This is a 30 years old Japanese restaurant in the Mission San Jose district. Most of the customers are neighbors and friends . Some were kids when they came here for lunches and diners . They had a change of ownership since the first Japanese chef retired back to Japan . The younger chef took over and he is just as good . They have better quality of sushi now with a small increase in price ( inflation over the years) . The hot items from the kitchen are very good too . I love their tonkatsu, teriyaki chicken , ginger pork & grilled Hamachi Kama . The lunch combo $18.50 with miso soup and salad . Japanese green tea is a compliment of the restaurant. You pay $2 extra for sashimi and sushi for lunch . Personally I don't like the mayonnaise inside the roll . So I avoid ordering the California roll . Some of the small table ( for 2 people) is very dark and I don't like to eat in a dark place. I asked to be seated on the other side . They have many empty tables for 4 . However the hostess lady would not let me move , even the whole hour that I was there no other customers came in . That was unreasonable in my opinion. Other than that , the service and food are good . This is one of my regular place I go for lunch x

It's a small restaurant located in the corner of a plaza. Has some Japanese decor inside. Went there for lunch and ordered to go. It was about $20 for a bento box which I thought was pricy considering it is just fish and rice with a small salad. The lunch combo also comes with miso soup BUT ONLY if you dine in. I found it odd that they don't include the miso soup in to go orders but still charge the same price. It made me feel like I got less than what I paid for and it's already expensive...The fish was good but nothing to write home about. I had the salmon misoyaki and salmon teriyaki on top of some rice. A small salad in one corner. And a small side of bean sprouts (random) in the other corner which I didn't really like. Can't say much about the service cause I didn't dine in. The server just brought my food and gave me the receipt to sign before leaving. When I was there, the restaurant was mostly empty besides two tables. I don't think I'll come back here and I can't say I would recommend it either.

Yuki's is a Fremont treasure and has been for the past 20 years. You can't beat the food or the service. We've been coming here since they were located on Mission by the post office. The food is excellent and when we dined in recently it was one of the best meals I've had there. Service makes it feel like home - we love Anna!I ordered the 3 item combo with salmon misoyaki, ginger pork, and sashimi and it came with rice, miso soup and salad for $27.99. For the price, the portions were super generous and the quality was so good. We also ordered a couple specials - the chawanmushi, kakuni bowl, kampachi, and gindara. The kakuni bowl was the best my partner had ever had - everyone at our table said it was how pork should be made lol so tender, a little sweet, and perfect with the hot rice and mustard on the side. The gindara had a perfect grill taste and was super tender - you can see from the pic how big the portion was.

Ten years ago this place used to be a staple for my family until the service was so poor we stopped going. Decided to give them another chance. I was ecstatic that the quality of the food has not changed and the service has improved. One of my favorites is their grilled hamachi Kama which is perfectly crispy but not dry and the portions were generous. I also love their salmon misoyaki and nabeyaki udon. Excited to come back and order their lunch special which allows you to mix and match their specials (eg ginger pork, agedashi tofu, salmon misoyaki, etc) Plenty of parking and the restaurant is clean.

My family and I have been regulars at this restaurant for years and I am glad they have continued to stay in business serving quality and fresh sushi even after the hardships of the pandemic! I often order the 3 item combo for a variety in my meal. Lately I've been getting the ginger pork, tonkatsu, and chef's choice sushi, but I have also enjoyed their salmon (misoyaki and teriyaki) in the past. My one downside for this place is that they are quite expensive and therefore are a once-in-a-while dinner option for me. Prices have really increased over the last decade, which is understandable but hard to keep up with unfortunately. But I still would recommend giving this hidden gem a chance for their fresh and delicious fish and entrees!

It is rare to find a restaurant, that you first dined 30 years ago, is still in business. Yuki is one of them. It survived the ownership changed(Yuki retired in late 2000), and the nasty pandemic that wiped out most of small businesses. Unlike the other comments about the poor service, we've found the same waitress is still there but wearing the reading glasses now. We believe the foods quality are the same except the presentation is different. The decor also was upgraded to enhance the fengshui. We typically have the bento, sushi, and appetizers. This time is no exception. The seaweeds salad was good, not to mention the California rolls using the real crab meats. The bento combo consisting of smoked Saba, Salmon Misoyaki and the Ginger Beef, is still our favorite. Bottom line, only the old timers will realize how amazing this restaurant is still the same after all these years.

Hidden gem! So glad I found this place. My favorite is the Chef's Choice Sushi Dinner. Fish is fresh and serving size is ample. I also like their 3-item bento box. Service is fast, although a bit curt and not the friendliest, but the quality of the food far makes up for it. I come here for dinners on weekends, it's not crowded, no reservation needed, and the place is pretty quiet. Price is decent. I'm not into sushi rolls, though you can find it here too. I look for places that do high quality, fresh fish, authentic Japanese style sushi.

The hostess or boss can't tell was rude and curt with us as soon as we came in. I dunno why she had such an attitude we literally had just walked in the door. We were not a huge party 4 adults 1 child 1 infant and we're not making a ruckus I dunno why she greeted us in that way. Aggressively asked us if we had a reservation while the restaurant was half empty with the capacity staying the same throughout our dining. The food was fine pretty standard food portions. But then I went outside and when the door closed behind me it must have caught this wire that powers their open sign. She said you knocked this down you put it back up. Uhhh your sign is not mounted with anything other than tape and a wish your door swings both ways. It's not my fault your sign is not mounted at all. I still obliged and helped put it back though and even helped to push the wire higher so it wouldn't catch. Not a sound of thanks. Just rude. Then at the end of all this they had the gall to add a 20% required tip. I will not be coming back here and will be telling everyone to avoid this place

Loved it all! Very nice interior, they were very kind to my sushi loving young kid, and the food was amazing. Very kind waitress, which goes a long way when you have a 3 year old. The unagi mini-don was very good, tender, and the perfect portion size. Very good, not bitter green tea, and my husbands salmon roe mini-don also great. We'll be back!

I don't usually leave reviews, but I feel like I need to warn others about this place. We came in for brunch last weekend, and from the start, the experience was a mess. The server was clearly overwhelmed and didn't seem to care about any of the tables. We waited 20 minutes just to get water, and then another 15 before someone even took our order. By the time our food came, it was lukewarm at best. The eggs were overcooked, and the bacon was so greasy I couldn't even finish it.To make things worse, the place was filthy. There were crumbs all over the floor and sticky spots on the table that hadn't been wiped down properly. I even saw the waiter wipe his hands on his pants before serving us, which was just gross. At the end of our meal, when I asked to speak to a manager, the response was that they were "busy" and couldn't come out. Really? That's the best excuse you've got? The whole experience was disappointing, and it's clear they don't care about their customers or the quality of food they serve. I won't be back, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
