I loved supporting my friend Niki's fantastic event on building a climate company at The BottleShop, which she highly recommends and it was a wonderful experience. The space felt warm and inviting--even outdoors. Every wine recommendation was uniquely delightful, and the charcuterie and cheese selection was simply incredible. John and his team share a genuine love of community, which shines through in every last detail!Thrilled to have discovered this hidden gem in the heart of Silicon Valley! They cater incredible boards and more, offer both great indoor and outdoor spaces, and create the perfect setting for meetings and events. Am already inspired and planning an impromptu birthday gathering and some other community events here--especially since John and his team are a creative delight to co-create magic with!So happy to have found a wonderful, community-driven, and dog-friendly spot with heated outdoor seating, fantastic wine, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're catching up with friends, meeting colleagues, or planning a special event, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Met my friends at this bottle shop for happy hour. If you're into small, quiet bars where you can enjoy a chill conversation with friends over a glass of wine, this is a great spot. We all had a wonderful time here with excellent service. The owner has a friendly dog who occasionally walks around, spreading good vibes and cheering everyone up--we absolutely loved her!

This little hidden gem is amazing!Stopped by with my family. John treated us to a delicious charcuterie board and paired a delightful light red. We followed up with an amazing sea bass and mushroom pasta dish. Also with exceptionally paired wines provided by John. His knowledge of food and wine as well as his company made for a great evening. Will definitely return!

I only dipped in for a quick glass of wine post-dinner with a friend and it was such a nice vibe! It wasn't too loud where you couldn't hear the other person and it was open till midnight which was perfect. The staff were very friendly and told us to sit anywhere that was open. I ordered a glass of chianti for $15, came out to close to $19 post tip and tax. Not the cheapest but also what I expected going in. I'll be back to try the food sometime!

I stumbled into Bottleshop last month and ran into a very joyful Laotian man named Son. He told me about how he had come from an oyster festival in the middle of the country. He prepared some of the best food and hospitality I have ever experienced. Come experience this great piece of downtown culture for yourself. When the sun goes down and the bar chatter gets loud, this building is a ton of fun. If you're not enjoying the Chef's Nuts, you've missed out

Best wine bar in San Mateo County! If you like wine you need to come and check out this place - great ambiance, great selection of wines (Georgia (the country), France, Germany, New World, Old World). And if you're lucky, ask for John, the in house sommelier and ask him to create a personalized tasting based on your taste profile! My wife and I will definitely be returning.

Love this wine bar!!! Owner John was delightful and very accommodating despite having no power on the afternoon we went. My gf and I sat down for wine and light apps and really really enjoyed the ambiance and bites.I'm doing dairy free right now and got this absolutely delicious charcuterie board with no cheese. Everything was so tasty I ate the whole thing in about 2 minutes. Two meats, mustards, pickled onions and fennel, grapes and this wonderful praline bite with nuts etc. yummmm Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

I do recommend this place for a nicer meal/date out. Great charcuterie and wine place. Got the cheese board for 2-3 folks to share for 2 and the mushroom truffle pasta. Waiter was very sweet in offering a slice of blue cheese for us and a wine sample before we ordered a glass but was not very available the rest of the time. We made a reservation for my friends bday but is doesn't seem like they do special treats for this. There seemed to be 1 main waiter who was very busy! It's a great concept in that the entrees rotate/change each time and it seems a lot of love was put into it.

Came for early Valentine's celebration. Food was beautifully presented and absolutely imaginative. The Valentine's special consisted of a lobster and lump crab bisque with flavor unlike anything you've had before--slight grittiness which leads me to believe that some shell may have been grinded in, I'm not sure. The chaud et froid (hot and cold) forest salad consisted of parsnip purée and "dirt" crumbles made from earthy mushrooms that you could dip the multi-colored carrots into. Beautiful juxtaposition of textures that magically changed its wine pairing from earthy to cucumber and refreshing in flavor. Entree was choice of a "simple" beef Wellington that was simply amazing--perfectly medium ish done steak with flakey, delicious pastry crust. The other entrée was Chilean sea bass on a bed of noodles. Simple to look at, but the mango and tamarind burst of flavors with each bite suggested anything but.Dessert was a series of tiny cakes, all beautifully decorated. Really enjoyed our meal here and plating is just sooo pretty! The wine pairing was lovely and surprisingly affordable. Great place for good food and good wine when you want to celebrate something special!
