"I lived in the Bay Area for 8 years and sometimes I crave Indian food. Glad that we have the Naturally Desi Cafe in Rancho Bernardo. Super cute restaurant, very modern and clean. Food is delicious and the type of dishes that I like at an Indian restaurant. The down side is the pricing. I find it too expensive for what it is and now I only go when really craving that kind of food. Definitively not fast-food prices even if the restaurant is on the casual side."
"Pretty close to my job so I decided to stop by one day for lunch. Everything automatically comes out in to-go containers, but there is plenty of seating to stay and eat there. My friend got the Chicken Masala and I ended up getting the Samosa Chaat and the Chicken Biryani with a level 5 (out of 10) spice level. The man at the counter decided to remind me THREE times that it was an Indian restaurant and therefore Indian spice levels. While I understand why he felt the need to doublecheck my spice level, he didn't need to do it three times. The food wasn't even that spicy to me when I ate it, so I'm not sure why he needed to do that. I really liked the samosa especially with the green sauce they provided. That added a nice bit of spice and flavor without being overwhelming. The biryani was okay. I've definitely had better, but I wasn't disappointed by it. My biggest complaint was that they had a bunch of spices in it and I kept biting into them. I had to be really careful when taking bites because one of the spices was hard and scared the crap out of me when I took a bite. There was definitely not enough chicken for all the rice they gave either. Not bad, but nothing amazing."

"Totally YUMMY Tandoori Guys is now one of my favorite go-to eateries! I love that their dishes are on point when it comes to spice level. When we order take-out here we have to bear in mind that some of my staff are allergic to super spicy foods. For some of the other places in the area, "Mild" actually means "Mildly HOT" and that's left one of two people having to leave meetings and projects early and run to the restroom, clenching their butt cheeks along the way! They are spot on with both with their flavors and spice levels here and I love them for that. Their Masala Fries are so darn delicious and are an awesome alternative to asada fries. Tandoori Guy's Samosas are legendary because they're always piping hot, fresh, fragrant, flavorful and are a meal in themselves when paired with a side salad. Their Saag Paneer is perfectly flavored without being too salty and their Paneer Tikka Masala is so aromatic and delicious. The Naans here are light, chewy, savory, and perfect for dipping in the Paneer! Tandoori Guys truly remains the Naan to our Curry!"
"Was hungry for Indian/Nepali/Himalayan food delivery with DoorDash.Went with the simple items chicken tikka, lamb choila (had to scoop out the nasty cilantro) and the mango pickle (achar).Food was delicious and I was starving so it satiated my hunger.Next time will visit the restaurant and eat inside."
"We came for lunch and ordered their lunch special. Food is delicious and fresh. Service is ok, we were seated immediately but the silver wares and napkin came in after the food was served. Ambiance was nice, table cloths and good natural light from big windows."
"I couldn't believe that their lunch specials was 8.99? What? The fine print reads it's only "to go", which is definitely not a problem. The plaza itself has chairs and tables everywhere and it's literally a few steps away from the restaurant so there's no issue just to get your food and eat right there. I'm not sure why they have that as the fine printAnyhow another good thing about it is you can order ahead of time Yup it's that easy. At first glance when I got my food I felt like it wasn't enough, but of course our eyes usually more hungry than our stomachs. It was definitely enough and portion control nowadays is key. I enjoyed my food so far and can't wait to try out the others. Definitely hard to find food under $10 bucks. YUM!"
"Whenever I need to get away and treat myself to lunch in a quiet, calming, meditative place, I come to Sattvik Foods. It's a drive -- goodness. Especially if you are in South Bay. But worth it for a late morning or early afternoon to enjoy a lunch and read a book. I've never met the founder and chef, Kanta. I hope to one day. She draws her inspiration from African and Asian heritage in preparing the dishes, creating a lovely fusion of fresh, flavorful and filling foods. I always, always have leftovers to take for afternoon snacks. You can order online, and catering is available. It definitely seems that Sattvik is getting more and more online orders, but I always like to stay. The restaurant feels like it is in a converted warehouse. It is shotgun side, and the seating is ample and spaced. There is generally no music playing, and very few people speaking. Most come and go quickly. Be sure to check the menu of the day. It rotates. My favorite is the thali, which is a set menu with three curries, an appetizer, dessert, the soup of the day, rice and a bread. Other favorites are the rotis, samosas and the puri dishes -- the entire menu, really. Lots of street food options on the menu. I highly recommend a visit."
"I've had this location bookmarked since pre-COVID times and recently went maybe in 01/2022 for dinner. I loved the ambiance. I love there's a big parking lot with street parking so that is not an issue. I came on a night where it was calm with just one other table. The waiter was very nice. They brought us each a small tasting of their lentil soup. OMG, it was delicious. It was the perfect amount and start to the meal. We also got the vegetable Samosas which were huge and also very tasty. I recommend those for starters. I Got the butter chicken with rice. Very hearty and yummy. My cousin got the Chicken Jalfreezy which has more veggies in that and that was also very tasty. I literally could not decided which was my favorite out of all of the dishes. The portions are huge so we obviously shared and still had leftovers to go.I came back on my actual BDAY with my family. This night was a busier night but service was still great; even with full tables and a line for to-go orders. Some of the items we ordered this night included:-Chicken Tandori with upgraded garlic naan: like a dry chicken over a bed of bell peppers almost like a fajita (4/5) -2 orders of Lamb biryani spice level 5: very flavorful, huge chunks of lamb, you get your money's worth and a huge portion we could've shared. I wish it was spicier so next time I will try a level 7 (5/5)-naan: simple, fresh and delicious (5/5)-cheese naan: sooooo good. OMG I will get this again (7/5)-Vegetable Samoasa-had it before will continue to get this lol (5/5)We got many other items like the dumplings and more curry-I just can't recall all the names. I was happy that my family enjoyed their meals. I was super excited that my boyfriend really liked it also. I've tried to take him to a few Indian restaurants but he was never really into them which meant I did not get to eat out with him at those restaurants often. Although this is Himalayan-it's similar to Indian food and I'm so happy I have a new spot where he can come with me and enjoy the meal as I prefer to eat out with a companion. Definitely recommend this restaurant and will be a regular here. Can't wait to try all of their items. They also have Vegetarian AND Vegan options :)"
"At Royal India you can expect to dine like, well, royalty. The location is in a corner of a shopping center in Del Mar Heights. It's nice, clean, approachable and welcoming. The decor is sort of a modern, trendy take with an obvious Indian influence. Oh and they have an indoor waterfall for good measure.Service was prompt and friendly and our server did an excellent job explaining the menu and offering suggestions when we asked for them.I think I'm going to be full for a week. We had: spicy tandoori wings, paneer naan, coconut pineapple shrimp curry, mango pineapple pineapple salmon curry and because we were already being gluttons, opted for dessert and had gulab jaman (sort of like a rice donut in syrup) and rusmalai (a cheese-based dessert with cream and cardamom, similar to cheesecake). Although all was tasty, we agreed that our favs were the wings, the paneer naan - which I could've honestly just ate for a meal by itself- and the coconut curry shrimp.Royal India also offers up a full menu of wines, beers and cocktails. When in Rome; I ordered a Taj Mahal lager and it paired perfectly with everything. High marks to the staff and chefs for a great evening out. I would 100% go back."
"I'm so happy to see that Hare Krishna is still serving wholesome lunches after all these years. The first was was during my undergrad years in the early 2000s. Came back onto campus for a visit on a random Wednesday and stumbled upon them again! Food was just as delicious, plenty, and nutritious. It was rice with two kinds of curry like dishes filled with veggies such as cauliflower, peas, carrots, potatoes, and the blueberry masa dessert. It also comes with a drink and a small piece of peanut butter bar. All that for only $5 and you serve it yourself. I was in heaven all over again. The Food Coop place it a cool place to hang out, buy snacks and eat it there. Come Wednesdays, bring cash and an empty stomach!"
"The restaurant is inside the Namaste market and has multiple locations in the Bay Area. Parking was easy. Service was good.Ordered California Butter chicken curry combo which comes 3 pieces of roti(Indian bread/tortilla); and nethi mamsam roast biryani. The rice was a little dry to my taste; however, the curry, meat and rice were well spiced and seasoned. Tasted yummy! Will go back and try other dishes."

I enjoyed the vegetarian tali lunch special from here today, which is $15. I got it for takeout, and it had lentils, spinach paneer, papadum, naan, raita, one gulab jamun, and some tomatoes and onions on the side. The rice and naan and paneer were good. Sadly, the raita container wasn't closed well, so it spilled in the bag. And the lentils were pretty spicy so I was bummed I couldn't put raita on top of them! But it was still a tasty meal and a good deal, and I am pleasantly full.

Came here on a Saturday at around 1:30pm and it was pretty empty so we were able to take our time figuring out what we wanted to get. This place is clean and similar to other take out spots where you place your order at the front, and can dine in or just take out. We ordered the samosa chaat, naan, goat curry, and chicken tikka. While we were waiting, the lady who took our order conversed with us and offered us this free drink that was similar to chai. Everything we ordered was really delicious. We did get the goat curry as spicy for my sister, but she said it wasn't as spicy as she would've imagined (which honestly was a good thing, because that meant I could have some too lol. Also she has an extremely high tolerance, so what's somewhat spicy to her is spicy for me). All the dishes were flavorful and even my two year old niece enjoyed the tikka, naan, and rice. The lady who took our order was really sweet and welcoming. Although she did do a littleeee bit of upselling menu items which was somewhat too much. However, the food was delicious, and I appreciated that the lady had carefully wrapped each of our items up in plastic wrap on top of the container to prevent any spills or leaking.

I cannot speak for the service as we got Togo food. I was very happy with the portions and the flavor of our food. We got a little bit of everything, vegetable curry, chicken tika masala, samosas, bread. We will add these guys to our takeout rotation.

My son wanted to try this place out. A small mom and pops restaurant. John was our server. He was very kind, attentive and friendly. I appreciate that. We ordered the following...Mango LassiSmooth Yogurt based Mango Daal SoupMixed lentils cooked with Himalayan spices and herbs.Lamb VindalooBoneless lamb cooked in gravy of tomatoes, onions, vinegar and chili.Chicken Tikka TandooriBoneless chicken breastGarlic Herbal NaanNaan with fenugreek, or oregano and other Himalayan spices.Badami NaanNaan with cashew, almond, raisin, cherry and fennel seed stuffed bread, baked in tandoor oven. The Naan was delicious. I would definitely order more to bring home next time. The mango beverage was creamy and tasty. The daal soup was good and flavorful. The lamb was good. The only critique was my chicken tikka was very dry. They offer a 10% discount on Yelp app but you have to tell them ahead of time.

Place was empty at early dinner around 5pm. So we didn't have to wait! Brightly decorated dining room with Indian decor and furniture felt welcoming. Service was very good and food delicious. Pani puri appetizer was my favorite with sweet and tangy chutney. Garlic Naan can use a bit more garlic but baked well, deliciously chewy not too doughy nor hard. Yum!Prawn Vindaloo was tangy and spicy just the way I like it. Tandoori chicken was served sizzling hot on a stone griddle and marinated and baked just right. Fine Indian Dining with lesser known appetizers and authentic entrees at reasonable prices. Will return and plan to recommend to others.

I ordered the Lunch Takeout special (Monday-Friday 11:00am-2:30pm) which is such a great value for only $8.99. You get 2 entrees, rice, naan, and a drink. In this economy, that is an absolute steal! Even during peak lunch hours, we got our food in 10 minutes after ordering. Although we didn't dine-in, the space is quite nice and I enjoyed the interior aesthetic. The butter chicken and the paneer butter masala were both excellent! Creamy and packed with flavor. They only give about 2-3 pieces of chicken/paneer respectively but for the price and flavor that is totally okay with me. The meal looks small but I was good amount of full afterwards. The naan size is also very generous. I also upgraded my drink to a mango lassi (+$2) and that too was really flavorful. There's a reason why Charminar is always packed and I look forward to going back!

Pickup day. First time I'd come in person.Very delicious, very fresh, very flavorful. Vegetarian: 5 stars! The reason I'm giving it 4: parking is hard here; food wasn't ready when estimated (& I ordered with plenty of time in advance & then was double-parked for a while); and I really wish they wouldn't use plastic containers instead of cardboard or paper. Plus, I was trying to order my pickup on an app (because they didn't answer the phone after several calls) - and it was really hard trying to order the Daily Lunch Box. They told me there finally - they've discontinued it, but it still appears on every delivery/pickup app (but extras become mandatory, so the price jumps up several dollars). So my ordering & pickup experiences both took a lot longer than I expected. But this is a special restaurant, where food is fresh, the vegetarian menu changes daily, and the food is not like every other place in town.
Visit Restaurant Page"TLDR: three stars for experience and value at dinner... But five stars for the hot, fresh and VERY YUMMY food I got!!I would not necessarily recommend coming here for dinner. They are supposed to be open until 9 pm; I came at 7 and it was like they were closing up for the day. The floor was wet as they mopped up, and I almost slipped. I was the only customer there, and I started to get a little nervous. I used to come here before the pandemic when it was a different restaurant. And I found the menu board here confusing. They have south Indian food like idli and dosas, but then also North Indian food like Dal and baingan bharta. I asked the man at the counter what he might recommend as their best vegetarian dishes, and he didn't really direct me in any way. And the place is called "to go"... but my food took about 20 minutes in the evening. And it was about $25 for Dal makhani, naan and a mango lassi. No raita or anything else. HOWEVER... when I got home, the Dal was HELLA delicious. And the naan was buttery and perfect. And the mango lassi was pretty good too. And I still have enough Dal and rice to have more tomorrow. So in the end I am pretty happy with my dinner! I would just recommend coming in the daytime when they have lunch specials, and food will be faster and a better value."
"This is the second time I came here, once for lunch and dinner. It's been on my radar since it's close to my neighborhood and once my neighbor told me this is his favorite place close to authentic Indian food, I was sold.Ample parking in the lots and this is a hole in the wall. Simple decor, tables are tightly packed inside, the food is good packed with spices and flavor. Get a side of plain yogurt to help receive the spiciness.Lunch is overrated because they give you mostly rice for $9.00 and small portions of the side dishes. The dish specials are already premade. Premade Food is good thou better when they make their special dishes. The special dishes have outstanding flavor. Ordering take out is hit or miss. Most of the times the food is spectacular and another time I have been disappointed. I'm still ordering food here, just not from the premade stuff they have simmering on the burners. It's important for a restaurant to have consistency in their food and I haven't found that here yet.Lunch is busy so be patient waiting to order and staff is friendly and focused.Enjoy!"
"We were at Downtown Gaslamp and we found this place called "URBAN INDIA", it was perfect for our craving that day. It was actually our second time trying Indian food. We chose to sit down at their outdoor sitting, I wanted to see how Crazy downtown was at night in this area. Our server came and I had so many questions about their food. We made sure our food has spice, but not too much 'coz my son just started to eat Indian food lately. We ordered food that was recommended by our server and got: *MIXED GRILL*BUTTER CHICKEN *BIRYANI VEGETABLES *NAAN We loved everything that we had, our server listened well to the specific spice level that I wanted 'coz my son can't tolerate too much spicy food, if it was just me I would request a very spicy one.The BUTTER CHICKEN was so delicious, it had a mild spice, it went well with both the rice and the naan. Our BIRYANI vegetables also has a good kick of spice, but it was also so good. Omg the meats on our MIXED GRILL were tender and had so so so much Flavor on each meat We enjoyed what we tried here and we will be back for more to try what they have, next time we will try their Chicken Tika Masala :) Parking was the only issue we encountered , so hard to find one around ."
"My boyfriend and decided to try this place out after passing on a walk back from the beach about two months ago, and now it is one of our favorite spots in Pacific Beach. From 4pm -6pm patrons can enjoy $5 cocktails, wine, beer, AND appetizers. The happy hour appetizers are an absolute must, especially the Curry Fries and Aloo Tikki! You get the same portion for half the price! In addition to Happy Hour, Spice Lounge offers daily specials, our favorites being Meatless Mondays ($11 vegetarian/vegan dishes) and Tuesday Treats (buy one entree get one half off). With quality food at an amazing price and excellent service, you can't go wrong with Spice Lounge."
"This is the second and newer location of the Taste of the Himalayas in La Jolla. I love the original restaurant on Midway Dr, but their parking situation is terrible as the strip mall lot is cramped without many spaces. The parking is much more plentiful here at the Renaissance Towne Center but beware of more vehicles during the lunch and dinner hours. The restaurant was in a corner suite that can seat about 30 customers at the tables and another six at the bar surrounding the service counter. They also had a few tables outside on a small patio. The menu was the same as the rest of the TOTH franchise. I ordered a mildly spicy Chicken Saag with white basmati rice along with a basket of plain naan. The food took a while to come out of the kitchen, and they even forgot to provide the complimentary cup of dahl (lentil) soup until I asked a server. The portion size seemed smaller than the OG location, but the spinach flavor of the saag was equally as good. I rated my dining experience with 3.5 stars as there is something about the Midway spot that I feel makes it stand out more."
"I've had some bites here before, but this was my first time having a full meal. We just decided to do a girls' night and I was first to arrive. It was pretty empty and I didn't even know who else was supposed to be here, so I just waited outside LOL. I noticed that they have a painting of Drake on the wall, which doesn't seem to match the waterfall entrance/decor. After everyone arrived, we were seated and browsed through the menu. We decided to just order a bunch of items and share everything. I had to have my mango lassi, which was thick and very refreshing. For food, we got the chicken tikka masala, 2 garlic naan, mango chutney, papadum, shrimp vindaloo, roti, lamb goat curry, butter chicken, and chicken hariyali.Everything came out pretty quickly in these small bowls, but they were surprisingly filling! The papadum was very interesting- they were crunchy lentil crackers that came with two dipping sauces. The roti was okay, but I thought that the food overall was enjoyable and very flavorful."
"Food: 3.5/5Service and Setting: 2.5/5Value: 2.5/5From what I remember, Royal India has been a staple in UTC's food court since forever, gracing its main entrance. They are always offering samples of rice and one of their chicken curries, so you can definitely grab a taste before you commit. The service here was eh, I came when they just opened and when I asked for prices or how many samosas came with the listed price, the lady helping me gave me major stink eye. Even for mall rent prices, I felt that having a two item plate for $12.99 without bread was astronomical. Even though it looks like they pack in the food, in reality, the styrofoam containers they use are thinner than other restaurants. If you are craving Indian/South Asian food while shopping, this is a good option. Samosas be going brrr though, read about it below! Korma Chicken: 3.5/5I feel like Korma Chicken is a dish that has fallen out of favor with the American Indian food community. I see a lot of vegetable korma but not so much chicken. The Korma Chicken at Royal India is very sweet, much sweeter than I expected. They may do this to sort of differentiate it from their other chicken curries. It has a respectable amount of savoriness in a ubiquitous style tomato-based curry gravy. The chicken in the dish was not dry at all and the ratio of curry to protein was good. For me, it was a little basic and too sweet, but I'm sure that there is no one who will outright dislike this dish.Aloo Mutter: 3.5/5I liked the Aloo Mutter slightly more than the Korma Chicken, but not enough to give it a higher score. They do not skimp out of on the potatoes and peas. Since I went during their opening time, the potatoes I received were cooked perfectly and even had a slight bite to them. The sauce is a bit plainer than the korma chicken and tastes simply like tomato. Unlike the korma chicken, there is a more savory flavor rather than sweet. The spices used are very mild and because of that there is a lack of depth overall.Meat Samosa: 4.5/5It is really rare to see meat samosas being offered at Indian restaurants and when they are, they are usually chicken. I believe this one was beef, making it very rare. Let's start off with the bad. I found the samosa to be very expensive at $2.99 for one with a less than ample amount of filling. The pastry was very oily as well. The flavor though is very interesting and reminds me more of an African style sambusa. The flavors are very different from anything I've ever had and are both memorable and delicious. Give one a try even if you chose not to have your full meal here."
"Picked up two nirvana burgers and an order of the tacos with the paneer for protein. We upgraded one of the burgers to masala fries and it was a great decision. They have an easy tablet ordering system with a clear menu which makes the process very easy. The place is very casual, with a few tables inside. The food was delicious; the paneer tacos were flavorful and soft, while the chickpea burger base had a great crunch. Tip: recommend skipping the spicy sauce as a dipping sauce bc it's not needed and doesnt really add to the meal."
"Vijay was our wonderful server today as we tried to Nepali cuisine for the first time. The restaurant was very artfully decorated, the ambience was quiet and great for tasty family dinners in a casually elegant setting, and there was plenty of spaces to seat depending on our preference. Online menu provides a thorough description of the different foods, and the menu in the restaurant provides delicious looking pictures. Vijay was awesome in terms of providing informative and helpful detail about the ingredients in the food so that my parents can make a thoughtful and decision about the right dishes for our lunch. We ordered the chicken jhol Momo, the chicken thali, chicken curry, and chicken tandoori.Highly recommend all the dishes, my favorite was the chicken Momo because of the Himalayan soup. We found out that the Himalayan soup was tomato and soy bean from Vijay. What did we like about this restaurant? The service was fantastic. Five stars out of five stars for the service. Vijay was very patient and you could tell that he really cared about providing and informative decision. Also he went above and beyond to make sure my mom felt comfortable placing her leftovers in heat-safe containers and found her a foil container rather than the plastic- and also was patient in all our back and forth indecisiveness. Thanks Vijay, we loved the meal here. Also, nepalese cuisine is now probably one of my favorites handsdown. I am already craving their dishes and I just ate lunch here, For those who haven't tried Nepali foods, it's truly a mix of Indian and Asian, with more influence from the Indian side but distinctly different from Indian cuisine. Even for the dishes that seem to be normal in Indian cuisine like tandoori or curry, the dish is prepared in a way that tastes unique from all the other ones I've ever ordered from past Indian restaurants and I love it!! Sad to say Los Angeles does not have a Dancing Yak yet but, happily SD and SF both do.Thanks also to the Dancing Yak chefs! We asked for low sodium because of doctor's orders, and they delivered superbly. Delicious!"
"We recently tried the nethilli fry, Ceylon mutton paratha and mutton thaali... all great choices."
"I come here during the weekdays for their lunch special. Great price and big portion. They have fountain drink refillable by customer. They also have samosas- huge- comes with 2 pieces and two sauces- I think a mint and tamarind chutney. Friendly customer service. Attentive. Parking lot is small tho. There's a gender neutral bathroom inside. Lunch specials is weekdays only- no weekends or holidays. $13 for salad, rice, naan, & 2 curries. Drink not included."
"I really don't know why this place has such a bad rating. I ate here for the first time yesterday and I actually liked the food.Food: we got the chicken dum biryani, chilli paneer and chicken lollipop, and all of it tasted really good.Service: we went in half hour before close an yet the servive was good. The food arrived fast and the servers were sweet and attentive.In-all: I will surely go here again to try more stuff."
"Ordered takeout while visiting California for a LEGOLAND trip with family. Our family only eats halal and this was close to our hotel. Ordered the tandoori platter, mild spice, everything was delicious. Naan was great as well. Service was quick and excellent. Will be back next time :)"
"Very delicious and impressive Indian food! We came here at a weekday for buffet. They have a decent selections, including vegetarian and non-vegi. My favorite are the Spanish paneer, tikka masala paneer and chicken tikka masala. Their naan is so delicious as well, as a price of $15.99, it's very worthy."
"Himalayan Cuisine is a restaurant highly recommended by acquaintances and I had dined here multiple times including food delivery.Almost every dish I ordered tasted off, NOT fresh and was either too sweet, too salty or had zero taste ie Bland and Flavorless. Their Saag paneer was not authentic tasting, a disappointment and a disaster. I've had amazing Himalayan food from Tara's in Los Angeles, and the food I've had here is not comparable this at all :(Good presentation was always careless and sloppy plated. Service by the staff was slow, unprofessional and lacking. Why this restaurant received so many high rating reviews is a mystery because I stronger disagree. The interior dining room had lovely chandelier lighting and the walls decorated with a menagerie of Himalayan baskets, assortment of ethnic art. Most people who haven't had much exposure to true Himalayan cuisine sadly don't know any better. This restaurant has the opportunity to improve many dishes, food preparation, presentation and staff service. Have given this restaurant the benefit of doubt but they repeated failed in every area.My generous 2 star is for some of the staff who were nice to Me and my service baby."
"After returning from a trip to London, we were absolutely craving Indian food. In particular though, looking for black daal (or dal makhani). There are very few restaurants in San Diego that serve it but Tandoori Hut is one of them. While the food wasn't quite comparable to the food in London, though we weren't expecting it to be, it still satisfied the craving that we were having. Would typically give 4 stars, but an extra for having the dal makhani. We ordered the butter chicken, dal makhani, alo gobi, plain naan and raita. Butter Chicken- We decided to go medium on this dish and the spice difference was noticeable. Tolerable but definitely not for someone looking for a typical medium. Chicken was cooked tender. Alo Gobi- This is made dry, so it does not have a curry consistency. It was very tasty and I enjoyed it as a vegetarian option!Dal Makhani- Unlike the black daal we'd enjoyed at Dishoom, it had a much more textured consistency. There was a mix of black lentils with what looked like a few kidney or pinto type beans. Great flavor though. Raita- Much needed to keep things cooled down! Pair with some naan. The online ordering platform was easy to use and we'll definitely order again."
"Tandoori Vibes has been under new ownership and management for over 3 months, however, it was my first visit for lunch and my review as follows...Like many eateries on this side of San Diego, this small restaurant is located in a large strip mall, off of El Cajon and College, minutes from the SDSU campus.Haven eaten an many Indian restaurants throughout the years, my selections are theever popular favs: white meat chicken tikka masala, Saag paneer, basmati rice and naan. These were offered as Lunch specials and the portions were generous. The chicken was tender and fresh tasting, the tikka masala curry was topped with coconut flakes and slivered almonds a nice touch to a rich aromatic dish. Saag paneer tasted perfect just as I like it, in color, texture and authentic Indian spices taste, just how I remember it tasting and from my travels in London.Too bad I can't fit much into my belly, I'm excited to try other selections from their menu, next time Korma, Chana, and the Tandoori! The restaurant appeared clean, has limited indoor and outdoor dining. Service was good. You enter the restaurant, order and pay at the counter and the cashier is also the server presents the food to your table. Would have preferred to sit, and had the waiter take my order from the table.I sat at the only outdoor table which faces the busy parking lot and busy walkway, no eater privacy. This restaurant does offer takeout and delivery via other services. The food remarkably delicious and the dishes I ordered deserves 5 stars and worth trying."
"The food here is flavorful and well worth the price. It is located right next to Sprouts so it's a convenient location. Walking in, I was a bit skeptical because the restaurant was empty. However we already walked in so we decided to go through with it. As we were looking over the menu we noticed that this restaurant does a lot of take out orders. So maybe that's why there weren't a lot of people dining in. We ordered a mango lassi, garlic naan, chicken vindaloo, and beef biryani. The mango lassi was on the sweeter side but still delicious. As for the savory food - everything was perfect. Chicken and beef were tender and aromatic. The portions are also quite large so you might have enough for another meal! We will be back for sure!"
"Biriyani is one of my favorite dishes to get at Indian restaurants and I couldn't believe the amount of options I had here! It was a bit overwhelming at first. I asked the woman working for some help to narrow it down, but she just told me everything was good. It wasn't very helpful in picking something to try. I ended up started with the Samosas. They had a great amount of filling to them and I loved the green sauce it came with. They paired very nicely together. The spices perfectly added to the flavor of the potatoes and peas. For my entree, I went with the Amaravathi Shrimp Biriyani. At first I was a bit annoyed by how expensive it was. But once I got my dish, it made sense. They give you a ton of food and they don't skimp out on the shrimp at all! It is definitely worth the price for me. I couldn't get over how delicious this was. I wanted to keep eating even after I was full. I liked the green sauce mixed with this as well. While I doubt I'll ever be able to try all the biriyani options they have, I cannot wait to come back and try at least a few more. Definitely going to bring my friends here too so I can try their entrees as well!"
"It's been a while since we decided to have Indian food, and we were delighted to discover this place while in the area. Usually, my sister and I go to the Hillcrest location, but it has become too busy and crowded.Upon entering, I noticed there weren't many people seated, except for another couple, which was perfect as my sister and I had some catching up to do. The server promptly seated us, handed us menus, and provided glasses of water. After a few minutes of deciding, I observed that some prices had increased since our last visit, which is understandable considering the overall rise in expenses. I chose the chicken vindaloo, while my sister opted for the aloo banta. For sides, we selected plain naan. Our food arrived within 10-15 minutes, and we were thoroughly pleased with the flavors. Both curries were rich and incredibly tasty. My sister went for a spice level of 7, while I chose a spice level of 6. Despite usually preferring spicier options, I always regret going beyond a 7...Our server was excellent, ensuring we had everything we needed. He refilled our water glasses about five times, given that we drank a lot of water, and also because my sister accidentally had her food go down the wrong way.In conclusion, I highly recommend this place for anyone craving Nepali/Indian cuisine."
"The restaurant has nice ambiance with wall decorations, statues in display cases, and pictures of Nepal. The restaurant is bigger than what it appears on the outside. No wait to sit down on a Friday at 7pm. Nice!Service was quick and adequate. No complaints. We ordered chicken tikka masala with rice, chicken momo, butter naan, and lamb biryani with mild spicy level. Flavor was good. Chicken momo was juicy. Chicken tikka masala was creamy and on the sweet side. The lamb biryani rice was moist with big pieces of lamb. Next time I will ask for more spicy. Overall we enjoyed our dinner."
"Been meaning to write a review for the longest time. After having frequented World Curry much this year, this place also holds a memory near and dear to my friend, Ian, currently crowned the Phall King of World Curry. When I mean crowned king, I mean they plastered his face to the wall of the restaurant, for having completing the Phall challenge...WEEKLY for the past few years. He just loves his Phall. Now the food...the Phall is the most spiciest curry on that menu, much alone to what I've had on the planet. It is delicious, mouth-watering, and extremely spicy. I'd prob recommend this if you like spicy....it's just a huge explosion of flavors, and to be honest, the spice kicks in pretty late. Now the other curry contenders make good options as well. One of my favorites is the Katsu Japanese Ka-re. I get it extremely spicy so it has a nice kick. The green basil Thai curry, Panang, Bali Beef, and the Korma Cashew are also really great, I'd definitely recommend them if you're feeling a bit indecisive.Although I wouldn't recommend getting the Vindaloo, it doesn't scream like a true Vindaloo, as it's a bit too sweet on the palate to be. The appetizers, such as the Phall poppers and the buttery garlicky naan are also killer items. My absolute faaaav drink to get is the Mango smoothie! I definitely recommend at least 2 if you're trying to complete the Phall challenge. There's also the Mango Lassi, but it has bananas I believe, which is the difference from the Mango smoothie. Get the smoothie if you don't like bananas. The spice scaling is a bit off, so if you reaaally want a kick, get really hot. Mild, medium, or hot is like adding a few dashes of hot sauce in my opinion. Also, the service is amaaaazing here. The waitresses are all so very nice and they are also very accommodating with any requests. Shoutout to Sophie and Sophia for bringing their brightest smiles to the table :)"
"This place is still such a great staple!Everything is large and filling and there hasn't been something we have disliked on the menu. The drinks are always very tasty and their food always flavorful. They could use another server or two since this place is always packed but that's the least of our concerns when the food and drink are great!Apparently there is a back room you can rent out where you sit on the floor so keep that in mind for private events!"
