Swung by last Saturday for the first time for lunch before with my friends before heading over to SFMOMA a few blocks over.Boasting with plenty covered outdoor and indoor seating, and wode selection of items and bomb sauces... Tropisueño is the spot to visit! When you walk-in, their menu is written on the wall to your left and you order in line. Once you pay at the register, they hand you a number on a stand, and you get your pick at seats. I ordered their quesa-birrias along with a 4 pc order of churros and watermelon agua fresca. I paid and was handed my drink. My Quesa-birrias came out within 10 minutes and arrived hot and fresh. My friend ordered chips and salsa for the table to share which came with 3 sauces: red, green and orange. All very tasty. My churros took maybe 20+ minutes to arrive, honestly thought they may have forgotten since they took my # placard when they dropped off my meal. Churros were fresh, a nice bite and overall excellent!Vibes were chill. Pretty empty on a rainy day in SF at 1pm. Music filled the room and it was nice to catch up with friends and good food. Get an order of chips!!

So basically we went today 12/31/2024 for my auntie birthday. I'm gonna keep it short. Don't come for a birthday, they charge you for their birthday cake and it's just bread in lemon tart sauce. Food was cold and we sent it back. Ended up just microwaving it and giving it back to us. Really shouldn't be a 3 start but I'll be nice. The quesadilla was just a taco with cheese. Enchiladas was cold and the sauce you could tell was cold.

Beautiful little spot right across from Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Restaurant is spacious and the service was wonderful. We had a reservation and they were kind enough to hold it when we were stuck in bridge traffic. I appreciate their "inclusive" restroom signs, also spacious and clean inside. My biggest complaint is the lighting, the restaurant was so dim I had to use my phone flashlight to see the menu! Drinks were good, I ordered La Otra Mujer... they went a little heavy on the Anejo for my 2nd one but otherwise good! I ordered the Enchilada de Mariscos... they were just okay. There was a lot of empty real estate inside the tortillas, and the 2 bites of lobster were a bit chewy. However, 2 others in our party ordered the same and had no complaints... a 4th person ordered the stuffed poblano and it looked so good! The 3 salsa appetizer was fabulous and the guacamole was good too (small portion for the price). I would definitely give it another try! It's the perfect stop before a Smuin performance!

If you're in the area, it's a great happy hour deal. My table loved the house margarita and I recommend getting the chips (it's a big bowl for only $3 during happy hour).

The ambience was great, even with a little bit of a crowd it was great. The waiters were very nice and accommodating. My friend's food was a little cold but they instead of heating up the food brought her all new tacos! I got the enchiladas de nopales, and it looks just as good as it tastes! The food was affordable although, if you're not familiar with San Francisco the taxes were a bit much and they only split a check 3 ways so something to think about if you're going in a group

A delicious and reasonable happy hour! The seating was a bit tight for the happy hour tables and unfortunately the other half of the restaurant was shut off to limit the service area. It is also very dark in the interior. Excluding that, the happy hour specials were very tasty and great examples of Mexican bar/finger food.

I came here on a Saturday for lunch with a friend in town. There was a line, but it wasn't too bad. I had the shrimp quesadilla and watermelon margarita. The shrimp quesadilla really hit the spot, so cheesy! Although it was definitely on the greasier side. The watermelon margarita was good, but I didn't really taste the watermelon. It was sour (lime), which I liked, but my friend thought it was too sour for her taste. We sat outside, which was nice because there were heat lamps, until there were also a couple of pigeons that felt a little too comfortable landing near us, and the table next to us (that was occupied with one person). Still a nice place to catch up with friends, however, I'd definitely recommend sitting inside because of the pigeons.

This place is seriously overrated! The food was terrible--way too salty, overly oily, and overpriced. I ordered the ceviche for $11.45, and it came in a tiny bowl with no shrimp, just smelly fish that tasted awful. I came here because of the high reviews, but after seeing the low reviews, I understand why. They even offer a $500 raffle for good reviews, which now makes sense. The customer service was the worst, I didn't even get a fork with my food and had to go get one myself. The suggested tip was 22% on the receipt and 18% on the machine, why tip so high when you're serving yourself? It seems they only serve taqueria-style food at lunch, with the full menu starting at dinner.

The place has a large indoor and outdoor seating. I went in Saturday afternoon for lunch. I had to order food where they gave me a card holder to place in table. The drink I ordered at the register and paid at that time including tip was $30.24. I left 18% tip. It automatically adds 20% unless you remove it or change it. There's 18/20/25% for tipping options. I usually tip 20% for the full restaurant service. This was a half-service to me. This didn't rub well. I believe tipping should be initiated by the customer after food and service. I was given my drink and card holder to sit anywhere. I had luggage and it was a little challenging. The ambiance is beautiful Mexican art, lotería decor. There is a lot of seating. The food was delish. I thought my chile relleno would come with rice and beans but it was a la carte. Don't think it was worth $. It was a nice size and super delish. The flauta de barbacoa was my favorite and worth the price. Not greasy and flavorful, though can get messy. The sandía drink was good too.

This place is definitely overrated. We stopped by for lunch and quickly realized there's no real service here--you order at the counter, pay upfront, then seat yourself. They bring out the food, but you're on your own for water, cutlery, and any other basics. We ordered two choice plates: one with a fish taco and a jackfruit enchilada, and the other with two jackfruit enchiladas. Unfortunately, the fish taco was disappointing--the fish didn't taste fresh, the tortilla was thick and heavy, and everything was bland. The jackfruit enchiladas were a bit better but still lacked flavor.Overall, a pretty mediocre experience and definitely not worth a return visit.
