Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't busy. We ordered at the counter and sat down. We got the Virasat lunch special of any 2 entrees, naan, and rice for $18 (additional fees for goat, lamb, or chicken curries) and a butter chicken curry with garlic naan. The food came out in less than 10 minutes and was hot. The butter chicken was so creamy and fresh and there was a decent amount of chicken in it. The dal makhani wasn't too thick for lentil soup and the spices made it taste even better. The naan was delicious as well, though I wish they gave 6 pieces instead of 4. The server also gave us a free gulab jamun for dessert which was really nice! We'll definitely be back :)

We hadn't heard of Virasat but took a chance to try a new place. We were impressed with their Gobi Manchurian, chicken 65 and butter chicken. We had them cater a party and the guests were raving about the food. Nav helped us curate the menu. The Dahi Bhalla was exceptionally good! Kudos to Nav and his team! Keep it up team - we'll be coming back for more!

I recently visited Virasat Indian Cuisine for my anniversary, and it was a wonderful experience. The restaurant is small but charming, with cozy interiors. Despite being a weekday, it was nearly full, which speaks to the quality of the food. The Paneer tikka was perfectly soft and flavorful, while the Bhindi masala, Navratan korma and Shahi paneer were all deliciously rich. The bread basket, featuring butter naan, garlic naan, and laccha paratha, was fantastic, but not personal favorite was the bullet naan, which had a nice spicy kick from fresh green chilis. The staff were incredibly attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed, even as they were close to closing time. For dessert, the Gulab Jamun with ice cream was the perfect sweet ending.I made the reservation via Yelp messages, and the response was prompt and helpful. Parking is available nearby. Overall, I highly recommend Virasat for anyone craving great Indian food in a cozy, welcoming setting.

This was such a cute date night place with good food and reasonable prices! We came in early Saturday night for dinner, no trouble with parking whatsoevery. We grabbed a menu and sat ourselves. Once you have made up your mind, you do go back up to the counter, order and pay first. The restaurant was small but had nice mood lighting. There was a couple of larger parties (5-6 people) that made it a little louder than your average date night place, but it was not a problem for us. We ordered: goat curry (medium spice), paneer bhurji (medium spice), garlic naan, rice, and a mango lassi. We made sure to ask about the spice levels before deciding. We wanted a good kick, but still be able to taste the food, and they recommended we order medium spice. It was spot on. The goat curry was very flavorful and very tender. The naan had a nice chewiness to it and delicious as well. The paneer bhurji was something we have not tried before and was hubby's favorite. It's a vegetable stirfry scramble of paneer cheese with finely diced onions and peas, and seasoned with curry spice. Yum yum, and good protein source too! The mango lassi was delightfully mango-y with a hint of tart. The portion sizes were not huge, but just enough for two people. This worked for us since we didn't intend to bring home leftovers.

We are finally at a place in the timeline where a small restaurent can open in Hayward or Union City and immediately pick up business, due to the sheer population we now have here. I think that's a wonderful thing. It also helps if said business served delish food!Tonight I was craving indo-Chinese as one from Mumbai is prone to, from time to time. And we were too lazy to drive to Fremont so we decided to try this place. Virasat, meaning legacy, has so many things right. The location, so accessible, the space, so clean and visually appealing, the flavors and portions, tantalizing and hearty. The service quick and respectful. The food, we ordered:Veg Hakka noodles, we asked for mild but felt like there were a lot of different spices. Chilli chicken , juicy and tender chicken in a very spice heavy preparation.Again, there were a lot of diff spices but that doesn't mean the dishes were hot, just that they had very complex flavor profiles. The chicken biryani: absolutely delish, needs no further description . Served with a bomb yogurt sauce (raita)Mango lassi, better than most I've had at Indian restaurants. So if I have to be completely honest, the indo chinese didn't come close to the style and preparation I'm used to being from Mumbai, India, but if I set that expectation aside, then everything we ate here was flavorful, tasty and delightful.I feel like I need to go back and try the North Indian staples like butter chicken and saag paneer with naan,to get a gauge of how they do on that front. They have beautiful little accents such as the salt and pepper shakers and the water mugs. The interior aesthetic is so pleasing to the eye, and the restroom is clean and very well appointed.Service by Ram was friendly and efficient, and the prices are pocket friendly.

The restaurant was clean and seating/tables seemed new. There were oily spots on the seats of one chair I almost sat in. And, the attitude and service I experienced was not great. It seemed like they were not happy about me ordering takeout away, them saying it would be 20 minutes, and then when I sat down at a table to wait. The veggie pakora was very tasty. The seekh kebab was not cooked well...not grilled long enough and it was an odd sourness I have not experienced before. They appear to run out of stuff, too. I wanted fish pakora but there was none. I also should mention that I ordered lamb seekh Kababs but got undercooked chicken kebab, as they may have thought I would have no idea what the difference is, even though I did use Hindi. And, I ordered chili chicken extra spicy and what I got was not even 'mild' sour chicken...sort of an Indian sweet and sour chicken. We may go back, but I hope their service and attitude improve as it was not what i expected and was a disappointment. Sadly it seemed like there was some pakshapaat happening...If I go back I will open everything first. For example, why put the pakora in a paper bag that is immediately greasy and did not keep it fresh for a car ride? For the cost I really expected better food, and especially service.

I found virasat through yelp and what a find it was as! I really enjoyed the food the portions were a little small for the price but we live in the bay so I get it. The food was super flavorful. We had the samosas - very good and the sauce that came with them was really good! Butter chicken was solid. I tried the aloo gobi for the very first time and I really liked it! And also the palak paneer was very similar to creamy spinach with some extra spices and of course the paneer which was very rich and tasty! I highly recommend! It seemed like a small family owned business too and several people came to check on us after we ordered at the counter! Also the restaurant wasn't super large but had very nice decor!

Dined here a few weeks ago and had an amazing experience. The restaurant is small, but the interior is tastefully designed. Love the wallpaper. Parking was easy to find. We were welcomed with seating and you order at the counter. The food tasted very amazing and fresh! We ordered spicy and for once it was actually Indian spicy. We ordered daal makhani, butter chicken, garlic naan, and raita. Everything was delicious. Only a small complaint that the raita was more watery. I wish it was a little thicker but still good. For dessert we got the gulab jamun with ice cream. The gulab jamun is hotttt and the cold ice cream is just the perfect combo! We were able to have a small chat with the son/part owner. He was super nice and down to earth. Really nice seeing a young Indian entrepreneur running his business with his family. Also loved the music that was playing while we were there. We will definitely we back!
