"Good coffee and friendly staff! This location has quite a bit of seating, which is great too. I got the sea salt caramel latte. Honestly it didn't taste like caramel but the espresso was good. Bonus points for free almond and soy milk!"
"We were walking down Orange Ave in Coronado and I needed caffeine. I had heard Trident is veteran owned and we will always support small businesses especially veteran owned. We stopped by Trident and it was packed! Now, the service was SO friendly and welcoming and while it was busy they were getting everyone's orders out quickly. They have a lot of options and it was hard to choose. With new spots I generally use a caramel latte as my baseline. The prices are on par and my caramel latte was full of flavor and great! I would definitely stop back in when in Coronado!"

Unlike other places where they deceptively use "best by" date, Heave Ho includes the date that the beans were roasted instead which is a much better indicator to gauge freshness. Coffee beans are roasted on site, can't get any more fresh than that! Especially if you order a drink and enjoy in their nice seating area. Great customer service and extremely knowledgeable. Gave me some pointers on how to improve my espresso pulls at home and even pulled a shot for me so I could use it as a reference point."
"Storymakers has recently opened up this new location in North Park. I had a cortado and a butter croissant. The cortado was very good. A little fruitier than I would of liked, but it was still smooth and rich with coffee flavors. The butter croissant was okay. They are not made in house but from a local retail store and bakery. They do intend to upgrade the baked goods in the near future. The coffee shop offers a few tables outside and a good amount of seating inside. They offer their own whole beans roasted coffee. They offer coffee from global destinations including Africa, Mexico, and Central & South America."
"Their coffee is fire ! Doesnt get better than this !Their white sheep, black sheep just delicious nutritious! I'm extremely picky with my coffee and once I visited this place I travel half hour just to come by and get my morning doseLove this place !!! And their service is great"
"In an adorable beach town with several coffee shops, Ironsmith stands out. Best coffee experience while in Encinitas. Ordered a latte, black coffee and a big as your head almond croissant. Visited on a busy Monday morning, and staff were so pleasant and efficient. Local small shop with lots of different coffees, teas and pastry options. Perfectly roasted coffee and nicely balanced flavor. Latte was perfection and black coffee was just right. Almond croissant hit the spot and my toddlers were beyond happy. As I was leaving with my coffees and pastry, a staff member offered to get the door. A friendly smile and helpful attitude made my morning. Will return and enjoy when in Encinitas!"
"3.5 stars, rounded up. I'm not quite sure why, but the coffee is much better here than at the mall location. I ordered two drinks, a latte and a shot of espresso. I drank the latte first and knew instantly that it was going to be stronger than what I had at the mall location. It's great- the coffee flavor really shines.I drank the espresso next, and it was a nice pull. I'm all about that crema! I appreciate that it's served with sparkling water... it cuts the acidity of the coffee. I've had better roasts (albeit in LA), but this one is decent. As with the mall location, they are super friendly here. Even though I work and live closer to that location, I love the ambience and quality here more. I look forward to returning.Pros:- ambience- high ceilings- they roast here!- friendly- lots of parking- near Prager BrosCons:- a bit hard to find- one paper cup even though both were for dining-in"
"This was a random find in the suburban neighborhoods of Saber Springs. Heading to work, I desperately needed coffee and wasn't about to back track to mediocre Coffee Bean or Starbucks. This little coffee shops is adorable and hidden away behind a liquor store and not too far from the freeway. Parking lot is friendly and the ladies working there were kind for an early morning start.Started with the pandan latte cuz I LURV all things pandan. At first i was a little afraid it was going to be too sweet but first sip and my eyes widened with a nod.. mmmm! This was yummy! Just the right amount of sweetness, the delicious nutty flavor I love about pandan.. and two shots to kick start the day. I also saw they had their own roasted coffee so I had to try that. It was YUM! Hot house coffee with just the right amount of acidity. Definitely will be coming back for more coffee and to try their other offerings. They have food too and cute little knick knacks. Small venue but some space to sit. Mostly a grab and go. Service was fantastic. Can't wait to come back and try their other menu options! Delightfully surprised. highly recommended and i will be back!"
"MORNING STOP(4.25 stars)- FOOD/DRINK: yum- PRICE: fair- SERVICE: good- AMBIANCE: bright and open but limited seatingTrying something new every time in North County. Perfect place for a quick breakfast stop. If I had to come to the office this would be my morning stop. Small 4 people line max, service is fairly quick, but seating is limited even though they have indoor/outdoor. I lingered and hovered near a table to make it awkward to let them know "when your table is stacked with empty dishes for some time, it's time to get up and let someone else have the seat". Starring at them helps too! LOL.:: ORDER :: HONEY CINNAMON LATTE ($5.75) - I am team decaf! Their decaf beans ARE Swiss Water Processed. Bean profile: dark chocolate, cherry jam, almonds. The taste was smooth yet did have a little faint tartness at the end. Still a very good bean. It was nice to sip on a latte out of a ceramic cup and enjoy cafe dwelling. HIGHLY RECOMMENDBISCUIT WITH MINT BERRY JAM ($5) - they had selections of some breakfast items I didn't know they had. And a selection of jams to choose. Went for a simple biscuit because I was hoping to save room for lunch. The size of the biscuit was huge! They were fluffy and warm and it paired well with the mint berry jam (mint was barely noticeable). I noticed that it's the same biscuits they use for their breakfast sandwiches. While most appreciate size, I would have preferred a couple mini biscuits over one huge biscuit. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Overall, great coffee beans and food and atmosphere. Blah to limited seating but that's a good issue to have knowing it's a place of gather. JABA APPROVED. Until the next review..."
"What is one place that you can have breakfast and some of the best coffee from the many countries of the world? For the many coffees place and the baristas that I have met with the many some can make the best in coffee drinks and there are those that just want to push products to get to the customer to see if they like the drink. What is the one thing that makes a great coffee place is it he food or is it the customer service? Coffee and Talk is one place that I had come across last month and to see what the location was about when you see a large dining area at the front which many coffee places are full, and the many tables would have people meeting for lunch and outside business meetings. When I had arrived at the coffee and talk, I saw the sign at the front door it was saying they were closing asking the people at the counter they said they were open with two hours before they closed. I looked about the coffee shop with the many displays with the coffee they have to sell there was a small number of sweets they told me they have deliveries in the morning. I told them that I wanted to order a caramel mocha 16oz size that is the large size they sell it was a few minutes the charge for the mocha was $5.40 good price for the location right here on Broadway in Downtown San Diego. I asked them if they were the new location on Broadway Downtown San Diego, they told me they were there for a few months the order was brought to the counter the great taste of the coffee was the best I Had ever tasted with the great taste of caramel in the mocha the best. From the many coffees they prepare with the best flavors its one place to have found the best coffee on Broadway next to the Burgers Bagels located across from the YMCA with the best location. The coffee and the location when you want to have the best in mochas and the best flavor from the many countries is the Coffee and Talk to find the best in drinks is the best in coffees. As a Yelp Elite Reviewer this is one place that had got my attention to find a coffee place that was at the end of B4roadway with the Starbucks that is located right across the street to have a place close by. Coffee and Talk is one place with the large dining area and the outdoor meeting area is one of the best coffee places for the early morning and the lunch areas."
"THIS PLACE IS DOG FRIENDLY!Had to plug that at the top for my fellow pet parents. They gave my pup, Charlie, a pup cup too! It was great to have an indoor spot with AC to bring my dog. It's not a huge place to please be mindful of your pet and it's leash - we don't want any trip hazards or dog incidents to ruin this great pet friendly option! This is a cute coffee shop nestled in City Heights and is a perfect place to get some homework done. It's right off El Cajon Blvd so you'll need to find side street parking. You may have seen their Coffee Flight trending on Instagram - which is exactly why I chose to come here. Their seasonal coffee flight offers 4 different drinks that are sure to give your taste buds a good buzz. The Summer menu is geared more on the sweet side, but they were all so refreshing. I can't wait to see what they offer in the Fall!I also ordered a croissant sandwich to soak up all of that espresso I downed and it was the perfect sized portion to fill me up but not make me bloated. Their breakfast options come with either a bagel or croissant, which is a great touch. I saw multiple people come in to get a fresh pastry out of the case. Not seeing many left, I'm presuming that they are delicious. Swing by this cute little coffee shop and be greeted by kind staff and delicious food & drink!"
"I really like Trident Coffee. I was first introduced to them in Imperial Beach, and they were great then and are even better now, in my opinion. I had a cortado and a protein coffee cake doughnut. The cortado was well made. It was smooth and had great flavor. The protein coffee cake doughnut, too, was very good. I liked the crumble on top and the texture of the doughnut. It was keto friendly and gluten-free. This location offers a good amount of seating, but not outside. They have free Wi-Fi and sell plenty of roasted coffee to go, including instant cold brew coffee. The service was super friendly."

This is the location to frequent solo or with a group/kids. The others are always slow, frustrating, packed, out of listed menu items, and lacking on service. Great long space for sitting and can move tables together easily for groups. Other Bird Rock places have little to no room and/or are always packed. We love the all the treats they source here -- better than other spots. Helps to be in Little Italy. They consistently have their hot breakfast menu items, too. They take time to mix/make your coffee orders -- other places say they don't or tell you to do it yourself. Our go to with our young family!

You had me at gluten-free donuts and functional coffee beverages. One of IB's best comes to PB. Excellent new addition to the neighborhood, a block from the beach and right on the corner of the same block the Vans store is on.Enough seating for a morning coffee or lunch break. May get crowded during prime time on a summer weekend. Clean, welcoming, and overall just awesome.

Hello Storymakers! You have a new fan who can't seem to get enough of you. The hubby and I went on Sunday and asked what the barista's favorite drink was. He said it was the Smoked Out which was awesome. Think of a burnt vanilla flavor that has a hint of smoke to it. It's super smooth and so unique that it's my new go-to. The hubby ordered an iced vanilla latte with almond milk and loved it as well. They are serving cold drinks vs iced, which I appreciate because the coffee isn't diluted with ice and can't be enjoyed without getting a cold headache. Make your way to Barrio Logan and check this place out.

Still on our mission to try every local coffee shop. We were on our way to one in Carlsbad when we realized that they were closed on Saturday's (whaaaat!?)Thanks to Yelp, we found Leap Coffee. Open and waiting for us. I ordered an iced sweet cinnamon soy latte and the hubs ordered a vanilla almond milk latte. All of their to go cup, lids, and straws are certified compostable. Honestly, that won me over. I love that and wish more coffee shops would adopt that. The coffee is really good and the flavorings (all made in store) are not too sweet or overpowering. They have a few veg options which is a huge plus for me. I really enjoy this coffee shop and can't wait to go back.

Visit Restaurant Page"SURPRISE BAG OF PASTRIES(5 stars)- PASTRIES: yum- SERVICE: quick- PRICE: fair- AMBIANCE: cute and simple shoe box size coffee shopFlor & Seed participates in the TooGoodToGo program. It's my first time picking up a Surprise Bag at this shop for $4.99. When I arrived there were two surprised bags packed and they told me choose one (inside had different things). As I opened up my surprise bag to to see what I got...:: SURPRISE BAG ::Bag of pastries BERRY EMPANADA - Yummy. It was small in size compared to savory empanadas. It had sugar crystals coated on top of the empanada and when you take a bite into it there is this berry filling - not the runny kind but a more thicker consistency. HIGHLY RECOMMEND CARROT CAKE MUFFIN - whoa this was surprisingly very good! I didn't expect a carrot cake muffin to be anything special but this one was well baked. The size of the muffin was generous, nice and moist, not too carrot-y, and had the right texture with some small chopped up walnuts, and perfect notes of sweetness. HIGHLY RECOMMENDMEXICAN WEDDING COOKIES (mini) - I love me some mini cookies. White, powdered, crunchy, rich, buttery, pecan flavor. There's all kinds of names for these kind of cookies but since this was from Old Town I'll refer them to "Mexican Wedding Cookies" (aka "insert-country-here" tea cookies". HIGHLY RECOMMENDVANILLA CONCHA - you can never go wrong with a concha. I love conchas! Their conchas are average tasting. Didn't order a hot beverage due to having a late pickup and wanting to be able to sleep at night. Will have to come in the AM and try. If the pastries were that good alone, no doubt their espresso has to be equally good. JABA APPROVED. Until the next review..."
"Love this little gem in downtown RsF. Coffee, espressos, Capps. Small thru large with fresh muffins and the yummiest pastries. Croissants, chocolate ones, cream cheese, cream cheese with blueberries, or apple or strawberry. Or try them filled with ham and cheese. They have a couple different savory filled ones. Table at the front, order and go. No seating or going inside due to covid. But still fantastic.."
"Fantastic coffee shop! I was in the area to have my car looked at and set up shop to get some work done while I waited.I had the most delicious almond croissant with my latte. They don't have a full kitchen here but the pastries are legit.Friendly staff and busy while not being overcrowded. There's a good amount of seating available but I could only find one power outlet. I spent more time here than expected, and also had an iced tea that was also good. Will definitely return if next time that I'm in the area."
"GOOD COFFEE, GOOD STUFF!(5 stars)Quality beans makes each sip great.- DRINKS: yums- PRICE: fair- SERVICE: excellent- AMBIANCE: small but cleanCame here on a very busy day (CCSD) where the line was out the door. Had my inpatient dog with me and it was a wait in the heat but they have a big dog bowl with cold water right out the entrance. 4 women were running the place and they ran the place well, quick, and efficient. Very impressed with their customer service and fast service. They handled that line like no other! :: ORDER ::ICED VANILLA (DECAF) LATTE - lol yup team decaf. not my first go-around with this coffee shop BUT my first time at this location. Their roasted beans are very smooth and can taste it in their drinks. Especially their hot beverages, cold ones tend to be quickly sipped and forgotten. HIGHLY RECOMMENDDOG TREAT - they had a big jar at the barista counter full of dog treats for free. I love a place that looks out for their fur customers as well. :: SERVICE ::If there is a line, worth the wait. They messed up on my order and caught it before giving it to me - they didn't do decaf and quickly remade it. Again, impressed by the service of the 3 women at the front and one in the back handling the kitchen. What makes a place is good customer service and I appreciate they acknowledge all customers regardless how busy and get the order out right in timely fashion. They even engage in a little conversation with their customers even with all the noise around them. Will def be back!Until the next review..."
"Came back from getting my smog check (passed). My friend recommended this spot and this is how I figured to celebrate.AMBIANCE:Parking: Street parking, it gets pretty busy.Seating: Inside seating and seating. Room for about 40 people. Good for groups or individual study.Vibes: Welcome to Logan Heights, it's a grit and grind area with plenty of culture. The spot itself is eclectic. They got a nice brewery area too! You have a nice study and social area for small private events. I dig the local art and the hip-hop/R&B music. FOOD:Buko Pandan Special (Recommend)For those not familiar with pandan, it's similar to vanilla. A lovely sweet milky mix of coconut and vanilla that complements the coffee pretty well.CUSTOMER SERVICE:Nikki was my barista and she was great! Friendly and knowledge about the company.TL; DR OVERALL:4.5 Stars. I'm a fan! The prices are reasonable; there's a wide range of delicious selections and a pleasant ambiance. Logan Heights is lucky to have a social spot like this. Great place to study, get work done, for small groups or large. TIPS:* Great range from morning drinks, alcoholic beverages, and pastries."
"This is a cool little small business coffee shop. It's located inside the "Gallery" of El Cajon on Main Street. They are dairy free, so I had a cortado with oat milk. The cortado was fantastic, given that they use quality oat milk. The roast they use was robust and flavorful. I liked the nuttiness that it offered towards the end. Great non milk cortado. I look forward to trying some of their other offerings. Baked goods will be coming soon.Service is very friendly and welcoming. The place is very nice with artwork all around. There's inside and outside seating."
"It is fair to say that I know coffee pretty well after working in the coffee industry for over eight years. That being said, I've proudly become a regular at Jaunt Coffee Roasters. The coffee and drinks - I've tasted their seasonal offerings, Ube lattes, cortados, black coffees, etc. and I loved every single drink that I've gotten made by the incredibly personable, talented, and kind baristas. Every single drink hits, and each of the drinks were special for different reasons. My favorite drink teeters between the ube latte and the black salted caramel latte. Their drinks are perfectly balanced, being just sweet enough to both highlight the flavor of the syrups and coffee (I usually need to ask for half sweet at most places, but I never need to adjust it here). The drinks come out quickly, accurately, and deliciously. The pasties - FIRE. I have also eaten my way through many of their pastries. They offer an endless number of vegan options, and every single one of the vegan pastries tasted wonderfully. My favorite pastry is the honey pepperoni pocket (not vegan). I have yet to try their empanadas or burritos but stay tuned for an updated review when I do. The ambiance - This is a top tier spot to get work done, catch up with friends, or just sit down to enjoy some coffee. The space is open, green, and comfortable. I love doing work here or studying because the ambiance is just perfect. I always can find a spot to sit at regardless of the time of day. This place is the perfect balance between an aesthetic/cute spot and a functional spot to get things done. Parking is never an issue for me. The staff - Every single staff member has been a delight to speak and interact with. Special shoutout to Diego for always making me feel comfortable and appreciated as a customer here. Again, every single staff member here is just warm and kind. This place is excellent! Solid 5/5. A++++++"
"Great coffee, really nice people, and awesome location! Hands down a great coffee shop to check out if you're in OB!"
"I'm always a fan of Bird Rock and I love that this location was conveniently located in the same building as the Spaces. Perfect to grab a caffeinated drink during a busy day working. Service was friendly and quick. I ordered my usual matcha latte and appreciate that they always ask if you want it sweetened or not. I took my drink to go but I loved the big open space they have here!"
"Bird Rock was recommended to me by another coffee connoisseur. This is located inside liberty station so plenty of parking and super easy to find. Customer service was quick and efficient, the place was clean with a few spots to sit inside and the coffee is amazing! I went with a left coast latte which is a salted caramel latte and it was perfect! So smooth, not too sweet and great flavor. I ended up going 3x while in town and it was consistent each time. Cannot wait to stop in again when I'm back in SD!"
"Good coffee and treats. Small seating area out front and inside. We enjoyed the Ube croissant most."
"Trident deserves another 5 stars from me, they have improved since my last visit! They have a variety of cold brew selections, cold brew specialty drinks, espresso drinks, and even functional drinks. I got the mexican mocha with oat milk and it was delicious! The chocolate flavor was so delectable and worked well with the cold brew. They have upped their pastry selection! I got a lemon poppy protein donut (which they told us has 22-26g of protein!) and a keto bacon and egg empanada. The empanada had flavorful seasoning. Usually keto pastries aren't my favorite since there's no carbs but theirs was pretty good! The unique pastry selection and delicious cold brew sets them apart from other places. The interior is a bit small but nicely decorated and with lots of tables and seats. The place overlooks the otay river/bay area so has some nice nature views!"
"One of the BEST iced Caramel Macchiatos I have ever had. Their Turkey Bagel sandwich is pretty incredible too. The service was on point. Quick, accurate and with a smile. The decor and vibes are hella cute and chill. They have these vintage Barbie sketches in the bathroom that are so dang Beautiful, I wanted them for myself. Overall 10/10, very much recommend."
"Great espresso bar with multiple beans to choose from that are all roasted in-house. Great customer service. Tamales and pastries. Plenty of outlets. Mostly bar seating, a few tables."
"Still awesome and - hopefully- this is the permanent spot for Parabola. Nestled inside 619 Spirits (also an awesome place) - you can get all your traditional coffee favs as well as some Parabola's custom concoctions. The interior and exterior are just get places to hang and chill. I can see the outside being popular once it warms up!"
"While visiting a friend in San Diego, she recommended Dark Horse as a great place to go for coffee. I visited a few times during my trip and enjoyed all of the coffee drinks that I ordered. I found the staff to be welcoming, and the ordering process was quick and straightforward. Whether it was an American or an iced latte, I thought the coffee was high quality and flavorful. They also serve ice cream (when I was there in May, they had a themed month of vegan offerings), and I liked their swag so much that I got a great mug as a souvenir."
"This where the cool cats of North Park come to hang out. It's a very cool down to earth coffee shop. I had an iced matcha latte with whole milk and touch of honey. You can also go with vanilla syrup or no sweetener at all. The young lady who made the matcha latter was very nice and had a positive energy about her. She did a very good job with the matcha latte. I liked it because it offered that very good matcha flavor up front and smooth easy finish via the honey and milk. Nicely done. The place offers inside and outside seating, and dubs as a motorcycle aficionado spot. It's a very cool place. You can't miss the Ducati as you walk in."
"Ive been here a few times. Super nice people work here. The service is excellent. Kenia was super sweet. The salmon toast was excellent."
"Good coffee and a good breakfast burrito. I got the burrito with turkey (not turkey bacon, but like lunch meat turkey) and it really worked. Makes me wonder if we could start using other deli meats for breakfast burritos. I think roast beef would work. The salsa that comes with it is just ok."
"So grateful to have a local coffee shop with a drive-thru!Everything we've tried here is good... the peanut butter cup, matcha green tea latte, Snickerdoodle, iced coffee- yum! The service is great too. Everyone is friendly and super helpful."
"Tucked away in between the Californian apartments is this hidden gem of deliciously made coffee, fresh croissant bread and food options, and a banging sauce that I actually do crave with their burritos. There's a few seats inside, with more patio seating available. It is street parking, so it will be easier if you're able to walk in. Order at the bar, online or for pickup."
"A fantastic coffee shop focused solely on Columbian coffee beans. I came in both to buy beans and get a cup of coffee, and in selecting beans the barista was really helpful in asking questions about what kind of coffee I liked and how I liked to brew, etc. My black coffee and the beans have all been fantastic. The indoor space is small, but there is plenty of patio seating. Great spot!"
"Great cold brew coffee. Full selection of whole beans from Chiapas Mexico to Tanzania Africa. Owner is very knowledgeable and has been in the industry over thirty years. Highly recommend you try Safari Coffee Roasters!"
