"What a treasure in an easily accessible office park quite close to hotel row. We found just the lunch sandwiches & salads we were looking for at a great price. Delighted we could come back for breakfast. The quality of food is top notch and service very friendly."
"I love this new gem that popped up on 3rd Ave! It's a small coffee shop with limited seating outside. It's a perfect spot to get work done or take a work break at if you work nearby.Working on 3rd Ave and coming to my chiro appts on 3rd Ave on my days off, it's hard not to pass up a yummy toast, sandwich, or matcha! The service is awesome, friendly, and answers any and all questions you have.I've tried their strawberry matcha, dirty chai latte, and horchata latte and would have to say my favorite is their strawberry matcha. Their drinks are STRONG, so be prepared if you order any of their coffee beverages. So excited to go back to try more of their toasts and sandwiches soon."

Great daily specials including hot dishes, salads and grilled sandwich and burger options. this place does not get that crowded like Sorrento food court with the Qualcomm crowd which is a plus. I usually go the food truck route for convenience but this place is close to the office and actually cheaper than the food truck options in a lot of cases. I've been here twice last week since i was i was told about the place and I can see myself being a regular here. I haven't had the chance to try their Stumptown coffee but I'm sure I will. Check em out and let me know what you think."
"One of my fave local sandwich shops. It's not over the top, but it's always consistent! It's also a great location to swing by before having a picnic in Balboa. I really like their Cobb salad. They are GENEROUS with the toppings and the house made vinaigrette is so unique and delicious. My go to bread is their onion bread. It's tasted good with everything I've tried. Today I enjoyed the Sword Swallower. It's somewhere between 4-4.5 stars for me. Gotta go with five stars because their name makes me giggle every time."
"Let me tell you a story:Yesterday, I hosted a potluck at my company. Various employees signed up to bring enough items to feed 45 people. Well, not all of them were able to. Various reasons interfered with their schedules and we just didn't have enough food to serve everyone. Last minute. What do I do? I phone Gourmet Island Bistro almost in a panic and tell them my dihlemma. They suggested their garden salad and pasta salads to compliment the food I already had on hand. Me? I was trying to make sure everyone had enough food and salad was right on the money. I placed my order site unseen. (You can do that when you are calling an establishment that has aways come through for you). I had never had their large pasta and side salads before. Oh My God! Lets just say that I filled up on that delectable pasta salad. Now I've had pasta salads before and to be honest, I'm not a fan. But this salad was waaay over the top delicious. The olives were the star of the show. Plump and flavorful cuts of olives with the rest of the seasonings and pasta cooked to the perfect consistency. When I say perfect consistency, I'm talking firm but soft not firm, hard and undercooked. The garden salad was another salad that was over the top. Various types of plump cherry tomatoes or red, yellow and purple with fresh slices of cucumber and onions and romaine lettuce. I didn't eat any because I was hooked on the pasta salad. But it sure was pretty and my team loved it. As good as the salads were, it was the fact that they did not pull the whole 24 hour notice for a large specialty salad thing I hear so often from retaurants that cater. The fact that they knew I had a need and were there to help. I didn't ask for salad, they heard my problem and fixed it with salad. Now that's service. Thanks Guys."
"" New Owner, With New Visions & Quality "The Hilltop Deli has recently gotten a new owner, Nancy. Nancy has come into the Hilltop Deli with the new visions of getting the Deli back to the Quality that it used to have. They have a beautiful new large Menu wall board for customers to look at, and they have added some new dishes and sandwiches. Lola and Lucy the sandwich makers are very nice and ask a lot of questions to make sure you are happy with your order. The Hilltop Deli also now has different Restaurant times and days they are open. They are open Monday Thru Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. The Deli also does Catering, and uses Instagram, Facebook, Grubhub, Uber Eats, and their web site at Hilltopdeli.com, to help customers order their menu items. I liked what I saw today, and the Reuben Sandwich I had was Delicious !"
"I've been returning to Extraordinary Fruits since 2015, and over its evolution, I have been impressed with the expansion and quality of the menu.Recently, I had a new menu item, the beef quesa tacos, and they were delicious. The beef was tender and juicy, and most importantly very tasty. The order comes in sets of three. I've also had in the past: the shrimp tacos which were great and they do not hold back on the shrimp, the French Toast, the breakfast wrap, the chicken Caesar wrap, and chilaquiles. They were all very tasty and filling. Also, they offer a variety of agua frescas and smoothies.I always look forward to what new item they plan to add to the menu."
"Really solid sandwiches. Decently sized and affordable. I really enjoyed the San Diego native (the alfalfa sprouts really make this sandwich amazing!) and the buffalo chicken. The triple decker was good and had no complaints! My nephews enjoyed their meal after a day of swimming in the pool. (But let's be honest, sandwiches ALWAYS hit different after swimming.)Sandwiches were made quickly. It's a small little shop but the guy at the register was super friendly/cool and answered all of my questions. I'll be back."
"Nearly a year ago I was fortunate enough to stumble upon this Gem of the City. One expects the sandwiches to be consistent and the soups as well, after all, you simply follow the recipe. But for the service to ALSO be consistent is rather unique in San Diego. If you eat out a lot you know what I'm talking about. Poor Service 60% of the time. But not here, here they always greet you with a smile and are so helpful. My only sandwich place. Easy on the wallet, great parking, offering super quality Roast Beef. I only order the R.B., can not speak to other proteins."
"This place makes some very good pizza. I had a couple of slice: a sausage slice and a pepperoni and mushroom slice. They both slices came on the the same crust and the same tomato sauce. Each large slice cost $3.The crust's flavor was mild, but had very good texture. It offered a light crispiness on the outside and with good soft center. It was a thin to medium crust. The sauce was well balance between acidity and sweetness, not much of either, just a good tomato flavor. The sausage on the one slice was very good. They offer a good variety of whole pies and pizza by the slice. At the moment, they do not offer a combo slice deal, but it is in the works. There are a few tables available inside the Pizzeria. Service was super friendly."
"LOVE Blue Luna Cafe & Deli!! My go to is the panela veggie sandwich- it is perfection, with all the right ingredients! Portion size is pretty massive, so I usually share, so wish I could eat the whole thing LOL. Service is fast and always consistent. Support small businesses and definitely give them a try!"
"This is our favorite pizza place for work place lunch! We love to get the giant pizza with meat lovers 1/3, vegetarian 1/3, and margaritas 1/3. We pay cash ands they give us a free 2 liter of soda as a plus. This all costs less than $40They also have beer of you like. Very good service 15 min parking right in front for a quick pick up."

Nestled on 5th Ave. in the heart of San Diego's Hillcrest neighborhood, the Deli Llama is a local gem that welcomes you with its flavors and service. The atmosphere exudes warmth and charm, creating the perfect backdrop for a delightful sandwich stop. The quick and efficient service at Deli Llama adds to the overall appeal, ensuring that your meal is served promptly, and nice and hot (depending on your order), without compromising on quality. The menu boasts a tantalizing array of sandwiches and wraps, each offering a customizable journey for your taste buds.We tried the "Fire Eater," a masterfully crafted creation featuring melted pepper jack on succulent turkey, adorned with a medley of fresh fixings. The pièce de résistance was the chipotle aioli, adding a perfect kick to the ensemble, all wrapped in a seared spinach wrap that exploded with wonderful flavors and textures. One cannot overlook the impressive wall of drinks, a testament to the Deli Llama's commitment to catering to diverse palates. From refreshing water to classic sodas and locally crafted IPAs, there's a beverage option for everyone. Our visit to the Deli Llama was nothing short of a delight, leaving us eager to return and explore more of their menu. Whether you're a local seeking a reliable go-to spot or a visitor looking for a taste of San Diego's vibrant food scene, Deli Llama is a must-visit destination.

I love this place! It's like a lil mom and pop shop and the family is so nice. I love their sandwiches and breakfast sandwiches. My favorite thing to order is the Vegetarian sandwich on Sourdough add bacon. lol yes bacon with my vegetarian. Clearly I'm not a vegetarian but I do like all the veggies including sprouts with cream cheese and avocado and of course my bacon. Stop and try it and let me know if you liked it!

I can't believe I had never before heard of Extraordinary Fruits -- it's a true hidden gem! The menu is large and varied, offering tasty options for vegetarians, vegans, and meat-eaters alike. During my recent visit to this establishment, I ordered the Cauliflower Ceviche and the Veggie Torta, which were both absolutely tasty! The ceviche was accompanied by Valentina hot sauce (one of my favorites!) and tostadas. It was perfectly seasoned and topped with fresh avocado slices...delicious! The Veggie Torta was savory and flavorful with perfectly toasted bread and a tasty chipotle spread. I also ordered the Vitamin ABC juice, which was a perfect combination of sweet and tangy. My sister ordered the Vegan Bowl and Shrimp Ceviche, both which she enjoyed very much. I'll definitely be back soon. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water!

Parking is easy and there are tons of dining tables and chairs available to sit and enjoy your meal. If you're in a hurry, call ahead because they do tend to get busy especially during the weekends. If you don't want a donut and want something different than Panera, this is a good place to choose. I'll be back soon. If you see me, don't be afraid to say hi!"
"GET THE SANDWICHES HERE IF ITS THE LAST THING YOU DO! So delicious and fresh made. So much flavor and all on fresh focaccia bread. Pricing is so fair, around $10 for a massive sandwich. I always get the Baja turkey and add mustard. If they have the elote corn dip in the refrigerator section I highly recommend purchasing but beware it is spicy. Sometimes the wait for the sandwiches can be a while but totally worth it. Good tip is to walk to the park at the end of the street to eat your sandwich"
"Great Cafe on the 4th floor. I'm so glad we smelled it in the elevator. Dominic is a gem, talk about good customer service! They treat you like family and the food is delicious! They have a great selection of sandwiches, the bread is fresh with generous toppings. They also have healthy options. We'll be back for sure!"
"This is one of my most favorite delis in San Diego, I try to find a reason to eat here anytime I am in the area. They do hot and cold sandwiches right. They have seating inside or out on their patio. Parking is tight, so carpool if you're coming with others."
"I started a new job in the area and asked my coworker where's a good place to eat. He replied by recommending this lovely tiny deli. They have sandwiches that are already made for you . They have a great selection of sandwiches. They also have delicious salads ready to eat . The prices are excellent and the food tastes great . The woman who works here is so friendly and says thank you . She is a delight to see."
"I was working at WeWork San Diego and wanted to find a local deli that was affordable. Fred's popped up on search and I decided to give it a try. The lunch combo was around $12 for a hot sandwich, chips, and a drink.Fred was there himself and obviously has built a reputation with the locals, which I really loved to see. The deli almost feels like a bodega, it's so simple but you can tell everyone loves it and so did I. He was really friendly despite being very busy and flooded with customer. I appreciated that.My hot tuna sandwich was delicious and honestly a great meal after a long day of morning meetings. I would definitely go back and try more things on the menu in the future.Support this local business!"
"Oh my gosh! I was going to come here on a lunch break last month but did errands instead. Finally came tonight. My boyfriend asked me what I was craving-acai bowl.To my surprise this was the cutest little place. Very clean and an abundance of options to pick from.We both got 2 items each.I got the Crepes (came with strawberries, bananas, nutella) and another delightful surprise-a scoop of vanilla ice cream. OMG this was sooo good it really hit the spot! The crepe was a thicker consistency and filled with the toppings on the inside as well as the outside. The ice cream took this to another level. I loved this so much!Next, I got my acai bowl (toppings of: granola, banana, green apple, and coconut). I was already full by this point but had a few bites before storing it in my freezer for tomorrow. It was also good! The Acai was a bit sweeter that I'd like but it was still good. I love all the fruit! My man ordered:Tuna Torta-I loved this also! The tuna was moist and tasty. I definitely wanted more of this. He enjoyed it and gave it a 7/10. The toasted bread was really good.Mango smoothie-soooo refreshing. It was more on the yellow color so like a ripe mango for sure. It said mixed with strawberries but i couldn't taste the strawberry flavor (just saw them on the toppings). Not sure but this was soo good to me.This whole meal was very appetizing for me and I will definitely be a returning customer to try more items!I can't wait!"
"Dropped by here since it was a hot summer day and had a very nice experience. A pretty good sized menu featuring acai bowls, fruit salads, ice cream/milkshakes, smoothies, crepes, tortas/sandwiches, aguas frescas, tostilocos and a very expansive paletas assortment. Was initially going for an escamocha, but ended up getting a chamango.Employees were friendly, and ordering/getting the food was super quick. Nice seating indoors (plus a TV) but a very tight parking lot. The chamango was very delicious, tasty, and refreshing featuring ripe mangos, tamarind candy and a blended frozen mixture of mango and chamoy. Hope to make a return trip to try their other menu items soon. Thanks!"
"So good! Didn't take a pic because I ate my taco immediately but very good! The strawberry banana smoothie was also great! I will come back to get Carne asada fries."
"Stopped by after comic con and this place was so tasty! They have a lot of great veggie options and the strawberry banana smoothie was superb. I loved the veggie burrito I customized and others enjoyed their mushroom quesadilla. Everything tasted so fresh. Everyone was really nice, even when I called back the next day to get their smoothie ingredients. Looking forward to stopping by again!"
"VEGAN REVIEW wowza! Being from the Bay, we are totally spoiled by having The Butcher's Son-- we are usually disappointed in other vegan delis, but this place is legit!#1. MATZO BALL SOUP. OMG. SO GOOD! #2. Matzo ball soup! It's so good, it deserves to take both top spots #3. Tuna melt. The bread!!!!! And yes the tuna salad itself was awesome. Hubby also loved his Reuben. Definitely affordable- I recommend the meal combo. AND YOU CAN GET MATZO BALL SOUP AS YOUR SIIIIIIIIIDE!!!!We sat outside. Unfortunately this is right next to a crisis pregnancy center- ugh- so I just had to turn my back to it Parking was easy.Service was good. Note that you should wait inside for your stuff. They don't call your name when your food is ready. Will return whenever I'm in SD"
"This place is busy as ever until closing! Make sure to call in your order so that it can be ready sooner! We had family at the hospital down the street and ordered some pizza via phone, waited in line (3 peeps in front of us) and by the time we got to the front, our pizzas were coming out and being cut! Yes, they are on ubereats.com &slice if you want delivery as this place does not have its own drivers. This location specifically is a window service only and all kitchen! They do leave out a few seats for waiting. One of the best pizza places, and definitely try their heart pizza on special occasions!! The family even enjoyed their pizza, and we've never had a bad experience here! There is a sign on the register for offering a 5% discount using cash, but I'm pretty sure I didn't get a discount and paid cash when I saw it instead of using a card. They had a deal 2 topping medium pizza and breadsticks for $25.99 since my total was over $28+, so be mindful."
"I love this place. It says it is a liquor store but it is a small grocery store. You can find everything here. I always brag to my friends how there is a three story liquor store by my house! I love this place and will be a loyal customer as long as I live in the area. They have fire sandwiches too!"
"Long wait but staff was efficient and did their best! It was lunch rush on Friday so that's on us. Was about a 35 min wait but the food was fabulous and prepared well! Good quality ingredients and lots of choices in the style of an old school NY deli!"
"Don't be intimidated with the location of the shop. This is my go to whenever visiting the area. Their sandwiches are absolutely delicious!! My favorite is the El Diablo but you really can't go wrong with anything you choose. Lines can get long but service is fast and friendly. Highly recommend"
"I have always Loved Antonelli's and have been going for years. The Pastarueben is my favorite."
"the market itself is great. pretty wide selection on most things. but it's no longer a deli. when i lived in bankers hill back in 2021 their deli had a wide variety of hot and cold sandwiches as well as many other things. just moved back into town after 2 years and the deli lights are always off. all i've ever seen is basic pre packaged ham and cheese type sandwiches in the fridges. decided to try one anyway but it was covered in mold spores. still gonna frequent the market for anything but food. wouldn't recommend eating here since the deli closed."
"No frills eatery near the court house. Greek salad was great, however the gyro meat was a bit over cooked and dry. Counter service could have been better and a bit more friendly."
"This was an interesting space for a cafe and deli setup because it's nestled on a busy part of Laurel St with two off-site airport parking structures located across from each other. There is not much nearby curbside parking, maybe on Kettner Blvd if you are fortunate. I stopped at Sicilian-ish Cafe and Deli right before it was about to close on a mid-afternoon. The owner was kind enough to accommodate me even though the dining room had already been cleaned, and the workers were about to log off the clock.A menu card was next to the service counter listing the available sandwiches, salads, and paninis. I picked a Spicy Italian from the eight varieties of subs, all of which were made using a 10" Italian roll. Soppressata salami, spicy capocollo, pepperoni, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayonnaise, mustard, and Italian dressing were the ingredients. They were tightly packed inside the roll. I could taste the spiciness in the capocollo while the bread quality was very good.As I was departing with my to-go order, the owner handed me a wrapped chocolate chip cookie. It was likely part of the last batch at the end of the day. I appreciated the generosity and the effort he made to be customer-friendly. The rating for my dining experience at Sicilian-ish Cafe and Deli was at a four-star level."
"Lou's Deli... that seems to be a fairly popular business name as I know of other locations around the country, none of which are related. The one here in SD is a sandwich shop window next door to the recently opened Happy Medium. They share the same kitchen and ownership on a busy corner of 30th St in North Park. The current operating hours are limited to weekdays between 11 am and 3 pm.Ten regular sandwiches and two specials were at the core of the menu. Three salads and three sides were the other food offerings. The drinks featured beer, wine, cocktails, slushees, and some non-alcoholic beverages. I pulled up within their last half hour of business and ordered one of the two specials, a Pork Belly Sando. Crispy pork belly slices were served with pickled red onion and chimichurri on ciabatti bread. The sandwich was cut in half and wrapped in wax paper. A bag of Lou's Pickle Popcorn was provided as a complimentary snack. It wasn't the thickest sandwich by any means, but the fatty pork belly was so decadent. The red onion helped cut through the richness of the meat. I took my order to go, however you can sit on the covered sidewalk patio of Happy Medium to enjoy your food as they are not busy during the time in which Lou's Deli is in business."
"This is a real Deli. Evan is doing the lords work. He is making honest sandwiches for hard working Sandiagians. He's got a BLT on the menu! Not a "California BLT" but a true B.L.T.Evan has devoted his life to single-handedly improve the California sandwich landscape. California is a bounty in so many ways... but the sandwich game in this state is an embarrassment and Evan is here to correct things. I suggest stopping in for the Pastrami Bombie. Pastrami, slaw, Swiss, pickles and thousand island on a fine sub roll. It is transcendent. Don't sleep on this one... get your arse in your car and aim for Point Loma."
"delicious acai bowl - now available in small size for $4.99! even that size is very sharable with another person. i will admit this is my only experience with an acai bowl (i know, gasp, i am not huge of the "fad" foods and just got what the mood struck me), but I have a feeling its a good one. loads of granola, berries, coconut and fruit packed on top of the frozen acai sorbet. so yum.this place has a million options for ordering food, as well as cafeteria-style items up front. and then the standard liquor stuff items. its a great all-in-one place along the newport drag. stop by on a warm day for the acia bowl! you will be happy."
