Four of us went here over the weekend to celebrate Tết in the plaza. We were tired so we decided to stop here and grab coffee per recommendation by our friend.I tried their coconut coffee and I actually really liked it! I did think though it was going to be like coconut milk with cafe sua da, but it was just a coconut whip. Wasn't what I had in mind, but it was fine! I'll try their normal cafe sua da next time. We also got their pandan waffles (which will take quite a while if you order it) and they were delicious!I love the look and feel of this place, very elegant and nice to be in.I do recommend this place and would come back again!

Trung Nguyen Legend is another coffee shop catering to more delicate and arguably refined palates. They're located in the largest plaza off Story Rd in South San Jose. Parking can be troublesome on weekends and based on my regular visits here, there are more small shops being leased out, so parking will likely worsen through 2025.As for their products, I have been here twice and tried out their Salted Cream Coffee and Egg Coffee, 2 of their more popular menu items. Both were rich and robust. Is it worth the price of admission? Arguably not. There are other options in this same plaza that I could argue is a better use of your hard earned dollars. As background, I'm a literal coffee fanatic so I would like to think my opinion on coffee drinks has some credibility.Service is pretty pedestrian. Nothing stood out in the 2 visits I've paid them. Seating is more plentiful on the outside patio(covered).

My latest obsession, addiction and fuel. Trung Nguyen Legend is a very upscale feeling cafe which such a quality tasting product. The store itself has a very serene feel to it. I can totally see myself having people meet me up here. Sometime in the future I'd like to get the drip coffee service they provide.Half a star for the product knowledge. The names are confusing, such as "thinking", "creative" and "breakthrough", but there isn't much explanation on the menu, through the staff, nor through the corporate website. Imma buy your drink anyways, but I'd love to know a little more about my purchase.

Trung Nguyen Legend is one of the most popular cafes in Vietnam from Dalat. I went to a location in Saigon but they were out of Cà Phê Trứng that day. After opening a location in Orange County last year, they opened two new locations this July in San Jose in Vietnamtown and at Silvercreek/Capitol Expressway. They specialize in Cà Phê Sua Da (Vietnamese Iced and Hot Coffee) and Cà Phê Trứng (Egg Coffee). Finding a hot Viet egg coffee is difficult, even in San Jose. The location in Vietnamtown has a big outdoor patio and about 10 tables inside with a retail shop for drinkware, coffee bags & phin (Viet dripper) gift sets. It gets very busy during the weekend. I've had some difficulty ordering because their English is limited and the menu is complicated. So double check your receipt to make sure you get your coffee for dine-in, otherwise you might get your expensive coffee in a paper to-go cup. The presentation of their coffee is super nice, as it is served to you on a wooden tray with a description card and translucent paper with a Viet saying, a small glass pitcher of condensed milk, a tall ceramic cup for hot coffee or a glass cup for ice, and a black phin over a glass cup. You also get a small glass pitcher of condensed milk which you can add to your own personal taste. The Cà Phê Sua Da and Trung are both smooth, flavorful and made with good quality. Many people have rated it low due to the price of the drinks. Yes, the most expensive options are $13.95 for the Zen or Ottoman sets and I probably wouldn't order them again now that I've tried them once. They also have added some new menu items such as Pomegranate Tea. But there are much less expensive options such as the Creative Energy set for $7. Prices aside, they now serve some of the best Viet Iced Coffee in the heavily Sua Da-saturated San Jose.

Pleasantly surprised by this place. They have your basic coffee options but also some more special Vietnamese drinks that I have never seen at other cafes. We got the egg coffee and the green tea latte with jelly. Both were very tasty. The egg coffee was initially very strong in terms of coffee (will definitely keep you awake) but overtime the egg balanced out the drink. The green tea latte with jelly was my favorite, it had a hint of floral and a little thicker in texture. I wouldn't compare to a matcha latte. I would definitely recommend trying the green tea latte if you're looking for a refreshing drink. And bonus as they provide free Vietnamese sweet bread on the side with your purchase and it makes the perfect little snack with your drink. They also have a retail corner where they sell all things coffee like coffee beans, instant coffee, etc. I wish they used this space for more tables but there are plenty of outdoor seats but it can be cold in the winter months.

This place looks great. Very Vietnamese with a touch of French. This is my second time trying this place. And let me share my experience:Here is my scoring card for this restaurant:1) Location: ( 4 Point ) - Great location for customer to see and find. Great parking for street parking and back side with parking lot parking.2) Decoration : (3 Point) - They still have the original decoration. Which is new.3) Price: ( 4 point)- The price is not competitive a little bit pricey compare to other same stars and type food they serve. Here is more of experience.4) Quality and Taste : ( 3 point)- The quality is ok, drinks/ food taste is ok and portions are below average . 5) Type of cuisine standard : ( 4 point) - The style of Vietnamese drinks/food they serve is pretty close to the way it was prepare in Vietman . Not bad! But some dishes did have slightly modify to cater the customer's needOverall it's not bad and I thinks it's great to give it a try and let me know what you think. People refer this spot the Starbucks of Vietnam. I stumbled upon Trung Coffee while exploring Vietnam Town. After all, I felt it was a much-needed coffee break during my day since we had a heatwave going on. Service was quick and friendly, with no long wait since I visited on a weekday. I tried their Coconut Coffee, and it did not disappoint. The coffee itself was solid and the coconut milk infusion was noticeable and delightful. I love how it wasn't too nice either. The coconut cream topping was a lovely touch that elevated the drink. They were kind enough to offer complimentary bread snacks to go with our drinks too. It was sugar-sprinkled buttered crostini. Although it was a little dry, there were no complaints because it was free and it wasn't going to steal the spotlight.I would love to try their Avocado Coffee because I know my taste buds are ready to try something new. Also, the condensed milk bar also caught my attention. There's a lot of unique experiences I don't get in many coffee shops. It felt welcoming and interior feels like being transported back in Vietnam. While I wouldn't call this a life-changing coffee experience, I'd definitely return when I'm in the plaza and need a caffeine boost.

I had to come in to try another Viet coffee place that popped up here in the South Bay. Trung Nguyen Legend is has an upscale feel, nice decor and good coffee. The drink prices are on the higher end, but you could really taste the quality of the coffee. I ordered the blended coconut coffee, it came out not tasting much like coconut, but more like condensed milk, but I still liked it. Looking forward to trying their egg coffee next.

Loved my coffee! Cloud like foam on top, coffee was nice and strong. Ambiance on point and loved the concept. Great place to hang out with friends! I guess the main detractor is cost.

3.5*** Cute spot: the decor is simple and there is a retail area to purchase the coffee beans, etc. Went here on Halloween in the evening. Fortunately, I came here during HH because based on the reviews, the pricing is what is a turn-off for other patrons. So, I went at a good time: by 2 get 1 free!! See receipt. I only paid $15.47 for 2 drinks! I get that it is on the higher end for the dine-in experience as far as the pricing is concerned; hence, I recommend going during HH.The egg coffee was good but I prefer another place. It wasn't as strong as I normally like. The lychee green tea was refreshing. Finally, the Thai milk tea was ok... again, I've had better. Service was great. They offered free bread and they were as prompt as can be with the order. Unsure if I'd go back but it was somewhere new to try.
