Date: Friday, May 26th, 2023Party of: 8 I believeMeal: DinnerPeninsula Restaurant Week ($70) x3*Glass of Prosecco (if La Marca $13 regular menu) x3*Octopus ($22 regular menu) x3*Steak Fries: $25 supplement ($65 regular menu)*Lamb Chops ($42 regular menu)*Salmon ($35 regular menu)*Chef's Choice of Dessert x3*Deviled Eggs ($16) x2*Spicy Moroccan Wings ($18)*Buffalo Cauliflower ($16)*BLT Caesar Salad ($18)*Grilled Lamb Chops ($42)*Pork Milanese ($40) x2*Pasta Carbonara ($25)*Skuna Bay Salmon ($35)*Corkage Fee ($20) x3*Bacardi: Diet Pepsi ($14)*Diet Pepsi ($4)*Iced Tea ($4)It was Peninsula Restaurant Week (PRW) and a group of us decided to check it out. Based on all the menus offered, we picked Wild Onion since it had the most variety for a larger group. I don't know how much dessert would have cost, but I think food wise, you don't save much with the restaurant week menu. We spent $235 on three PRW menus. Off the regular menu, it would have been $208 plus cost of desserts. So unless the desserts were $9+ each, there are no savings to be had. Tho we are drinkers, so if you count the glass of bubbles we got, that's an additional $39 if it's actually the La Marca prosecco they have on their normal menu.Corkage was a relatively decent price, so we brought a few bottles. I recall the octopus bring pretty good. Tender, chew, with a nice char. I don't eat lamb much since the hubby and most of my friends have an aversion. It was nice trying the chops here. They came three per order. For dessert, based on my pix, I believe it was cheesecake? I don't really recall it, but it looks nice. I just wished we could choose the desserts so there would be a variety.Okay spot for PRW. Most of us ending up ordering off the regular menu, so you don't need to come here for that special. Not counting the glass of bubbles, it's not much of a cost saving experience anyways.Note: After reviewing the receipt while writing this, I'm pretty sure the second lamb dish was supposed to be charged under the PRW menu which would have made the savings more worthwhile. That's $7 extra we paid for no reason.REVIEW #3535

Excellent food with a few vegetarian and lower calorie options. Very friendly staff and a lovely ambiance outdoors in a nicely lit garden setting

I came to check this restaurant out on a Friday night out with a friend. The interior was pretty fancy, and has lots of greenery. We were the only ones there at one point, and then a few people that actually stay in the hotel came out to eat and drink. The menu was pretty short, and they didn't really specialize in anything, so I got the shrimp scampi pasta with an angry orchard hard cider. The pasta was REALLY buttery, creamy, and cheesy that I got sick of it halfway, but the shrimps had a nice bounce and was very good. The beer both tastes and smell really good (tastes like apple cider mix with beer). My friend got the dirty wagyu burger, buffalo cauliflower, and a Shirley temple. She said that the burger doesn't taste heavy at all, and the fries were also good. The buffalo cauliflower was a good choice for an appetizers, and it really tasted like a healthy version of wings. The service and food was just okay. When we were done eating and getting ready to pay, we wanted to split our bill and our server look kinda irritated and annoyed. Since the restaurant is located in a hotel and it was also thanksgiving weekend, there's not that many people who would come down and eat here besides the ones that are staying in the hotel. There are much better restaurants to eat than here. I will say that it was a good experience eating at a restaurant where I'm not actually staying here.

A little surprised to see all the negative reviews here because we actually enjoyed our brunch here! We had the lobster Benedict (one with potatoes, the other with salad) but thought it was delicious with pretty generous portions of lobster meat on there. Service can be slow but I thought the food made up for it. Can't speak for the rest of the menu as we never tried but I'd say brunch was a good choice!

One star because zero isn't available. We are staying at the hotel. Got seated by the hostess. She gave us menus and immediately asked us if we needed more time. Weird. We literally just sat down. I guess we answered that question wrong because she never came back. We sat there for 15 minutes. There was only 2-3 other parties. Another employee (possibly server) chatted up the people next to us for 5-10 minutes. We left.

I got food to go at this restaurant one night at 8:56pm (they close at 9pm) even with my late order the staff was so friendly and actually seemed relieved for me that I got to place my order in time! The restaurant was so clean and decorated with a airy pleasant color palette with nice new looking furniture. The food was incredible. I loved the wings and the calamari was even better. The calamari was the best I have had in years- I'm not sure what sauce they serve with it but it is amazing! I would highly recommend this restaurant to people staying in the area even if you're not a guest at the hotel. I will definitely be back.

My friend and I swung in for brunch based off the beautiful pictures of the space. We were the only table for most of their weekend brunch which tells me a lot, and ultimately we understood afterwards: FOOD:Food was mediocre - burger undercooked and super soggy. Like the bun was just pure mush. Gross. Omlete was a bit overcooked so the eggs were a bit hard and rubbery. It was fine, now we know. Maybe their dinner is better.SERVICE:Staff were friendly, but hovered because they were so slow - no other patrons until right when we left. We didn't see any reason to rush out since we were the only table but I would've loved it if our server wasn't staring us down through the door every 5 minutes. LOCATION:When coming here, enter the hotel into Google Maps vs the restaurant. If you enter the restaurant, it'll take you to this back alley spot that has no through street to get to the restaurant so you have to drive around to find it.PARKING:Street parking only. Luckily we didn't have any problems, but it is off a semi busy street, so I could see this being an issue. No parking in the hotel lot as it's for hotel guests only.Tldr, the space was really nice, food was just okay.

No BUNNY gets as EGG-cited as ya girl over a good brunch, and the new spring brunch menu at Wild Onion Bistro certainly doesn't disappoint. Located in the beautiful new Hotel Citrine, Wild Onion Bistro offers incredibly decadent and carefully crafted dishes inspired by the earthy, farm-to-table elements of California cuisine and seasonal spring produce, as well as an impressive selection of handcrafted cocktails. Here's what I tried:American wagyu burger: crispy Nueskes smoked bacon, avocado, smoked Gouda, roasted garlic aioli and an over easy egg topped on a juicy grilled wagyu patty. I loved how deeply flavorful the wagyu was, and the perfectly crispy fries made this my favorite dish!Niçoise salad: seared Skuna bay salmon, tender potatoes, soft boiled egg, haricot verts, capers, Niçoise olives, rocket greens, and tomatoes drizzled with a Dijon + tarragon vinaigrette. Absolutely loved this traditional French salad and the zesty, slightly spicy flavor of the vinaigrette, although I would recommend requesting to remove the sardines if you want a slightly less fishy salad. wild onion benedict: seasonal grilled vegetables, poached egg, crispy artichokes, and Gruyère sauce atop a seeded country loaf, with your choice of sea salt potatoes (highly recommended) or a simple salad. The eggs and potatoes were so perfectly cooked and so tender, and I loved how the bread wasn't too tough! I had such a wonderful time brunching and munching on this feast, and I would highly recommend if you're looking for a beautiful and lowkey brunch joint with an incredible ambience!

This restaurant is located inside Hotel Citrine. The food was excellent as we sampled most of the items on the menu. Starting with the mussels. For entrees, all of us (party of 4) had salmon, Steak Frites, and Lamb Chops. The waiter was excellent. He served one other table.I felt sorry for the waiter and the bartender as they couldn't do much. Perhaps a lot better during the week.Reasonable prices particularly for a hotel.

Good service. Sub-par food. Dishonest advertising, posting pictures of food on Yelp that are nowhere close to what they actually serve.
