Was pleasantly surprised by this place. My partner and I recently moved to the area from Los Angeles so we've been in search of a casual place that we can pop in on a weekday night. Food was a 5/5! We got the gyudon and yuzu 1/2 hamachi and 1/2 salmon. The gyudon was tender and flavorful with various textures. The poke bowl was fresh and well seasoned.Service was also a 5/5! We met one of the owners Quan, he was the best.Ambiance is also a 5/5! Very clean and casual spot. Highly recommend if you're looking for a light meal. Would also be a great spot for a casual date night!

I love tuna kahuna! Definitely some of the highest quality poke I've had in the Bay Area. It's expensive for sure, but always feels worth it. The sauces aren't ultra creamy or salty and the fish is EXTREMELY fresh.I always make my own with their house tuna and ahi. They also have some high quality toppings like cured egg yolk and ikura. If you want something off their signature menu, the ginger scallion bowl is a hit.The restaurant is cute inside and perfect for a casual weekday dinner with friends! The portions are also massive and a challenge to finish.

Every time I visit the Bay Area from SoCal, Tuna Kahuna is a must visit. This restaurant is a top 3 restaurant of all time for me, and if I lived nearby I'd go broke. The owner, Clarence, is also a great guy who really cares about giving customers the best experience, both with food and service. Their poke bowls next level, with the yuzu salmon one being my favorite. Their chef's table menu is also really amazing! Pictured is the scallop foie gras (top 5 bites of all time). Basically everything is amazing and I cannot recommend Tuna Kahuna enough.

Came here for our Valentine's Day dinner and had an amazing time! We made reservations for counter seating for their chefs table menu and everything we ordered was delicious. Keep in mind the chefs table menu is only available Friday's and Saturday's. We have had it a couple times and always get the kahuna surfboard. This time in addition to the surfboard we had the amaebi crudo, bluefin sashimi, and wagyu steak and foie jus (sauce is really yummy for this dish). We also shared a bottle of sake and had some great conversations with the friendly owner and staff, which was the cherry on top making this a 5 star experience! Overall, really good food, fresh fish with a lively and fun atmosphere. Thanks Clarence, Cuong, and Doug for an unforgettable night!

Fresh food served at a no-frills location in Burlingame downtown! Stopped for a very quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Food came out within 5 minutes and tasted great! They used quality sushi rice -- which you can tell from the texture and size of each grain. Prices were very fair and the portion size was well worth it. Will come back again for lunch the next time I am in Burlingame downtown.

I am absolutely in love with this place. I happened to be in the area and thought I'd grab a poke bowl as a snack to share. We tried the Yuzu Hamachi bowl and had half hamachi and half salmon. Bowl is very fresh and they quantity is perfect. Price was reasonable for the quallity and it came with sesame seeds, onions, cilantro and topped with a yuzu truffle sauce.

My favorite spot for poke! I ordered the spicy chili garlic tuna and my boyfriend ordered the tuna shiso wasabi. Both were delicious! The staff were also super friendly and patient. I would recommend ordering takeout instead of dining in because it's a small space. But they do have a few seating options. Not ideal for large parties. But I would highly recommend giving their poke a try!

Chef's table is the way to go! Make a reservation and give this place a try! Surf board is a MUST. Definitely shareable for 3 if you're going to order more dishes. The uni butter is sooo good. Usually places gives you crostinis, but it's too crispy. Here, it is the perfect toasted with the soft inside. The scallops. Oh my goodness. Sooooo buttery and melt in your mouth. If you like scallops, this is the place to get it. But it might make other places look bad. The shima was so refreshing. The lemon makes it so fresh. It's different flavor than other fish I've had The miso soup is so flavorful. It's a mix of egg drop soup and miso. It's makes you feel warm and gives you more substance. You can't go wrong with the spicy or regular Okay. I know I'm hyping everything up. But the A5 wagyu. Also soo buttery and melt in your mouth. & topped with uni. I'm drooling. They give a huge serving too! The blue fin toro, with fresh wasabi. You won't regret it. They give good serving of fish and uni. The seafood and the meat, is made to melt in your mouth and it's amazing. If you wanted to save money or cut back a little bit, I could pass on the shima. But everything I would highly recommend because it was unique, flavorful and fresh If you want a date night with a casual setting with great service and company. Come here and try the chef's table. Make sure to make a reservation cause this place fills up quick! Sit at the bar if you was a more personalized experience because they make you feel so welcomed.

Tuna Kahuna is my favorite lunch spot in Burlingame. The owners truly care and are often in the kitchen themselves. Fresh fish, excellent sauces and marinades, and a wide variety of toppings. Their signature bowls are the way to go, as each is thoughtfully composed with ingredients that complement each other. Their new ginger scallion bowl is my current fave. The salmon lover bowl another go-to. Casual ambiance with indoor and outdoor seating. I have yet to try their special weekend meals, which is a more elevated dining experience. Another bonus: they have a rewards program which is earns you discounts over time. I'll be back!
