This is in a tiny shopping center next to a 7-11. It is nice that it had a selection of dim sum even at night-I love dim sum. But I was craving on a cold, rainy night a nice wor won ton soup and asked to add Hong Kong style thin egg noodles so "won ton mein". There was a language barrier with some of the staff, but at the end they got it right. Well, except I think they gave me sweet sour pork instead of chicken.The won ton soup hit the spot at least. It was a bit bland-needed some more salt, but it was fine. Noodles were on point. I would give it a 3.7 rating.Chicken chow mein was ok and standard 3.3Hong Kong style pan fried noodles with beef and Chinese broccoli with thick gravy-this was ok-noodles were perfectly crisped up, but gravy was a bit too thick like it gelatinized. 3.0Sweet and sour chicken which looked and tasted like pork. Meat was grayish so pork I am sure-as chicken would be white. Standard usual taste so 3.3Pork buns were fine and standard 3.5.Tofu skin wrapped around meat -this was good and substantial. 3.5They gave me free egg drop soup too which was nice. I didn't taste it as I was full from the won ton soup, but the rest had it. Staff were all friendly and they had several helping me.So overall, I would give it a 3.4 overall rating for the food. It is your usual standard Chinese restaurant, solid and usual taste, so decent.

I would like to separate the food and my experience.The food was delicious. Egg tart spot on. Soup dumplings were giving. And everything else was yummy too.I came in person and placed a takeout order and it took them about two hours to make it while tables were sitting and being served and leaving at that time. I think they forgot about my order. Waiting about two hours was disappointing. The gentleman who took my order said between 15 to 20 minutes the order should be ready. They did give me a free soup.

Rate: 3.00-3.75WooHao Chinese Restaurant at 427 Gellert, a block south from Serramonte shopping center in a newly renovated space in a tiny strip mall next to a 7-11. Parking is limited. The menu is Cantonese classics with dim sum offered daily until 3PM! Promptly greeted when I walked in the door. Did takeout out so cannot speak to service dining in. Front desk person was very nice and helpful w/questions. No problems ordering and paying. Ordered to go:DRY FRIED BEEF CHOW FUN w/beef, onions & bean sprouts. At $16.99 this was the most expensive item in my order. Wok hei was okay, decent chow fun that satisfied the craving. SALT & PEPPER TOFU is expectedly fried tofu but for some reason this was, while tasty, was the greasiest tofu I've had in awhile. Biting into little pockets of oil. The leftovers seemed to exude more oil if possible. Pass for the greasiness. SCRAMBLED EGGS W/SHRIMP over rice plate. This was a good lunch plate for $14.50. The eggs nicely scrambled but still creamy with a generous amount of shrimp. Would order again. This came with a complimentary house corn soup which was pretty good. PRESERVED DUCK EGG & PORK CONGEE (JOOK) 12.95 was good with slivers of fresh pork and chopped preserved duck egg. Kudos for the fresh pork slivers which makes a big difference in taste! Definitely would order again. BITTER MELON, stir-fried w/onions, garlic in black bean sauce. This was a substitution for my beloved pea spouts w/garlic. Love bitter melon but usually in a restaurant my personal taste is it's too overcooked. Otherwise this was a good dish. I'd order again and ask for it cooked less. Decent nearby Cantonese restaurant near Serramonte. Would love to go back to try the dim sum, lunch plate specials from 11-5PM, clay pots, other varieties of congee/jook, and dinner specials.

We had 8 tables at this restaurant to celebrate the new Chinese new year. I was not impressed with the menu. The only thing I really enjoyed was the salmon sashimi. The steamed chicken dish was decent. The duck dish was really bony. Hardly any duck meat. Lobster with noodles was nice.

Food's always solid here, we normally come here after we visit the cemetery to pay our respects.I still enjoy coming here with the family. Food came out quick and flavors were on point.Sometimes I come during the week for their to go lunch specials, def worth it. Ig@blacktigereats

Decided to dine here recently after visiting the cemetery nearby with family. It's not as crowded as Koi Palace, but they were pretty busy. We snag the last available table as we entered.Casual dim sum restaurant with pretty good service. We had some delicious dim sum eats. Minus star for the Panda Egg Yolk Bun that came out without the Panda.

Overall a pretty decent dinner option. RESERVATIONS: A week before Chinese New Year, I was scrambling for dinner reservations, and WooHao was the only decently rated place where I could get a reservation for New Year's Day dinner. When I gave the date, time and size of my group over the phone, they said "Ok, thank you!" and were about to hang up, when I asked, do you want my name or phone number? Ok, yes, they took my number. But no need for my name. When we got there I was a little worried I wouldn't have a table, but there we were scribbled onto a piece of paper hanging on the wall.THE SERVICE: Our 3yo started flipping out soon after we arrived, the type of tantrum where she would not even let us pick her up, so we had to sit there and let her cry it out. Our server quickly brought us a plate with four fried sesame balls, and they also brought some hard candy to try to help. This was all very nice of them. When she finally let us pick her up and my husband was heading toward the entrance, the staff were not-so-subtlely gesturing towards the door (ok - yes we get it and we're embarrassed enough). Later I apologized to our server and thanked them for the desserts, she laughed it off like oh it was no big deal, but you know, the other clients just want a nice dinner. Keep in mind it was pretty loud in the restaurant, so my daughter's crying wasn't very piercing, maybe could be heard one table away.There was a table next to us that were a little peeved about the slow service and feeling ignored. I saw out of the corner of my eye they were brought one dish, which they said was the wrong one, and the staff took it back (it was not put on their table). Very soon afterwards, we were told that the kitchen was backed up and our Chicken Chow Mein was going to take a long time, but if we wanted to switch to the Beef Tomato Chow Mein, it could come faster. We agreed and it came out almost immediately - I did wonder if that was the dish that was sent back from the table next to us.Then the rest of our food took so long that even though we were trying to eat slowly, we had almost finished that Chow Mein by the time our next dish came out. FAMILY-FRIENDLY: They offered high chairs. Generally kid friendly in the sense that there were lots of families there, it is not super quiet so a child making extra noise would not stand out too much.THE COST: $81.74 (before tips) for 4 entrees and 2 rice bowls.THE FOOD:* Tomato Beef Chow Mein ($16.99) - 3.5 stars. Slightly sweet, interesting flavor. Beef soft. Noodle texture lackluster. * Walnut Prawns ($19.95) - 3 stars. Too much sauce on the shrimp, it was caked on for some pieces. The shrimp was decent. The one sprig of cilantro on top was honestly sad.* Chinese Broccoli w Oyster Sauce ($15.95) - 3 stars. The oyster sauce is served on the side. It's hard to add it to the veggies and get it to coat evenly, or you are awkwardly tossing it with the spoon they give you. Veggies were fine, nothing out of this world.* Beef w Black Bean Sauce ($16.50) - 3.5 stars. Beef was pretty good, seemed more like a black pepper focused dish, as the meat was covered in very large black peppercorn pieces.

Very solid dim sum spot with reasonable pricing and wonderful service!Came in on a Sunday before noon and was still able to snag a table. The lines definitely weren't as long as Koi Palace though. Our favorite were the crispy salt and pepper shrimp, tender steamed spareribs, bouncy steamed beef balls, well-seasoned stuffed tofu skin rolls, and the plump siu mai. The har gao skin and cheung fun beef were both well-seasoned but the skin was a tad thick.Definitely will back for dim sum and to try out dinner!

We really liked that the front door had been moved to the front and the interior repainted. It made the dining room much brighter. The only negative comment that I have on the dining room is that the large front plate glass window needs either a closable curtain or blinds. My seat faced that window and while the sun was going down, it was constantly in my eyes. Service was decent. There were six of us for dinner. We came in two cars, ours arriving first. The four of us, myself, my wife, my mom and my brother carefully maneuvered our way through the menu and placed the order. The order taker (manager?) thought to ask if we wanted food right away or to wait until our guests arrived. He had also been very careful to help us navigate the menu. Although we requested two Diet Cokes, he came back and stated that they only had one left, and offered us either Coke or 7-up, which we declined. He was kind enough to bring us two glasses of ice. This being a Chinese restaurant, I didn't mention the 7-11 next door. It would have cut into the profit margin, but it certainly would have impressed this diner. I remember over 40 years ago, while attending a corporate holiday party at the old Bimbo's 365 club, I ordered a glass of milk. The waiter was obviously thrown off of his game. Then another guest who had already ordered a soda, changed his to a glass of milk. Two others at our table ordered milk as well. We watched as a poor busboy was given some cash and ran out to purchase the ordered milk. For tonight, our menu was:Yi-Fu Wonton Soup - 5 - I loved it. For those not familiar, the wonton is deep fried first and then dropped into a thickened broth, often with gravy. This one did not have the gravy but was still very flavorful. The wonton itself had shrimp along with the pork. My wife thought that the soup was salty. My wife thought that the filling was bland. Preserved Vegetables with Shredded Pork Rice Noodle - 4 - A very tasty dish that stayed hot the entire time it was on the table. Whole Crispy Chicken - 4 - As described. I've certainly had larger chickens but as prices continue to rise, I would guess that portions may get smaller to keep the menu price point down. I think that move is a mistake, but I understand why some would try to do this. Beef and Daikon Clay Pot - 4 - The flavors were on point. There was more tendon than beef but that's what I like anyway. The daikon was sliced and probably should have sliced thicker and then cut into four pieces so everyone could get some. Steamed Pork Patty with Salted Fish - 5 - This was the second-best dish for me tonight. It probably would have been good on its own, but I asked the order taker to ask the kitchen to add some chopped mushrooms and water chestnuts to the pork patty. That's the way grandma would have made it!Wok-fried Chinese Greens with Garlic - 5 - Though I did not partake, my wife said that it was very good.Steamed Royal Clams - 4 - This was only listed on the Chinese language specials table topper. Mom said that we had to try it so we ordered two. We ate one. lol. It wasn't bad but everyone took a taste from the first one and I guess no one wanted to start in on the second one. All of the ingredients, including the actual clam meat are either chopped or sliced so you could taste everything in one spoonful. Bitter Melon in Pan Fried Egg - 5 - LOLOL. THIS, was my favorite dish of the night. I hated bitter melon as a child! Well, this melon had apparently been soaked in cold water after being sliced and exhibited very little bitterness. So little, that I was left wanting more! Go figure. The egg was cooked until it began to caramelize, giving some crispy bits. It was seasoned perfectly with some salt and was just divine!This was a very good first experience with the reincarnation of this restaurant space. We'll have to have our other brother with us next time so we can order even more dishes. Hopefully by then, the window shad will be up and they'll have more Diet Coke in stock.

This place has good food and good service. We had a party of 10 and everyone enjoyed the dim sum. One of the dishes I recommend is the deep fried Lo Bak go. This is the first time I've had this. It was really good. Another plus was that my friend brought a bottle of wine and there was no corkage fee. That's another big plus. Price was average but everything else was great! We will definitely be going back.
