I love soup and I love my vegetarian options so this restaurant was perfect meeting up with my friend for lunch. She loves soup and loves all the meats so this worked great for both of us!I got the Tom Yum and she got the classic bone broth. Be careful, there are two sections! She foolishly filled up on the first station lol and then had to add from the second of course, so her soup ended up being $32 haha while mine was $15.You make your selections, drop off your bowl, take a number, find a table, then they bring it out piping hot and delicious! Then you pay before you leave. I'm so glad that we came right when they opened at 11 for lunch, this place fills up quickly!!

Came here a few weeks ago and it did not disappoint! Equivalent to a frozen yogurt establishment where you add however much you want and pay based on total weight. Food: Many options including your go-to hotpot ingredients such as fish ball, beef, lamb, fish, enoki, Napa cabbage, and unique selections such as ube ramen and crowned daisy. Service: Very friendly. Staffed explained their food concept in quick and succinct manner. Ambiance: Small restaurant with seating from 2-8 people. Really makes the giant bowl they give you look a lot bigger Overall I enjoyed this location and will be coming back when I am in the area and need a hotpot fix

Love this place! I have been going at least twice a month since I discovered it over the summer. Whether it is a Building your own bowl here is simple because everything is categorized together. They have a good variety of vegetables, seafoods, meats, and noodle types. My go tos are baby cabbage, bokchoy, squash, fish balls, quail eggs, knife cut noodles, and angus beef rolls. It is reasonably priced with it being $14.99 per pound, but there is currently a minimum of 1lb per bowl. The broths are nice and flavorful, I have yet to try the dry mix but I like that option for when I do not want to have a soup. The overall restaurant is nice and clean. Self service sauce bar is filled with different kinds of dipping sauces. Staff is attentive and nice. Seating is decent, when it is busy the place can feel a little bit cramped but still tolerable. The only downside is trying to split the checks as they do not offer multiple cards at one table.

With the propagation of hot pot restaurants in the Eastbay Zhangliang Malatang is the newest one. Located on Fallon Road in Dublin it's just one of two in that retail center. ZLM is a pick your ingredients and pay by weight. The ingredient choices are plentiful stacked orderly. There are about 5 broths to choose from. Just a normal size bowl after weighing comes out to be average $20 to $25 which would almost get you AYCE at the other hot pot restaurants in the area. We've been to ZLM a couple times and they still have some improvements to their service to be made. ie. They close in the afternoon but because they wanted to leave 40 min early they asked if I could take out. I refused and they relented. (Minus Star) Parking is hard in the busy center at peak hours.

This place is a make your own malatang place. It takes a little while to have your food cooked and there's minimal interaction with staff, but somehow the ingredients transform into an amazing malatang! Mine wasn't spicy because I got the beef bone broth, but amazing! Definitely would want to bring back my other friends and family as well next time. Small place with lots of seating but can get packed quickly.

My new fav build your own hotpot! The Tom Yum brother is pure FLAVOR TOWN!!! There's even lemon grass pieces in the broth, which many other places seldom have,While on the smaller side, Zhangliang knows how to handle business. They are clean, quick, and efficient. Meat quality is so-so, but I think they have the best broth around.

My new favorite Malatang spot in Dublin/Livermore borders. If you LOVE hot pots like I do, you need to try this place!!So many ingredients to choose from, select the only things you like to eat!! Beef broth is my favorite bc I can't do spicy, I'm weak like that. Awesome customer service!! Will be back very soon!

Located in the Fallon plaza near Shabu king and cold stones. There is a lot but parking can be a hit crazy if it's super busy.We arrived around 7:45 on a Saturday evening and there was a queue. We out our name down and waited outside. The wait wasn't too long but wasn't short either. If you opt to do takeout, you can just go inside and make your bowl then pay and leave. The process is very fun. I like being able to control what meats/seafoods/vegetables/noodles/etc go into my food! Be careful though because your cost adds up quicks. The ingredients stand is very well kept here and they continue to refill and keep things in stock. The bowls are either $14.99 a lb for the soup or $15.99 a lb for dry mix! I opted for the dry mix because I was not feeling soup. It is automatically a mild spice so you can't control that. I had no problem with it and enjoyed the mild spice but for some in my party, the mild was too much. They didn't finish their meal. You weight your bowl, go sit or make your sauce, they cook, and then bring your food to the table. There is a sauce bar near the corner and a water refill station. The wait for the food was quite a bit but not too bad. Overall I enjoyed this very much. I would definitely come back again.

Meat quality and variety of ingredients is good, but overall I think dining out for this is just average. I've tried a few other Malatang choose-your-own type of restaurants, but I feel like my at-home hotpot is extremely similar. I guess if you don't wanna buy and prep all the ingredients yourself, this is a convenient option.I think I made the mistake of choosing the mushroom broth because it really just tasted like cabbage soup. I tried my friend's beef bone broth and it was very rich in Szechuan spice, but I'm the type of person who thinks Szechuan peppers taste like tv static. Although, their chili oil was mild and added flavor back into my food! At the sauce bar, the tub of chili oil was 90% oil and barely any chili crisp, so we asked one of the servers for some without that much oil. She was really sweet and got us some from the kitchen. The sauce bar also had satay, peanut sauce, sesame oil, oyster sauce, green onions, and cilantro. All these mixed together make the elite dipping sauce which each bite practically required. Visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed to the brim. Waitlist situation was a bit confusing as finding the clipboard was like playing iSpy (hint: it was on the counter behind the bowls). Groups were crowding around the entrance so it was confusing if you needed to line up. The restaurant itself is pretty small, especially the refrigerated section, which are two fixtures, similar to the ones in a grocery store where they store the vegetables. The weighing area is right by that too so it can get cramped.

At this restaurant, the price you pay is determined by the weight of your uncooked food. The minimum weight is 1 lb.When you walk in, they show you where to sit. Then you go up to the front, grab a bowl and tongs, then select the frozen items you want in your soup. Once you're done selecting your food, you take it to the counter and they weigh your food. Then they ask what type of soup you want. They then give you a receipt showing what you ordered, but you don't pay until you're done eating. There was a good selection of frozen food to choose from. I ordered about a pound of food, and chose the Tom Yum soup. While waiting for our food, we went to the sauce area to make our own sauces. Our food was ready pretty quickly and didn't seem like we had to wait very long. The soup was super hot (temperature-wise) when it came to our table. (Which is good for those who like your soup piping hot, but not so good if you don't. I feel like I almost burned my mouth trying the soup). Also, since the soup was hot, the food in it was hot as well (which I guess is better to have cooked food vs. still frozen or cold food. ).The Tom Yum soup was not what I expected, but it wasn't bad. It definitely had a spice to it. I would probably pick another soup next time. After a pound of food, I would say I was fed, but definitely not full. I might need to add more next time.
