higher end restaurants? No! But, is Champ's deserving of a great rating in the genre of dive bars? Yes! My boyfriend and I recently purchased a home in Bay Park and as such, we have been exploring the surrounding businesses. During a night out with a couple of friends, we decided it would be fun to stop for a drink at this local watering hole. It's clearly a dive bar and we expected to walk into an old, grungy, stinky place, but Champs really surprised us. While is is absolutely divey, it was clean (restrooms included) and not grungy at all. We originally went in wanting to play a game of pool, but as there was only one pool table and it was occupied, we opted for a game of shuffleboard instead. It was a really good time, though the table was running pretty low on sand to sprinkle over the board. We would have loved to play darts as well, but there was actually a darts club meeting that evening, so all 4 or 5 boards were taken. Along with those three games, there were also a few old school video games littered around.Between the four of us, there were three cocktails, two made with Tito's, and a beer ordered, yet the total was only $18. That's pretty much unheard of in any bigger city bar, so we were pleasantly surprised when we were told what we owed. If it were a party-time kind of evening, we'd have definitely taken advantage of the fair prices more. Keep in mind that it is cash only, but they do have an ATM if needed. For a Saturday night, it was pretty quiet. I would assume that when games are playing it gets a bit more lively since they have a few televisions, but overall I think it's a great place for a casual and chill evening."

They call it " The Hole in the Wall" and I guess there's literally a hole in the wall aka a door, but the venue itself is more like an underground courtyard which makes me curious about what it was before. Right as you enter, you walk down a colorfully lit staircase onto the open air patio. There's usually a karaoke dj to your right and a good amount of people watching zones to choose. I haven't eaten anything here but there's usually an outdoor cook/snack compiler standing near the entrance to the bar.If you're from San Diego, you wouldn't list Point Loma on your itinerary for a queer night out yet The Hole in the Wall exists to surprise you and I love it.I've gone on empty nights and I've gone on packed nights. I called and spoke with Foxer the bartender and informed me that there was NFL Ticket to watch all the games. That was good news because my team Steelers vs Bucaneers wasn't on basic cable. The place is small and not very much parking space. I found a space because it was a morning game. I get there and met Foxer the bartender. She pointed where the Steelers game was playing. The majority of the crowd were 49ers, Jaguars, and Ravens fan. I noticed there is a patio in the back that could hold maybe 30 people out there. There are tvs and you can possibly smoke. This place has a small kitchen that provides breakfast, sandwiches, finger foods like wings and fries. The bar had beer of the month for $3.50 for Miller High Life and Rolling Rock. Not a bad price for bottle beer. I didn't try any food this time, but the food looked good that was coming out of the kitchen. If it is your 1st time here, you order drinks at the bar, and to order food at the kitchen. Credit cards accepted at the bar and I only saw people paying cash at the kitchen. Perhaps, you can ask the bartender to include food on your tab from the kitchen. The bathroom surprisingly had a keg for a urinal to use. That was creative right? The bathroom looked cleaned and didn't smell. I overall give this place 3 stars for having NFL Ticket, a place to drink for cheap, and sell food. I went with a group totaling 8, so it was $35 an hour for the room. Drinks were pretty expensive so we didn't order any (we'd drank at KBBQ prior so that was fine). The remote and screen were all in Korean so it was a bit of a learning curve to figure it out. There's a sheet that translates the main buttons and our attendant was super helpful and sweet. We had a great time! There aren't TOO many songs that are raunchy (i.e. WAP) but we were able to satisfy Disney, American pop, and theater karaoke needs in the two hours spent there. The more people you go with, the more worth the money it is! And it's close to so much good food."
