Highly recommended my out friends who are regulars here. Came here for lunch and was greeted by the Owner, Tommy. We were given complimentary tea, ordered Fried Tofu for appetizers, White Fungus Salad, Coconut Chicken Soup, Fiery Spicy Catfish, and a side of Coconut Rice for our party of 4. We didn't wait long for our food, we could tell from its aroma that we were in for a treat (food was delicious)! The sweetness of the coconut rice complemented the heat of the Fiery Spicy Catfish. The portion size of the White Fungus Salad and Coconut Chicken soup big enough for all 4 of us to share. The friend tofu was crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. Tommy was very hospitable! He even gave us complimentary ice cream because our friends took us here. Found out that he may be relocating his restaurant soon (by Dec 2025) as the Mercedez Benz dealership beside them would like to expand which means that MB would take over the building space his restaurant is currently occupying. Very clean restaurant, make sure to stop by soon whenever in the Westborough area!

Wonderful veggie lunch. It's true that the best food can be found in strip malls. We had tea salad, egg curry and pumpkin curry. All delicious and well priced.

A lovely couple owns this authentic Burmese restaurant. The restaurant shares a small parking lot with several other businesses. There are also plenty of additional parking spots down the ramp from the restaurant. We were greeted and seated by the friendly owner upon entering the restaurant. They have an extensive menu offering Burmese, Chinese, and Indian cuisine. We ordered the catfish chowder, tea leaf salad, okra egg curry, house special noodles, and jasmine rice. Our food came out in a timely manner. The tea leaf salad had a savory, salty, mildly sour flavors to it. The peanuts added a nice crunch and the chili added a nice kick to it. The catfish chowder had a good amount of yellow split peas and noodles. It was so flavorful that we didn't need to add lime or fish sauce to it. The okra egg curry and the house noodles were very tasty. While we were eating, the kind owner came by and chatted with us. They have been in business for 10 years and the lease will up sometime in April next year. They are looking for a new place to relocate to. The prices are fairly reasonable. They're generous with the portions. They offered excellent service. We will definitely be back to try their garlic noodles and pumpkin curry before they relocate.

Happy Myanmar Cafe is now called Taste of Burma. They changed the name to something easier for the customers to remember and say, and it was shorter as well. It was what the customers preferred. It's a corner restaurant in a plaza, so there isn't a whole lot of traffic. They have been open for about 10 years. It's a very casual space.I had forgotten that I had been here before, but vaguely remembered the experience after reading my old review from over seven years ago. I ordered the Tea Leaf Salad $15.99 as I always do at Burmese restaurants. Their version does come out all mixed together already and I did notice it was missing a little something, as well as some heat. After speaking with who I think is the owner, I learned that they now omit the dried shrimp in this dish. This was a reflection of the many allergy concerns and vegetarian requests. They also do not include any chili peppers in the salad. However, I was able to add a little fish sauce from the condiments available to me. This added the missing umami element. I can see how this restaurant definitely caters to their clientele. The Little Gal ordered the Pumpkin Curry $14.99 and a side of Jasmine Rice $3. She did not want to share this dish and gave me a dirty look when I grabbed a piece of the kabocha squash. What makes this curry different is the lack of coconut milk. As a result, you get a richer taste but less sauce to work with. The Little Guy ordered the Catfish Chowder Soup $14.99. You won't find chunks of fish as it's all been blended together. He ate all of it and the bowl was licked clean. Service was much better this time around. It felt more personal. They were constantly refilling the tea pots and water without us asking. The kids requested we return on our next visit to the area. They had no issues splitting the check with our party of 8.Overall, this experience was a lot better than my initial one.

Taste of Burma is another good Burmese restaurant in Daly City. I came here on a Saturday for lunch and although a couple of tables were occupied, there was no wait for a table. We ended up ordering the samusas, tea leaf salad, coconut chicken soup, and nan gyi dok. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and portions were okay to a bit small. The samusas were crispy and filled with potatoes, onions, and spices that tasted delicious. The order came with 5 pieces for $7.99. This was a great appetizer and was served with their house sauce. The tea leaf salad ($13.99) was good, however, it was not bursting with flavor as some of the other tea leaf salads I've had. The portion wasn't very big as well, but we still enjoyed the tea leaf salad. The coconut chicken soup ($12.99) was creamy and very enjoyable. Nan Gyi Dok ($12.99) is thick rice vermicelli with coconut diced chicken, red onions, cilantro, fried onions, and fried wonton skins. It was also very good, but reminded me of the coconut chicken soup, just without the creamy thick soup. Overall, the experience at Taste of Burma was really good. The staff was friendly, polite, and patient as we took awhile to eat and chat. The restaurant was clean, calm, and small. The bathroom was in good condition as well. The location is in south Daly City, a little closer to South San Francisco, in a small plaza on a hill. There is a small, but crowded parking lot. Taste of Burma is a good choice for Burmese food in this area.

Came here for dinner the other night. The Resturant has lots of colorful led lights all along the walls. It kinda gives off a weird vibe. We ordered the tempura shrimp which was ok but didn't care for the sauce. Pumpkin chicken curry was pretty good but the portions are small for the price. The chicken was a bit overcooked too. The saucy spicy shrimp was just ok. Shrimps were small and string beans were not crunchy. The mango salad was the best dish. Lots of flavor. We also order the mango chicken. It was the worse dish out of all of them. No flavor at all and the chicken was dry and overcooked. Won't be coming back not worth the price for the amount of food. Rather drive to the city for Burma superstar or Mandalay.

I have only ordered take out so can't speak to the service or ambiance, but the food always hits the spot! We are huge fans of Burmese and this is my go to take out place. The food always tastes fresh and flavorful. We order a variety of items and they all are great. My favorite is the tea leaf salad and coconut chicken!

I really wanted to like this restaurant, but I guess it's not for my liking. Please be very clear when you order and ask questions or let the server describe the food.Ordered several dishes and was disappointed. Tea Leaf Salad was not good. I've tasted better at Burma Superstar or Mingalaba. Not flavorful and all, there's something missing in the taste that I couldn't tell what.Paratha with daal was ok but forgettable.Ordered the chicken curry which I thought was the soup one but apparently, I ordered the wrong one. Tried this at home and meh - threw it in the garbage.Their menu had pictures but when asked if one of the dishes had egg on top, I was told that it wasn't included and was only for photo reasons - I don't understand why put pictures of the dishes and it was just for show?Rice is separate order. $75++ excluding tip I won't go back. Didn't like the food but that doesn't mean you won't like it too. Try them and see!

My bf and I decided to try out Burmese food nearby. It was a cold and rainy evening, so tables were open for the taking. This is a hole-in-the-wall with good, homey Burmese food. Looking over the menu, we ordered the rainbow salad, pumpkin curry with chicken, saucy spicy fish, and a noodle dish called Nan Gyi Dok.RAINBOW SALAD ~ Cabbage, rice noodle, egg noodle, cucumber, carrot, cilantro, fried potato, fried tofu, red onion, fried onion on top. Refreshing salad with a zing. Having noodles in my salad is something different. We wanted to try something other than the usual tea leaf salad. I enjoyed it! 4/5PUMPKIN CHICKEN CURRY ~ Pumpkin cooked with house-special curry pastes and chicken. I like the kabocha pumpkin and its smooth texture. The sauce was good, but a bit too oily as you can see it separate to the top. Otherwise, it was good curry. 4/5SAUCY SPICY FISH ~ This tasted like sweet and sour sauce but with a kick! This was good but you need to eat rice with it. (But rice is $3 a bowl!) And we decided to pass on the rice since we already had 2 dishes with noodles. Didn't want to have a carb-filled dinner. 3/5NAN GYI DOK ~ Thick vermicelli mixed with coconut diced chicken sauce, bean powder, red onion, cilantro, fried wonton (wrapper) and fried onions on top. I like how the 2 dishes with noodles don't taste anything alike! This one has a coconut sauce which is more mellow in flavor but still very good. But I think it needed more lime juice to make it shine. And the chips on top looked like shrimp chips but they weren't crispy or crunchy. Sorry to say, but they tasted stale or have been made ahead of time and no longer fresh tasting. Probably better if they were left out. They also added a hard boiled egg that wasn't listed. 3.5/5The owner was clearing tables and chit-chatting with the customers. At the end of our meal, he generously gave us green tea ice cream to complete our dinner. For 4 dishes, it was over $70 with tip. We had leftovers of the pumpkin curry and saucy spicy fish since it was better to eat it with rice. The amount you get isn't a lot of food, but if you're looking for an authentic Burmese meal, this is it!

Passed by Taste of Burma several times, and finally decided to give it a try. Arrived at around noon on Saturday, and there was plenty of parking and several open tables.Quite a few items to choose from. Kinda chilly, so we ordered Burmese milk teas to warm up. To me, no flavor, just sweet. We decided on paratha to start - flaky and good with the coconut chicken dipping sauce. We also ordered the mango salad (tasty, lots of pickled mango), Nan Gyi Dok, and the grilled fish medium spicy (spicy enough for me, had good charcoal flavor but very bony). All the dishes were ok, but nothing in particular stood out and the portions seemed kinda small. As other reviewers noted, prices are not as high as other Burmese restaurants.
