Teriyaki City Grill - Pleasanton

Came here Saturday around 5pm (was the only customer) and was really looking forward to having a bowl with their wasabi sauce (it's a fav so I bought a couple extra sauces).However, I wasn't told until after my to-go order was cooked and bagged that they were (somehow) out of wasabi sauce. The employee apologized when she told me, but didn't offer to refund me for the extra sauce I bought. Instead she tried to fix the issue by giving me different sauces that I didn't prefer.So what's frustrating isn't about the sauce prices only being $1-2 extra, but the lack of offering to refund me entirely. As a customer I want to at least be offered a reimbursement for the purchase I didn't receive. (At which point I have no issue declining the offer as long as it was my choice).Also telling me they're out of sauce after my food was cooked and bagged; I came to this eatery solely to have a bowl with the wasabi sauce that I was fond of. I would have come back a different time if I knew they were out/not making it. So hopefully this location is able to have things more organized and upfront next time as the food itself is still quite good.

We really liked the Teriyaki grill in San Lorenzo, but it's too far of a drive for us. We found this place much closer in the trivalley area.That's how we ended up here. Unfortunately, it's not the same. The quality of meat, freshness of food (salad & orange), & the bowl/bento portion are not comparable. The service is also not as friendly, and they didn't have the mango sauce. So, well be back to San Lorenzo on our next cravings.

Friendly service, and good food. I appreciate the healthy options. I had chicken, veggies, and brown rice with a side of grilled tofu. Loved the veggies! The chicken was thigh meat and a little too fatty/greasy for me. Yes, I realize that the darker meat is known to be more flavorful. I just prefer the breast. The tofu was still a bit cold in the middle and not quite firm enough. The sauce though - it was excellent! Just a hint of both sweet and salty. My kids really liked their chicken bowls, and I'd like to give it another try. It was freezing inside the restaurant, so I never took my jacket off. This might be a good spot to chill during the hot Summers of unPleasanton. Angel who took our order was patient, polite, and professional. This makes a difference in a busy Mom's day- Thank You!

Tried this place today.The people who were there were very nice.I checked in on yelp and was able to get the free dumplings.Teriyaki chicken kids bowl with veggies 3.5/5Spicy chicken bowl with veggies and brown rice ?/5I don't know how to rate this since I think I was given the wrong item.It tasted just like the teriyaki chicken in the chicken bowl. No spicy or heat with the chicken and whatsoever.So I'm not going to rate it. We were in a hurry so I didn't want to ask about it.The veggies were good. It's not soggy.The chicken was regular teriyaki chicken. The sauce is a little sweet but chicken cooked well.Dumpling (fried) 4.5/5Flavorful and crispy, a little small but very yummyLion king roll 4/5Very good. I have no issue about it. Everything works well together. The fake crab, salmon, rice, sauce. Yummy.I think the kids size meal is very good for the price. My kid who can eat was happy with the amount. I did add the veggies on it for additional $1.Place is clean and they provide water cup by the drinks dispenser.

It's been several months since I last visited this place. They pretty much updated the menu now. The food is still good here, but they removed the option to where you want veggies or not. I personally don't mind if they do that since they still tastes fresh anyways. The place has been around here for long, but not sure if it will become popular. I honestly do think that bento boxes that come with sushi rolls would be a good idea, but I am still fine with them not adding them. I may need to try their sushi the next time I come to this place.

This place continues to have great service great food and great prices. Even my sister and her family who sometimes can be picky. Love this place! Great for a little quick bite like the gyoza and sushi or a full meal like one of their bowls. The salmon bowl is by far my favorite!

Everything from customer service to the food was amazing thank you!! Not to mention the nice scenery you get around that area!

The picture says it all. Where else can you get this much quality for 13.95? Clean and sanitary premises. Relaxing environment with friendly service. One simply can't go wrong with Teriyaki City. Taste: the meat was tender and the seasoning/sauce was delicious. The salad is fresh, with ripe yet crunchy cucumbers while the tomatoes were bright red yet still snappy.

I picked up a lion king roll and gyoza for lunch rushed back to work, and was so dissatisfied. I've never bought a sushi roll with hard as rock rice that was falling apart and the roll was cold, as if it was sitting for I don't know how long and warmed up. I couldn't eat it, and my stomach hurt thinking about it.

This review is for the Teriyaki City Grill catering service. I was first introduced to Teriyaki City Grill in October, where my friend used their catering service for his child's large party. My family enjoyed the food during the party and kept their contact information in case we wanted to use their services as well. Fast forward to the holidays, I got in contact with the owner, who was away on vacation, but still contacted the manager and set an appointment up for me to meet with him. Marc took the time to meet with me in the restaurant, explain the catering menu, how many people the food items are estimated for and even made helpful recommendations and/or suggestions to the menu items my family had chosen. Although not as big a party as my friends, this was very helpful. The following day, the scheduled order pickup was ready prior to my arrival. Michelle did an excellent job packaging the order, making sure all items were included, made sure we had enough sauces and even offered to help me carry the items to my vehicle. We ordered the chicken & beef ribeye teriyaki meat platter (large), steamed veggies and gyoza. Included with the order, was a large serving of white rice. Lastly, we ordered the "Double the Pleasure" sushi platter. All items were nicely packaged in foil party trays that were easy to carry, load into the car and did not make a mess. If you've ever had boxes spill in your car or in the takeout bag, this level of packaging is appreciated. The sushi platter was displayed beautifully in the plastic container, with the see through top. The chicken/beef ribeye teriyaki was moist, tasty just like at my friends party and the veggies were cooked perfectly (tender but not overcooked). Even the rice was delicious. The sushi was a hit of the party, with the Lion King, California Rolls, Avocado Rolls and Crunchy Rolls. They all got rave reviews by the attendees and the best part to show it, was there were NO leftovers. Quality, quantity, value and great customer service will have us coming back for future parties and also when we are craving Japanese food in the tri-valley area.
