This is San Jose's latest handroll bar, and it does not disappoint! The space is beautifully designed, with immaculate decor that creates a stylish yet welcoming atmosphere. The sushi chefs were incredibly interactive and fun, adding to the lively and energetic vibe of the restaurant. The servers were just as friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed while keeping the experience seamless and enjoyable. The handrolls themselves were fantastic, with a unique twist--the plastic wrapper separating the rice and seaweed kept each bite perfectly crisp and fresh. The toro and scallop handrolls were the absolute standouts--melt-in-your-mouth delicious and packed with flavor. If you're looking for a fun and modern take on handrolls in San Jose, this is the spot to check out!

3.5 rounded up because they had seating available for us Saturday peak dinner hours during Valentine's weekend as we were trying to find a spot after some not so tasty wine tasting. We had looked into 2 other places prior to coming here but one had too long of a wait while the other couldn't open the bottle of wine we had brought with us. We called and were told there were seats available and a few minutes later arrived to a half-empty restaurant. Note: most of their seats at the bar are with the high chairs that while comfy were not the easiest to get in and out of. I also happened to sit right across from the bathroom, so for a portion of the meal my view was of the bathroom mirror. My friends opted for Set 4 while I went with Set 3 and added a special toro roll. We also got an order of chicken karaage and sake. Seems like we were the first customers to bring our own wine as they had to run out to get a wine opener for us and also served our wine in big tea cups. The karaage came out piping hot and was quite tasty. The chefs made our sets and served them to us. The first wrapper I tried to undo was a fail as I pulled way too hard that the seaweed broke. However, once I got the hang of it, the other plastic wrappers came out smoothly. My favorite of Set 3 was the spicy tuna to my surprise since I usually don't enjoy that type of roll. I think it was because it had the most flavor to it. While the other fish tasted just fine, there was no wow factor. I had to follow up about my special toro roll as the chef didn't serve it with the other rolls, but that was quickly taken care of. The special toro roll was deliciously special, but I am unsure if it is worthy of the $24 price tag. When it came time to pay, the way they split the bill with the rolls on the set is confusing as they show each of the rolls and a "discounted" price since it is in a set rather than just listing how much each set was. I think it would have been easier to read if we all got the same set, but since mine was different we did have to do some computing to ensure the bill was right. I think there was a few dollars discrepancy from what they listed and what we added up, but it was too much math to do so we let it be (there was no printed out paper version so we were looking at everything on the payment device). The corkage fee ended up being $25.Temaki Bar is in a neighborhood I rarely frequent, so for that reason I probably would not return. However, I think for others in this area they could give it a try!

Disclaimer: I havent actually been to the restaurant yet. Thus review is based on on experience with ordering their takeout through doordash. The handrolls came nice and neat in a box specifically made to hold the handrolls in place. Each one had the nori individually wrapped in plastic so it didn't get soggy. I really appreciated how clean everything looked and how fresh each handroll tasted. Even the salmon skin handroll was still crunchy. It is pricy ($40-65) but I feel like I got what I paid for.

Temaki Bar was my first hand roll bar experience and I was quite impressed. My boyfriend and I walked in on a Friday night and were seated immediately. The restaurant only has bar seating, which I enjoyed as it enhanced the upscale ambiance. The sleek, black utensils were also a nice touch. The waitress kindly ran through the menu and got us started with iced water. We ordered the following items: - Chicken Karaage- (2) Scallop, Uni, and Caviar spoons ($18 ea.)- Hand Roll Set #2 ($42): includes salmon, spicy tuna, Hokkaido scallop, snow crab, and salmon skin. - Hand Roll Set #3 ($30): includes salmon, spicy tuna, hamachi, and jalapeno cream cheese. It was enjoyable to watch the chefs prepare each dish right in front of us, and they were impressively quick--most of our items were ready within 10 minutes. We were also given an instruction sheet on how to remove the handroll wraps.Everything was delicious and well-portioned. The raw fish was of great quality--I especially enjoyed the salmon and Hokkaido scallops. My boyfriend and I loved the Karaage as well; the chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside. I'd love to see more appetizers or entrées that cater to those with bigger appetites. Prices are also on the steeper end but not bad enough to cross Temaki off the list. Overall, a great experience!

*LOCATION*This little restaurant is SUPER far in the South Bay, nestled in a quiet unassuming plaza right off the freeway. There's several other shops/restaurants in the plaza but we didn't have any trouble finding a parking spot.*WAIT TIME*We visited on a Friday ~7:30pm and it was about half full inside. We didn't have to wait at all for our party of 2. The interior is v open and spacious, with the sushi bar counter creating a square shape in the middle of the room. Everyone sits facing inward and the sushi chefs are in the middle. *FOOD*Hubby and I first started out with a miso soup ($5) and uni spoons ($14 each), then shared set 1 ($22) and set 3 ($42). Hubby's fav was the salmon skin roll and mine was the snow crab roll. Everything was made-to-order and tasted delicious! I liked how each roll's nori was individually wrapped in plastic for optimal freshness and crispiness (we did have some trouble figuring out how to unwrap it in the beginning though LOL). The pickled wasabi is an additional cost but was really good.*SERVICE*All of the waiters were super friendly and checked on us often during the meal. They gave really good recommendations on menu items and also explained that we could sub rolls from the sets if we wanted. *AMBIENCE*It's a chill atmosphere inside with fun music and vibez. I love the wall on the right with all of the alcohol bottles and cool lights. Prices can be $$$ but quality of food seems good. There's also a really cute mini pitbull (Odin?) who is such a good boi and the biggest sweetheart!

Came here with my girlfriend for a nice dinner on a Saturday night and surprisingly it wasn't that busy at. We sat down immediately and saw that the chefs were stationed infront of us to make sure we are provided with the best experience. Truffle scallop carpaccio (2/5): We honestly felt like the flavor was not really quite there. The yuzu was a bit overpowering and felt like it drenched with the scallop. The roe on top only helped the taste just a tad bit. Ikageso karaage (5/5):The portion sizes were huge, more than what we expected at first! The squid was fried to perfection and each piece was super fresh. Set 3-salmon belly hand-roll (5/5)-Hokkaido scallop hand-roll (5/5)-spicy tuna hand roll (5/5)-snow crab hand-roll (5/5) -salmon skin hand-roll (4/5)Each of these rolls were super delicious and fresh, we thought at first the portion size was going to be small but they are relatively filling. Overall, not a bad place if you are craving hand-rolls. The quality and service is wonderful, would recommend anyone to stop by to try this new place out. Plus you get to meet the store's dog, Odin!

First time trying this place and I'm impressed! The restaurant set up is unique with the long bar in the center of it all. We got the salmon, hamachi, toro, scallop, seared wagyu roll, and the salmon truffle appetizer. Food was good but a little pricey. It's a nice place for a date night.

Spacious bar seating and open space restaurant! Love the laid back atmosphere, friendly chefs and servers. The hand rolls were delicious and came out in groups of 3 (during my experience here). The fish was fresh and did not disappoint. I had opted for one of their set hand roll menus and we were able to switch out anything as we liked (you just pay the difference). Parking lot is spacious and shared with the whole plaza.

Got to finally try Temaki bar, after seeing it pop up on my IG from friends trying it out. There aren't many hand roll places in the Bay Area so I was excited to try it out!Located in the Bloom plaza off of Snell and Blossom Hill, Temaki Bar is San Jose's newest hand roll bar. The menu is easy to order from with appetizers, hand roll sets to a la carte options. They also have an extensive drink menu. Ordered the hand roll set #3 and was impressed at the quality of fish. The seaweed's crispness is preserved by the plastic, which was pretty easy to remove prior to eating and ensures a better hand roll experience. You aren't rushed in eating your hand roll quickly once served. Good seaweed should be crisp and it's flavor enhancing the ingredients it's served with. Hand roll set #3 includes Salmon, Spicy Tuna, Hokkaido Scallop, Snow Crab and Salmon Skin. All of the fish was so fresh, tender and textures were perfect. Salmon had great color and clean tasting. The Hokkaido Scallop was succulent and sweet, with 2 scallops and cucumber. Spicy Tuna had a good bit of heat mixed with tobiko, green onion for freshness and sharpness. Snow Crab had a great amount of crab meat, flaked and crab meat laid across the top, briney and sweet. Salmon Skin wasn't excessively oily, the sauce served with it was sweet and savory. The portion of rice was perfect and wrapping each roll was easy, 2 bites per roll works well. They serve regular wasabi and ginger. You can opt for pickled wasabi for an additional $3, which is perfect for sharing between 2 or even 4 people tbh.Service is quickly served and flagging down a server was easy. It wasn't that crowded when we went so service was prompt. There was a miscommunication on one of the orders, but they quickly resolved it.Pricing is on the higher side compared to hand roll places in Southern California, but what isn't? My hand roll set of 5 is priced at $42. However, for the quality and portion of food for the sets it's well worth a try if you're curious and a revisit for me at least. Will be back to try their premium hand rolls!
