Yuki Sushi is my boyfriend and I's FAV spot for sushi!!! We tried this spot a while ago, and it has become a regular spot for us ever since. It's a smaller cozy spot, they don't have much seating available but they do have tatami mats and low tables available for seating as well which I thought was really cool! Service is always quick and nice here. They're very attentive and friendly! We love the complimentary soba noodles they offer at the beginning of the meal. It's so good, and my boyfriend debates making an actual order of it every time. So far we have tried the Crunch Roll, Dragon Roll, and M Roll. All the rolls were great, but we loved the M Roll. The highlight was the tempura jalapeño on top, it was soo good and all the flavors mixed perfectly together! I will also say all of their rolls are reasonably priced and honestly on the more inexpensive side compared to other sushi spots I've tried in the bay. We like to go with the Standard Bento as well. You get to choose 2 entrees, and I like to go with the Chicken Teriyaki and Gyoza/Chicken Karage. It also comes with miso soup, salad, and a pasta salad. The Chicken Teriyaki is easily one of the best I've had. It's glazed in a sweet and savory sauce, somehow while maintaining a crunch and crispiness in the chicken. So good!!I don't think I'll ever get sick of this place. Perfect spot for 2! If you have a bigger party I would be mindful that their seating is a bit smaller. I love this place!

TLDR: I'm not sure what the clipboard in front of the restaurant was, but it doesn't appear to be too important as a couple behind me held the door open for me while I was trying to figure out what to do with it and the host seated us both at separate tables in spite of them not using the clipboard. When I got back I noticed my name scratched out to indicate that I was served, but among the numerous people I had seen enter I had only seen one name belowCame here for lunch and was greeted with friendly service and an option between a regular table and a tatami, which involved having to take off your shoes. I decided to opt for the regular table, and was given water while I figured out what to order. The ambiance is sleek yet comforting - small enough to feel intimate, while still having enough room to seat plenty of people with a section for tatamis for those who want a more authentic experience.I decided to get the sashimi combo, which came with miso soup, a salad and plain rice. The sashimi was good (one of the pieces was a little harder to chew in comparison to the others but was still edible), but not too filling (Luckily the sides helped with that lol). It's no Sushi Arashi (which is probably a hard standard to live up to considering the thick cuts of sashimi that they use) but it was enjoyable enough. If I were to come back again, I'd probably go for one of the rolls instead

Yuki Sushi was a go-to spot for my wife and I when we lived in Santa Clara, and I'm happy to report that over five years later they are still going strong, delivering quality Japanese meals in a cozy and chic environment. Each meal starts off with an amuse bouche of soba noodles which is a pleasant addition that you don't see too often. One of the things I appreciate about Yuki Sushi is that while they certainly specialize in actual sushi dishes, they have an extensive offering of both hot and cold Japanese dishes beyond your typical rolls and nigiri. The Beef Tataki was a satisifying appetizer, though they certainly stretch the definition of "seared" as this was pretty much just straight-up raw. Nothing wrong with that and it was still a tasty dish, just be mentally prepared for it to moo back at you when you eat it. The Chicken Kara Age was a generous portion, but honestly it wasn't my favorite variation of this popular dish. I found the breading and chicken itself to be overly dry, and they don't serve it with any kind of dipping sauce which is a shame. Even a simple Kewpie mayo on the side would go a long way to improving it. The sushi scene in San Jose is pretty crowded with options, but Yuki Sushi sets itself a cut above with its enjoyable atmosphere and extensive menu options. If you are craving some Japanese food in Santa Clara, it's definitely worth a visit.

Very cozy Japanese restaurant! We got the yuki special which was a huge pot with udon, broccoli, fish, shrimp, clams, tofu, and meat. There was a bit of a wait around dinner time on Saturday but the food came pretty fast after we got seated. Would definitely revisit!

Despite the 1k+ reviews on yelp, Yuki Sushi is a huge disappointment. We came here for lunch, and had the probably worst chirashi don in my life. Maybe they decided to add a "halloween flair" to the dish, but the entire don tasted extremely sweet as if im eating candy. The "sweet vegetables" which arent usually in a chirashi don (and in very large number relative to the fish here) is overseasoned with sugar and the taste heavily bleeds into everything else. Tamago was also very sweet, as well as the tuna (for some reason). The little pieces of fish had a rubbery texture and didnt really have much flavour to them; you can get better quality from grocery store sashimi. Finally the rest was extremely cold as if it was taken from the refridgerator. As can be shown in the picture, 30% of the rice is uncovered, and just under half of that is veges and tamago. Overall for 26$ this dish is nothing but a grocery store leftover that's recoated in sugar and repackaged in a ceramic for easy profit. What a disgrace. Needless to say, i will never come back for another meal.

Yuki Sushi is one of our go-to's for solid sushi. We like the Santa Clara location best for the cozy restaurant space, service and ease of parking. I've dined in for lunch and dinner and gotten takeout, and they are always reliable. I like getting the sushi special for lunch. Staff are always warm and attentive. The space is small, but we're always seated within 10-15 minutes when we go. Our favorites are the sushi lunch/dinner entrees and sunset roll. For 3 people for takeout, the total came out to about 30$/person, which is fairly standard for Bay Area sushi.

I've been coming here for several years now. I love supporting our local small businesses. The owner is consistently kind when I visit. I can tell by interactions with other customers that they too are treated well. Overall I like the energy this place brings. The quality of their sashimi and food is fresh and great! Today I decided to bring my son for the first time, he too loved it. The restaurant is small so expect a wait. They have a sign up sheet outside when it is busy, but it's worth the wait.

Food:Sunset Roll:4/5The lemon is sliced thinly and adds a lovely freshness to the roll. The salmon was a decent thickness as well. It's a very straightforward roll and it's a good choice if you don't know what to order! Jazz Roll:2/5While there are pickled vegetables and eel in the roll, you can barely taste it as it's overwhelmed by the avocado. The amount of pickles and eel in the roll is also minimal.Saba Fish dish: 4/5Fish is crispy and tastes well seasoned. The grated radish that comes with it helps the fish from being too greasy. It's a comforting meal with the fluffy rice that comes with it. Service:When I went, service was slow but the restaurant was also busy. The staff did check in often though which was appreciated. Ambiance: The location is well decorated and bustling. A bit crowded but once you're seated, it's alright. There's even a tatami mat section where you can remove your shoes and sit.

We ordered food to go last Friday and glad we did, this place is packed on a weekend night. Food was ready in a very timely manner. We ordered a sushi roll and sashimi, everything was extremely fresh and tasty. Will absolutely be back again. I recommend getting there early if you plan to eat inside.

I really enjoy this small sushi place. Their food is yummy and the service is excellent. There is always speciality dish advertised on the board in case you want to try something new. My last time there I enjoyed the vegetable tempura and salmon fillet. Don't forget the sashimi and sushi rolls. It gets quite packed early for Donny. So it's best to come early or simply a patient for a table to open up. This restaurant has be here for decades.
