This place is so good that I always consider gate keeping it. At this point, I think I've tried majority of their menu and they never disappoint. Service is quick and for the amount of customers coming in/out, it's fairly clean too.The restaurant is fairly tiny but the wait is never too long. My favorite things to get:- shrimp rice roll- custard egg bun- siu mai- Chinese donut - preserved egg porridge

Solid 3 starsI feel the quality has gone down, compared to 1 year ago. Been here a few times in the 12 months. It is a good alternative to dim sum, and more affordable!Their har gaw, shu mai, shrimp roll and black preserve egg porridge are my go to dishes.

I noticed this restaurant was packed with people when I passed by, so I got curious about how good the rice noodle rolls could be at such an unassuming place. I decided to give it a try, and the conclusion is that the rice noodle rolls were absolutely fantastic--far better than what I've had at other dim sum restaurants. The congee was also exceptional, and I'm planning to come back to try all their congee flavors in the future.I ordered two types of rice noodle rolls: Dry Shrimp and Scallions Rice Noodle Roll and Marinated Shrimp and Beef Rice Noodle Roll. Both were silky smooth and delightfully tender. As for the filling, the Shrimp and Beef version stood out. The shrimp and beef were fresh and flavorful, with crunchy vegetables adding an extra layer of texture, making it a more satisfying choice. The Dry Shrimp and Scallions filling, while simple, was still enjoyable. The most surprising delight was the Tiwan Style Assorted Congee. It was packed with rich ingredients like egg strips, scallions, slices of cured meat, and peanuts. The congee itself was thick, fragrant, and had a smooth, creamy texture--absolutely delicious. On the other hand, the fried chicken wings were just average. While the exterior was crispy, the meat inside wasn't tender enough and felt a bit greasy.

This is the best Hong Kong-style congee I've had in the Bay Area! I went on a Sunday at lunchtime and had to wait about 30 minutes--this place is so popular! I can't believe I didn't know about this hidden gem. The shrimp rice roll was amazing too! I'm definitely coming back whenever I crave congee.

I'm a fan! They're known for and specialize in rice noodles rolls! Way more options of it than the typical dim sum restaurant -- you can get shrimp, meat, or Chinese doughnut or a combo! Also get the congee here -- they have fish, pork, preserved egg. They also have other dim sum items such as hargow and shu mai. And buns -- bbq pork buns or dessert ones (custard). The fried buns with condensed milk is also a sweet treat. Service is fast and food comes out fast as well! The ladies / workers are nice.

Food 4/5Good as usual. Big portion. Their congee was really soft and comfy. Lots of toppings inside as well. Service: quick fast Chinese restaurant. Ambiance: busy place inside a busy plaza. Parking can be difficult during weekends. I usually go early to avoid long wait.

I was craving some congee in a cold afternoon and this place popped up in my search. This restaurant is in a busy shopping plaza so parking can be difficult in rush hours. The place is small with tables a bit close together to get more people seated. I went on a weekday early lunch, got seated right away. I got the pork liver congee and beef and shrimp rice noodle roll. The congee was good, pretty lightly seasoned so you can adjust to your taste with spices available at the table. Plenty of pork liver. Delicious and warming. The rice noodle roll was fantastic. The texture of the rice roll is the best I have had. Very soft, delicate, with some chew. The rice wasn't super thick and the filling was plenty. I am not sure, but i think they make the rice rolls in house? If they do, then that is what makes this place unique. The food was also very reasonably priced for what you are getting and the service was quick. Highly recommend!

Specializing in Chang Fen (Rice noodle rolls) and congee, but they have some other dim sum. Came on a Saturday evening and there were some empty tables. Perhaps it's more of a lunch spot.Great:Pork and Preserved Egg Congee - Really great large chunks of pork and egg in this one. Pork is really tender and not overcooked or stringy. The flavor of the congee is nicely fragrant with ginger.Dough Stick Rice Noodle Roll - by far the simplest dish we ordered, but really well done. I appreciate that they left the sauce on the side to keep the dough sticks from getting soggy.Good:Sliced Fish Congee: I definitely prefer the pork and preserved egg one but this one is really good too! Fish was tender and the congee is flavored the same. Just a matter of preference I suppose.Beef Brisket Rice Noodle Roll: kind of a unique take on them. Instead of the usual sweet soy sauce they flavor this one with the braised beef juices which I thought was pleasant. The brisket itself has nice big chunks of tendon in it and the meat is very tender. I thought they could have added some more beef or l wrapped it inside but it was just topping the noodle rolls.Just ok:Shrimp rice noodle rolls: a classic dim sum dish so I had high expectations considering this is in their name. I thought they didn't put enough shrimp in these. Other than that there was nothing wrong with them but I probably will order something else next time!Fried spring rolls: vegetable filling, which I was disappointed in. Nothing terrible, but nothing spectacular which stood out.Service was quick and efficient!Overall I think it's really good value here, and they do have some pretty outstanding dishes here. I will certainly be back!

When I arrived, the place was busy; however, we were all seated instantly. I've never tried congee and rice rolls in a restaurant, and I wanted to see what was good! There were plenty of tables and seats inside, may be a bit noisy if busy. The rice noodle rolls with shrimp were good and soft and not too chewy. My favorite was the dough stick rice noodle roll, as it combined two of my favorites! I also dipped them in the congee, which softened the dough stick. The congee was good, though it would have been better with more flavor and meat. I hope to try the other congee!
