This is the Fresh Market chain, no idea why it's just called The Market in california. Overpriced, not as good as Whole Food's but noted it's 24hrs so that's cool. My "freshly" made deli sandwich featured dry chicken breast and a baguette so stale my jaw started hurting trying to chew the thing. No reason for me to return here.

A nice store located in a small strip mall with Starbucks Coffee, Orangetheory Fitness, House of Bagels, Shell Gas Station, etc.The small parking lot can get crowded during peak hours. As you walk in the store, you notice their large produce area of locally farmed fruits and vegetables. They have a deli station, butcher area, bakery, nice selection of cheeses, etc.The lady at the deli counter was nice. As she was preparing my sandwich, I just window shopped.I had their Cuban Sandwich before. The Cuban: Sweet Roll, porchetta, smoked ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and yellow mustard. The sandwich was warm and toasty. It was a good meaty sandwich. *Not the pre-packaged one pictured here*

I am a bit confused about the type of customers they are attracting. From my Google search, this place was supposed to have healthy, organic and locally sourced fruits, vegetables and meat. I was a little disappointed that I saw farm raised meat (i.e. salmon). They have more farm raised meat than wild caught or grass-fed meat. Even the sushi that they provide is farm-raised. For the price that they are charging, I really do hope I see a change and see more ethically sourced meat/fish than the farm-raised one.

I love this market right off of 101. The selection of food and fruits are excellent! The meat and cake section is great! But more expensive than other markets in town. I sometimes just go for daily commodities such as sugar, flour or shampoo (but they only have expensive premium sugar... or organic special shampoos) I wish they would also provide more varieties of products.

Back again to rave about the Berries and Cream Cake ! My family has had this cake for someone's birthday 1-2 x per year for many years now. The price has gone up some, but the quality of ingredients, and the size and meticulous detail on this cake makes it more than worth it! We brought it to a restaurant a few months ago and the chef came out to ask where it was from! We gave him and a staff some to try and they -like my entire family- love this cake!

This review is for the bakery department at the market. We needed a custom cake for our daughter's birthday and they hit it out of the park. Everyone enjoyed it and the team was so responsive and easy to work with. Thank you! I highly recommend them for birthday cakes and will be using them again in the future.

I been here 3 different times for the sandwiches and out of the 3, twice they gave me something different from what I ordered. This last order was very terrible. I ordered turkey on wheat bread with lettuce tomato and mayo. All they gave me white bread with turkey, cheese, and pickles which is COMPLETELY different from what I listed on paper! How is that possible when the order is literally on paper?! The quality is good but it's so disappointing when it's inconsistent. whoever is making these sandwiches is causing such an impact I don't even wanna come back here or recommend anyone since they can't get orders right at all.

Catering from Market at EdgewoodWe recently hosted an event and were excited to order food from Market at Edgewood, as we've had positive experiences in the past. This time, we ordered a Grazing Board for 20-25 people and a Mezze Platter. Unfortunately, we were deeply disappointed with the size, price, and quality of the food. The portions were far smaller than expected, and the quality did not justify the cost. We paid $378 for this order, which felt excessive given what we received. To highlight the size issue, we even used a phone for comparison.Based on this experience, I would not recommend their catering services as the price does not match the value provided.

I've been ordering from the catering and bakery departments for several years now and love supporting local businesses. However, the bakery department dropped the ball this time and the initial handling of the issue was awful.I reached out on 9/7 for a cake and cupcake order that was needed for a children's birthday party on 10/20. Maria Elena sent an email requesting further details, including the preferred pick-up time, which I indicated was 11am. At 11:06am the day of the party, I received an email from Maria Elena saying that since I did not make the deposit, the baker did not place the order. I immediately called and the ensuing handling of my call prompted me to write this review.I asked Maria Elena why there was no attempt to contact me prior to the event day to let me know the order would be canceled if no deposit had been made. She said "I emailed you a lot of times". I asked why she didn't call. She said she did, but I didn't answer. Why didn't she leave a voicemail? She said she didn't know if people would listen to voicemails, so her policy was to email if a customer didn't answer the phone. My response was that if email wasn't working, she should have at least tried voicemail. More importantly, I pointed out that the last email I had received from Maria Elena was on 9/18 and it stated "[the cake and mini cupcakes] makes a total of $191.00. You can pay it in person at the market or we can help you by phone". No mention of the deposit. I've received calls from them before about catering orders and their number shows as "The Market at Edgewood," so I call them back regardless of whether they leave a voicemail. There are no calls from the Market at Edgewood in my missed calls log and an entire month passed between our last email interaction and when Maria Elena let me know the order had not been made. What made me particularly angry was that when I said that as a repeat customer over the years, I would have expected some common courtesy like emailing or phoning a few days before the event to offer advance notice that the order was at risk of cancellation, Maria Elena responded in a very condescending tone, "Well then as a repeat customer, you should have known that a deposit was required." This is not someone who should be in a customer facing role. I went out and bought cupcakes from Kara's and was on my way to Whole Foods to grab a pre-made cake when Maria Elena emailed to say they would be able to make the order. I called back and spoke to one of the managers, Gunel, who was understanding and recognized that the fault lay on their end. They produced the cake, comped the (now unneeded) cupcakes and some sparklers and delivered the order to the event at no charge. I did pay full price for the cake (which looked nice and guests complimented).I never had an issue with the prior Bakery Lead. I am very appreciative to Gunel for trying to make this right. It is my understanding that internal protocols weren't followed here, but Maria Elena's rude attitude and complete lack of accountability were really not okay--on top of the fact that despite her claims and ample time, she clearly had made no effort to remind me about a deposit. I've recommended the catering and bakery department to many friends in the past but won't do so in the future based on this experience. Go for the market section, but consider other vendors if it's an important event!
