Oops..did I really skip over writing a review for Yumkimbap? I placed an order a couple months ago early November (got a special discount code after attending a YES event at Basecamp where we were served beef or veggie kimbap after class). I ordered online and with the discount, I think my veggie kimbap came out to around $8. The business is located in a ghost kitchen and parking wasn't terrible. I went around 5 or 6pm on a weekday. Upon entering, I checked in with someone sitting right past the entrance and told them I was there to pick up an order from Yumkimbap. I got my order within seconds of arriving. Chihee was so sweet, and came out to thank us for supporting her small business. The kimbap was fresh and I devoured it quickly. I also like how it comes with side sauces - not traditional for kimbap. The coupon made it so much more worth it, but I can see how the entrees might get a bit pricey. I do think that the owner puts in a lot of time and effort into sourcing quality ingredients, and it's expensive nowadays to try to start your own business. My only wish is that the veggie kimbap had an alternative protein, like tofu. To be fair, it is priced cheaper than the meat-based kimbaps.

If you don't already know, I love this place. I wish I could have it all the time but alas, they have limited hours and only open during the week (no weekends). This is a food hall so no seating, only picking up orders from here. I ordered online and came by to pick up. Parking is super tricky here as there are many food delivery people picking up at the same time in an industrial area. Eventually I always find a spot. It's better to park on El Camino (it's just a busy st). I've learned it's a little easier to go later in the day. I love how fresh the kimbap is. The radish is the perfect compliment to the roll. And the nutella mochi is perfection. And the owner Chihee is the sweetest! She even taught me the best way to eat leftovers. I've ordered from here multiple times already because I live close by and I love this so much. This was literally something I didn't know I needed in my life, but I'm glad we have this in San Mateo now! I've tried almost every item on the menu.

i was unaware this was not a restaurant but rather a door dash pickup location. not a problem just not well marketed and no phone number. i enjoyed my food and the worker gave me an extra roll due to slow service. i would definitely come back for a grab and go meal. also very affordable!

We're huge fans of kimbap as a well rounded meal for our family with kiddos so I was excited to try this when I saw a concept dedicated to kimbap. I will say it is on the pricier side but you get a lot of fresh fillings inside. It's more the size of futomaki which is bigger. Sure, Hmart is cheaper but it's also a lot farther from where we are. We've only ordered to go online but I personally haven't been to their kitchen to order in person yet.

It was super hot and we were craving a cold dish that we could get as takeout to eat at our friend's house! We found this place on Yelp and were satisfied. We got the beef and fishcake kimbaps, and both were really good and hit the spot - also super reasonably priced!! When my friend got there, the owner was super friendly and recommended to order online next time :)

My friend and I shared the beef bulgogi kimbap and the spam kimbap and they were both very good. I would say the beef one had a lot more flavor but the entree does come with really flavorful sauces that added to the flavor profile. I loved the convenience of ordering and picking up, the food came out really fast. It's definitely a little strange inside but it feels nice to eat local and support the owners!

Heard about the San Mateo food mall (complex of kitchens for small food businesses) and thought I'd check it out. It isn't well marked, but walk a little east of Waze directions and you'll see an open door - I ordered pickup so I didn't use the code reader. - walk in and speak to a person - tell them your name and "restaurant" - tried yumkimbap - I love rolls and I love bibimbap - but I didn't really like it in this form. The flavor is right, the format wasn't for me - though it was tidy enough to eat a few pieces in the car - I look forward to returning for a lunch under $20 that is out of the ordinary. Signage on the door and on the sidewalk would help all of the businesses inside here.

Very delicious kimbap!!!! I'm really happy I can find kimbap nearby than going down to San Jose. The house-made soy sauce really good and I would love to pair it with noodles! Kimbap feels very healthy and the filling portion is a lot. Parking in the area is tricky but, according to the sweet owner of YumKimbap, she said can double park since the food will be ready and can quickly pickup.

This is hands-down my favorite spot whenever I'm on the north side of the Bay. Everything here is incredible; the hand rolls, the bakery items, every single bite is packed with freshness and authenticity. You can tell this family has poured their heart into creating something truly special in this community. I especially love chatting with the owner. She's the sweetest little delight and makes every visit feel so personal and welcoming. If you stop by, you have to try her chocolate mochi it's truly out of this world! While they only sell them in bulk now, if you ever have the chance to cater with them, don't hesitate it's 100% worth it. Your time and money couldn't go to a better place. Absolute gem!
