"June 21, 2024 down in the Encinitas area hanging out with my high school friends celebrating their birthdays. So many great places to eat in the area went to best peace and brew in Cardiff by the sea Even though the pizza smelled delicious display pizza look delicious. We decided to go with a couple of cheeseburgers, french fries and their delicious iced tea has to be the best cheeseburger I've ever had from a restaurant in a long time. The customer service was excellent food was excellent. They opened at 11 AM by the time we gotthere at 11:1115 they were pretty busy goes to tell you that this is a great restaurant to eat and I highlyrecommend. parking. Can be a little tight, but if you could find parking on the street, I do highly suggest."
"This is a nice on-campus cafe located right next to the UCSD vaccine superstation. Because the demand is subsiding, the station will be disassembled at the end of this month. This also means that Ridgewalk Social will be temporarily closed until September when the students return for the fall semester. Most of their business from the past few months was coming from people who were lining up to be vaccinated.Salads, chicken wings, burgers, and wraps were the main food categories. I bought a Chicken Deluxe to-go which was a crispy spiced brined chicken breast with applewood bacon, pickles, tomato, lettuce, and a special sauce. I chose a house salad as a side instead of hand cut french fries. The sandwich was large and nicely assembled so the $11 price tag was well justified. No dressing was offered with the salad which I don't know was an oversight or not. It could have used a small cup of vinaigrette. One issue that stood out was the 30-minute preparation time for the sandwich. I came in the late afternoon so it was well after the peak hours of business. There were four orders placed ahead of me, and it appeared that those customers were waiting quite a while for their food too."

I had not been in a while so this is a delayed review (catching up with my Yelp Elite duties:) but just here to comment that Harlang Brewing delivers. It has a variety of delicious beers and various seating opportunities, from couches to bar table. Love the vibe, the service is impeccable, super friendly and the location is also so pretty and walkable to many stores, is a must visit."
"Sweet little joint in an area that I spend very little time in, but maybe I should!I love a bar that offers live music and Fast Times is exactly that. The sound is good, the drinks are affordable, and the place is clean. What more can you ask for? Ah, I know what else you can ask for, a nice and spacious outdoor patio to get away from the hustle/bustle inside and to catch a few breaths of fresh air.Welp, it's a bar, a good one at that and one that I'll surely be back to someday soon."
"This is such a lovely little spot in an unlikely neighborhood. There are not many businesses open in the evenings on these few blocks, but if you tuck your head in from the dark street outside, you will find a lively atmosphere with activity and friendly, happy people.I started going to Next Door a few months back because my dance friends put on a belly dance show the second Friday of each month. From the beginning, the owner and staff were so friendly. I really like how they give you several tastes of wine to help you find one that you enjoy. They have a nice menu of red, whites, and roses from around the world. It is small and tastefully decorated. Apparently it is a beer bar as well, but I don't know a lot about beer so I cannot comment. What I really like, is that they make you feel welcome when you arrive. Also, they support the arts. They have dance shows, music shows, and trivia... and probably more that I don't know about.I do wish there were more food options. I understand that it is more of a wine bar that a restaurant, but the last couple times, once the dance show was over, it was already too late to order food. I wanted to eat after watching the show, but I guess it's best to order early.Do be careful walking to your car at night, as it is a dark neighborhood without a lot of other business open. I'm hoping to return soon for more arts events. If I lived closer, I would definitely go more frequently!"
"Always enjoy trying out the breweries in San Diego! The latest one was Duck Foot Brewing. With this brewery experience Steve and I had the Kook Slams, an IPA which was pretty good. It was a solid installment to our brewery adventuring. Flavor highlights to expect with this beer is hoppiness, sweetness with a definite dankness presence. The body of this beer is fairly creamy but still is a fairly light IPA which I can appreciate. Had a good time with my first beer experience with this brewery."
"Two of my students and I had a workshop to attend in San Marcos. So looking for a place to eat, I found BB. One of my students just likes fries, so this place had some good choices. It's a cool space with indoor and outdoor seating.I ordered the bbq bacon burger which was very good! I should've asked for it med well. It was a little too rare for medium. We also ordered plain fries and truffle parmesean fries. I thought the portion of the fries was small in relation to price, but that seems to be the norm right now. This was the first time my students had craft sodas. She: I just wanted a Dr.PepperHe: I almost said SpriteBut they have a delicious Black Cherry soda! The staff was really friendly and there was good AC! Definitely worth checking out!"
"Street side Thai kitchen is a fabulous Thai restaurant located in the heart of North Park. You definitely don't want to sleep on this place, they have delicious food, super friendly service, and I appreciate that they are open late.We stumbled upon this restaurant after a late night music venue attendance. On a Saturday night past 11pm options were limited on this block. We weren't feeling a bar type restaurant and we were happy when yelp pointed us in this direction showing they were open until midnight. The restaurant itself is very cute and welcoming. Traditional Thai system decor and the atmosphere was causal. Very comfortable as the tables and booths were spread out. We were also really impressed with how large the menu was here as you could easily find something for anyone. The staff here are very friendly and hospitable. They welcomed us and sat us quickly (it was late so the restaurant was empty). The waitress was quick to provide us with menus and get our drinks going. The gentlemen that took our order was also super friendly and helped me with suggestions when I was looking for their most popular pork belly dish.Between the four of us we ordered crispy garlic wings, crispy pork pad see ew, a pork belly dish with rice & a fried egg, and pad Thai. The food here is phenomenal. Truly delicious Thai food with great range in flavors. The dishes were plentiful, great portions. Also despite it being late into the night, they put a lot of love into their dishes. The pork belly dish I had was phenomenal (sorry can't find the name of it). It was a crispy & fatty bits of pork belly in a tasty sauce, with some veggies and fried Thai basil leaves, with some white rice and an over medium fried egg. Heavenly. All of the food was great. I would say staff, food, and ambiance were all a 5/5. I'd highly recommend this spot if your looking for good yet causal Thai food in SD. Definitely adding this spot on the SD rotation list!"
"I read an article and this bbq ranked No.19 in the whole US, though I never heard of it before. I tried it yesterday with my husband and friends. We had a big rack of big ribs, with side sampler, Mexican corn, onion rings, fries and kid size pulled pork sandwich, plus corn bread and peach cobbler for dessert. The price here is very reasonable and the quantity is very good. The foods are very delicious, and especially the beef ribs, probably the best in SD I've ever had so far. All the sides are very very good, I love potato salad, coleslaw, fries, beans, corn.... The corn bread is also highly recommended. The only thing I don't really into is the peach cobbler, too doughy for me. Anyways, it's a nice place to have a great bbq!"
"This is the third time we went to Haven. I have eaten all three vegan pizzas on their menu, I think there may be four but I can't remember. My husband had their vegan meatballs with pasta which is also quite good I stole some bites. This is probably the BEST vegan pizza I've had in San Diego so far and I've had a lot of them. They don't overdo the cheese and give you options for some tasty cheeseless pizza too, you won't miss the cheese I assure you. Nice happy hour with those delicious bread knots I've included here which we ended up taking home to go with the dinner I cooked last night. Nice atmosphere although it was a little chilly in there (this review wa.)s written in January 2024) so next time I will bring a sweater. Mission Brewing was closed but I believe they allow you to bring food from restaurants in there, KBC did. We don't usually come to Kennsington but since it's so close to our YMCA we will make it over once in a while to get some delicious pizza and pasta! Lot's of meat stuff too and more traditional carnivore options, I only am writing about the vegan and vegetarian menu because we don't eat meat. Try their house Chianti with a bowl of their pasta and their knots. Nice pairing and quite delicious!"
"Returning from a busy work day in San Diego, Fusion was just what the doctor ordered! Walked by the establishment a couple of times before entering because I wanted to scope-out the local scene, and Fusion is the best option in the area by far! A live house bar, relaxing atmosphere, great ownership, cool clientele, and delicious, trendy food. When I finally made my choice to enter, I was met by "Jamie" and we immediately felt welcomed and at home. She offered two seats at the bar and continued to explain the vibe of the bar, as I fell in love with the band playing just 4 or 5 feet from us. "Soul Seekers" a Classic Rock from the 60's and 70s group led by Pastor Bruce De Soto playing all of your favorites to perfection made the evening totally memorable! And the lead female singer was amazing to say the least! We sat, ordered a couple of pints from the establishment's large selection of draft craft beers, and a light appetizer of "Crispy Bogogi Fries" having dined only a couple of hours prior. The fries were delicious and the Voodoo Ranger Juicy Hazy IPA and Rincon Hazy IPA beers were crisp and cold. While sipping our beverages, we enjoyed the familiar tunes played by the band and watched as others swayed and danced to the grooves. Service was "top-shelf" and extraordinarily customer service oriented. After a couple of hours we reluctantly departed for home, and planned for our next visit. Thank you Jamie and Pastor Bruce for a memorable evening! If you are looking for a cool, laid-back, but lively place to enjoy great entertainment, delicious food, and a friendly crowd...then Fusion is the spot!Highly recommended."
"Good old-school bar with fabulous burgers. I saw the sign claiming to be the best burger in San Diego so I stopped by to try. It seems there is always a line for people buying take-out! Sat at the bar and had a drink and a burger! Frankly Burger is pretty good. There is only about 4 different kinds and menu is non existent! Still nice juicy burger comes your way....The only down side Balboa is a bar so expect it to be significantly louder than your ordinary burger joint..."

Delicious pizza, unpretentious place with good beer selection. Be sure to come in pint night for a good deal on the beer of the day. Came here with the kids, and everyone loved their food. Overall a very positive experience. It really is the best!

Swung by for lunch after class on a Monday and there were only a couple people in line at the register including us. It is a bit out of the way as Ridgewalk Social is all they way out by RIMAC, but after trying it, I will 100% be back as this has to be the best place to eat on campus by far. The prices are super fair and the quality of the food is ridiculous. There is indoor and plenty of outdoor seating as well and the wait for food was about only about 10 minutes. The Social (4.5/5): Super high quality burger with the addition of crunchy, fatty bacon and a sunny side up egg is perfection. The runny yolk adds a beautiful creaminess to every bite. The Chicken Deluxe (4/5): The fried chicken has clearly been flattened to get an even cook and it definitely paid off in moist, crunchy bites. If they sold bottles of the sauce, I would definitely drink it straight up. Veggies are super fresh and help curb the guilt of more bacon. The fries and side salad (4.25/5): The quality of the sides are through the roof. The side salad absolutely blew my expectations considering it was complementary and you can never go wrong with well-seasoned, golden fries.

Tired of Zooming from home in isolation, a fellow director and I decided to get together at Harland Brewing and join our most recent online board meeting while literally sitting next to each other... So much more fun getting through an evening work session with a DPM (dragonfruit, passion, and mango) or Blackberry Cobbler Sour (blackberry, graham cracker, Tahitian vanilla, and cinnamon), a Japanese Lager (puffed Jasmine rice and toasted rice flakes), and of course actual human company!Harland's less occupied back patio with heat lamps offered a quiet space for us to take our meeting without disturbing others, and we were able to order delivery from a nearby restaurant - much appreciated for a 6-8 pm meeting. I may do all my evening Zooms from here from now on! :))

I went to see a band here and was excited to see that they have mozzarella cheese sticks. Their ranch was good as well. Drinks were very reasonably priced. They have lots of seating and a large patio. Service was good.

Very chill brewery with really friendly service. It's a smaller space but they do have both indoor and outdoor seating. We got the sour on love (sour cherry berliner weisse), st. Alfanzos pancake breakfast (imperial stout with coffee and maple syrup) and the purple reign (imperial tart with plum apricot and blackberries). All the drinks weren't too sweet or too sour. I could have probably used a bit more fruit flavor but overall very enjoyable.

Cute place. Clean and welcoming. Service was friendly and checked on us several times throughout. Decent selection of beers and things to order. Food came out in a timely manner and was delicious! Definitely a place to go back to. Seems kid and dog friendly (outside).

Delicious Thai cuisine at a reasonable price, served by a very friendly staff. Casual atmosphere and comfortable seating. Pad See Ew and Khao Soi were both excellent!
Visit Restaurant Page"Bruno's Mexican Seafood is a small mom-and-pop joint on University Ave in North Park. It's on a quieter stretch several blocks west of the main action in the neighborhood. I think a local couple operates the business. There was one table outside the front entrance and three more inside the suite along with four stools at a countertop. In other words, the seating capacity was very limited. The menu at the time of my visit listed eight tacos, four quesadillas, two ceviches, and two aguachiles. A couple of breakfast items and birria fries rounded out the main food selections. From what I can see on the current website menu, the choices of tacos and quesadillas have expanded along with the addition of tamales and a tostada.I came on a Taco Tuesday which featured a $3 special for a fish taco. It was a battered version prepared Sonoran-style. I opted for a grilled fish taco instead which cost about twice as much. Sticking with the seafood theme, my other two picks were an octopus taco and a shrimp taco. Each taco was served on a corn tortilla. Some combination of cabbage, cilantro, onion, pico de gallo, and/or avocado slices topped the tacos. I liked the grilled fish the best because it had the least toppings so I could enjoy the protein more. The size of the tacos was good for the price. They were certainly larger than street size. For the overall food quality and value, I gave a 4.5 star rating for my dining experience at Bruno's Mexican Seafood."
"Wednesday night Bingo at Duck foot Brewing in Leucadia is a so much fun. They have a nice selection of crafter beer & you can order food from Haggos tacos which has great food and delivers quickly."
"I haven't been to Board & Brew in awhile, so out of hunger I came here. I wasn't sure what to get so I had the cashier pick out my lunch. I was about the third person in line and the line got even longer once I was done ordering. I was lucky enough to get a seat by the window. The sun was out and it was nice. The food came out faster than I expected. So that was nice. The bread was perfect and the chicken was marinated with just the right amount of sauce and flavor. I was definitely surprised by how much I end up liking my sandwich and the whole quick experience. The inside is your typical causal or fast food type. There were more two seater tables than four. I think they only had two. The place is clean and that's always an added plus. The beers were enticing but I had too many errands to run to enjoy a beer. But definitely next time. Definitely a great spot to grab a sandwich and a drink. I really do like that there's counter top seating, so if you're ever here by yourself, you won't need to feel bad taking up a table. Will definitely return."
"Great spot for some casual grub and a couple of drinks. This place has an awesome location with a cute little outdoor seating area. Nearly everything on the menu is good, although the portions are a bit on the small side and the price is a bit on the high side for what it is. Otherwise, worth a visit and if they have the elusive "fish wings" on the menu, get them! They're delicious!"
"Great beer selection and the local music nights are the best! Just what Pb has been needing! We love it here!"
"I would never have thought a brewery was the perfect place to take kids. They only serve birria type of food, but you're welcome to go next door and order from Lolita taco shop and bring your food over. The birria that was ordered was well liked. The place has some games and plenty of room inside and out for kids to run around"
"This place is a GEM;) Thank you Jeffery for your kindness, cute smile, and a lot of coke refills. We will definitely be back to here!"
"Ordered takeout via their website, so this review is solely based on their food!Got the poke bowl, Baja fish burrito, Mahi tacos, and fish sticks from the kids menu (this is basically a small plate of fish and chips). The Mahi didn't have much flavor but I'm guessing they expect you to salsa it up a bit more. The fish burrito was huge! Everything very reasonably priced and at a convenient location! Would come back for those giant fish burritos if we're back in the area!"
"This great little local brewery on 3rd Ave in Chula Vista was our second stop on a winding pub crawl around San Diego. Veteran-owned, it was busy on a summer Friday night. Street parking. I found something besides IPA - always a win. Support local!"
"We found this Hillcrest taco joint via IG and couldn't believe what we were seeing. One of their specialty taco has a whole steak in it and at this point, I'm not even sure if I would call these tacos but I'm not complaining. Being in Hillcrest, there isn't much parking around. We had to circle a bit to find street parking a couple of blocks away. The restaurant is a little small and by the end of our meal, there was a line of people waiting to be seated. Service here is great though and all the workers were welcoming and friendly. Steak & Bones Fries w/ Angus Beef: Great appetizer to share. Obviously, when you add meat, it'll come as an extra cost. Fries are crunchy and there's a good distribution of cheese and guac. The angus beef was also super tender and flavorful. It's like an enhanced carne asada fries! Bad To The Bone: From the Specialty Menu, this taco has a huge beef rib bone. The meat falls right off the bone and it's easier to just take it all off right at the beginning. Even still, it's still big to hold like a taco so I ended up just eating it with utensils. And coming in under $10, this is super affordable for the amount of food. Steak & Bones Taco: This Specialty Taco is what we saw on IG and just as we saw, it comes with an entire steak. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the steak was. Since it's pretty cheap for one taco, I thought the quality of the steak would be low but it was actually really tender! Highly recommend and easily shared too. Just like the beef bone taco, it's too big to hold like a taco so you'll end up using utensils. Delicious meal and would recommend! If you're in the mood for steak and don't want to pay too much, this is the place to go."
"We had a large party meet up on a Friday evening happy hour with our kids. There was about 30 of us in total. There is ample parking out front and more parking in the back. This place is in the middle of businesses so it does get busy with local patrons. We lucked out and came before it go too busy to secure a nice area in the patio lawn. There is both indoor and outdoor space and a nice grassy area for kids to run around. It's semi enclosed, but you do have to keep an eye on our kids since there are ways to run out to the parking lots with speeding cars. Lots of beer choices and there were also seltzers and sours available. You are able to taste them before committing to a glass. There are also different sizes as well. Friendly service and quick to serve and suggest. This is a great family friendly (and pet friendly) brewery. We enjoyed how chill it was esp on a warm evening out. Definitely recommend this place and will be back!"
"Great little place to pop in for breakfast/brunch. Friendly server, nice menu, tasty selections, just a chill vibe and good morning, all around. Their salads were especially fantastic."
"Theres nothing like a good dive bar and you can't possibly do much better than the Instant Replay. I've been a semi-regular at this Rancho Bernardo place for decades and it whenever it changes (even incrementally) the more it remains the same. New owners Pete and Dave took over a few years ago and added credit cards and some new TV's. Those are big changes in a place that hasn't changed much over the years. It's impossible to go to the IR not see people you know. It's also impossible to go to the IR and not have a good time. People are friendly, they have pool tables, obviously they have booze. How can all those things not be fun? Please note Instant Replay doesn't serve food, but what the hell, there's pizza and Thai nearby. Sadly, the former drive-thru Taco Bell diagonally across the shopping center is now a Starbucks, (so no more late night fake Mexican food to help you sober up and drive home safely) but if you play your cards right the pizza place might deliver your pie to the IR. (Just ask for Joey.) Most recent visit 9/25/21. Jannette took great care of us. Three Pacifico's for me, three Coors Lights for Scott. Watched Giancarlo Stanton bang a grand slam for my Yankees against the Red Sox. First place baby! It was another chill visit, the latest in a very long line of chill visits, to this classic gem -- A truly timeless watering hole in RB. If you come in, please say hi. Thanks, IR. I love you."
"I love barbecue and heard good things about this place. Their original location is in Poway and that's where they smoke their meats. Since we arrived around dinner time, we weren't able to try the brisket. We started with a beer for him and strawberry milkshake for me. The milkshake was smooth and creamy. We shared the spare ribs, cajun dry rub wings, hot links, pulled pork, mac n cheese, bean crack, and Cajun fries.Everything was brought out pretty quickly. Each item comes with picked onions and pickles, which I loved. My favorites were the hot links, ribs, and seasoned fries. Service was quick and friendly. I will have to come back to try their brisket next time!"

FOOD:Meat Lovers (Recommend)For those that love your protein, this is for you. What's not to love - Pepperoni, Bacon, and crumbled sausage! Gooey cheese and the bread was fresh and crispy.CUSTOMER SERVICE:Kevin was great! Friendly dude and quick with our service!TL; DR OVERALL:4.5 Stars! Deeelicious. "It had been a minute since we last visited Kilowatt Brewing and I don't know why. It is totally our jam. A really great spot in OB. Dog friendly, cool OB vibes, fun games and a great selection of beer and seltzers. The beertenders are always great as is the clientele. During our most recent visit there were eight of us. We found a great spot in the sun on the patio. Great times, great friends and great beer."
"This place was actually a surprise. I went thinking it was going to be a dive bar with cringy music but it was the complete opposite. It sort of gave me BWW vibes but more pubby. We went around 915p-930p and it wasn't packed at all even for our large crowd. Your order at the register and the first time I ordered with a gentleman, easy and quick. The second time, went back up and there was a woman there packing orders who didn't acknowledge me for at least 3-5 mins - not a "be right you" nothing ; yes I could see what she was doing but there was still a lack of customer service. She made up for it when she brought us our meals and was very quick with all the extra stuff we asked for (salt, pepper, etc).OH!!! The biggest surprise was that they actually served a Greek / Mediterranean cuisine and not the typical bar food. I was impressed and it was actually pretty good!Overall - it was a nice spot, good food, good drinks, and okay service."
"I usually can't find anything I enjoy at breweries, but Pure Project had (smoothie) beer of all time!We were walking around Balboa Park and had some time to kill before it was happy hour. Decided to come here to grab some beers. I asked to try the No Trouble in Paradise and was immediately hooked. It tasted like juice! But juice that got you tipsy :) We came right at opening so it was completely empty. They don't have food here, so we quickly went down the street for a sandwich and brought it back. The bartender was also super nice."
"Good prices and excellent beer if you're a fan of craft brewing. Vegan smash burger was bomb"
"I didn't know this existed! One of my friends went here, so of course, I had to check it out! This is a Hawaiian themed speakeasy within Kilowatt brewery. Love the theme and its small and intimate with a lot of Hawaiian art around. Dranks:Scorpion Bowl. Ok, this is strong! Sip it slowly, bartenders give loose pours!Food:I had the chicharonnes and huapia. This was okay. Customer service is great, the servers were super friendly. There's plenty of signs so that you can easily find the hidden door."
"Absolutely delicious and great service. The staff was super helpful in helping us choose what to order and the food was amazing. Out quickly and great quality. Highly recommend!"
"I really like the vibe of this karaoke bar! It has a neo-noir asian vibe. Feels like I'm in downtown shanghai or something. The speakers are pretty good and they have a decent song selection. I docked a star cause their app is so bad. Pro tip: you can make reservations over the phone. We were able to grab a room on Saturday night by calling day of."
