Pros: Good, homestyle food. Value prices to match. Super friendly lady, fast service. Sambar was very good. No line to get in. Quiet. Cons: Homestyle food. Not quite restaurant quality. One chutney was ice cold out of the fridge and the dosa was on the way to being burnt. No line to get in. Quiet. My favorite South Indian restaurant is down the street. Awesome food, but loud, long lines. So I came to Ugadi. I would definitely go here again. It's a mom and pop shop and it is comfortable to eat here. Plus, there's a great bakery next door for dessert

Sorry to say, but this will be the only Indian restaurant we will never visit again.Rice quality was bad.Okra was bad.Chutney was kept in fridge and served. The rava dosay was rough and thick. We were the only people in the restaurant the whole time, no wonder.

Impromptu lunch. Wasn't hungry but got dragged into it. Empty restaurant on a Friday afternoon. Filthy restrooms. No paper towels, in need of some really deep cleaning. Food was okay, nothing amazing. Will I come back : Not sure. Management : please pay attention to the restroom. This is not good.

I wouldn't recommend this place for Indian food ! We ordered rava dosa and masala dosa ! They took almost 20 mins and more to serve and there were hardly 2 other families at that hour , apart from us . The lady who took my order came back after 15 mins asking if I needed rava masala or plain? Like seriously ? And also heard them argue about my order inside the kitchen ! Yes " that loud " And after all that wait we get a dry undercooked rava dosa which turned like papad brittle after 2 mins ! I wouldn't go back here

The food is good. The prices are great. ( 2 unlimited Thalis for $26)Service is fast and friendly.First things first, the food. The thali came with Bhindi Kurkure, Fry, Chole, Saag, Dal, Sambar, Rasam, Chutney, Lemon rice, Yogurt, and the star of the show 2 hot, freshly made pooris. The food is on the tart side and I really loved it. It's just very simple vegetarian food. Of course, the simplicity didn't stop me from pigging out.I was a bit taken aback when the total came out to $26 for the two thalis and they didn't even give me a chance to tip them. This makes it the most reasonably priced place. The only thing negative about the place is that it needs a deep cleaning. They got the tough part, the food, right... a deep cleaning of the place will fix everything wrong( ...and that's very little) with the place.

I had high expectations from this place ,I love South Indian dosa and thali both .me and my husband decided to get 2 thali !1 with dosa idli and sweet and the other one which comes with rice ,roti and curries ,both the thalis were terrible ,cold food which felt like its a left over and sweet was sheera (halwa ) that was dried and sambar was nothing but just tangy .after ever bite of dosa I wanted water .my worst experience ever I'll never visit this place . I wanted to complain about the food to the staff but there was this old lady who was serving us and I did not feel like bothering her ,but I did ask her about sambar she said I don't know chefs knows it. Me and my husband did not eat packed everything and just left .

Wow, I've really never had thalis before and came here because I saw great Yelp reviews and I wasn't disappointed! I came here at around 8 pm on a Wednesday night and didn't have to wait at all and was seated in a group of 7 at a nice table in the back. Food: I got the first thali option with the unlimited option. It was actually a huge amount of food and I basically didn't need to get second helpings. I loved that they gave us roti to dip all of the sauces and food in and it was really a good amount of food! I was terribly full afterwards but super super happy. I haven't had much Southern Indian food before so it added to the experience and I really did like the way that it was so family style.Service: There's not many people helping out in the restaurant but they came by fairly often to check in on us and make sure that we had all of the food and that we got second helpings. Ambiance: Super casual and kind of run down venue, but it feels very homey and very kitchen-esque. Overall loved the unique food experience and would come again! Super cheap and affordable too.

I catered from Ugadi for my party (punugulu and other snack items) and portions were extremely generous, reasonably priced and delicious. I asked about chai for my party and they immediately offered to provide a large thermos full at a very reasonable charge. I had ordered 13 cups of chai but they ended up giving me the tall standing thermos with a faucet which accommodated over 30 cups of chai (charging only for what I ordered). I appreciated their generosity and promptness with my order. The manager went out of his way to coordinate with me to make sure I had everything I needed for my party and then some. For example, they provided a huge container of sugar on the side for chai as well (I didn't really need it because I had sugar at home, but appreciated the thought and thoroughness). Took me a couple months to run through this sugar at home since we don't usually take sugar with tea or coffee! This is a family-run eatery and I come here often for their Ugadi special bhojanam, but this was my first time catering from them and I was very happy with the experience.

I came here on a Saturday around 11:30 for an early lunch. I ordered the Thali - I simply loved it. The variety of food was staggering - ridge gourds curry, plantain curry etc were new to me in a thaali. Other restaurants typically offer the same fare - carrot/beans, aloo etcContents of Thali- rice, choice of Poori/chappathi, dal (yum!), ridgeourd curry, plantain curry, sambhar, rasam (refreshing!), 2 types of pakoda and frymes. Helps that it was unlimited. The food was also not too spicy and most of it can be served to a baby. The restaurant ambience was also nice. Love the paintings and clean space. The wait staff were also so pleasing and nice and served every item with a smile.I really loved this place and cannot recommend it enough
