This is my favorite taqueria within a mile of us. It got us through the pandemic and is our go-to when we need a quick meal or want something to eat while watching a game. Their burritos are giant and packed with goodness. I like the asada, and my wife prefers the pollo. When I want to mix it up, I order asada nachos, which are always generous and provide at least two meals. We always order to go, but they have ample seating. The folks are always friendly, and service is quick. We will keep coming back as long as we both are here.

Like a couple other reviewers here, I bumped into this place via Nextdoor and decided to give it a try. I went here on a Saturday afternoon, and the place was pretty empty. I ordered Chile Relleno con Camarones. I didn't dine-in but I loved the decor of the place and will come back here to dine in sometime. The food was very good. Portion was pretty large and lasted me for two meals. There were plenty of shrimp in my chile relleno. Will definitely be back for more.

Our Family's go to taqueria. The burritos and chimi's are so good, chili verde, carne asada, chicken and carnitas, which can be too dry. They give chips but not the good ones. A large Horchata is good for hot days or a bottle of Coca Cola from Mexico. We do take out normally. Usually two ladies running the place and one cook. We call in our order and it's ready in 10 minutes. Our vegetarian friend loves this place.

OH MY GOSH... this was actually recommended through Next Door - and they talked about how they offer menudo ALL day - EVERY day!!So hubby and I had to stop over to get a bowl of menudo for these cold days and I'm SO GLAD we did!! AND while there I found out they also offer Burrito with Chile relleno! My absolute FAV!! Had to get that too!The menudo was plentiful and filling! they offer spices (dried oregano and red pepper flakes), with sliced lemons with chopped onions and cilantro on the side so you can add what you want to the spice and flavor you want!! SO MUCH TRIPE!! tender, delicious tripe!! YUM!!! I'm going to try their Pozole next time! It looked so good - very rustic!! And after reviewing the yelp reviews we went with the corn tortillas - perfect texture to go with the menudo! Their Burrito with Chile relleno was STUFFED and the chile relleno had so much ooey gooey cheese coming out! I may get the salsa on the side next time as my head started to sweat from it being a bit spicy but man it was a good sweat!! LOL....I'm SO EXCITED to find this hidden gem. They are friendly and it's definitely a neighborhood hidden gem!! Can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes! Their breakfast options looks amazing... now to figure out when to go back....

Nothing says, a hug in a bowl like a bowl of menudo. And, if the pata (pig's feet) is still moving, it may even be able to give you a hug.I know, not funny...but I'm not easily grossed out unless I'm watching TLC's My Feet Are Killing Me. Remember to tip your pedicurists well, folks!I was in the South Bay and in need of a bowl of menudo - thank goodness for Yelp. I called Taqueria El Grullo to confirm they had menudo and an outdoor patio, then headed over. I was surprised to see it was completely empty on a Sunday afternoon. Taqueria El Grullo is open for takeout, delivery, indoor dining, and outdoor patio dining. M E N UAll the Mexican staples: Caldo (soups), tacos, burritos, tortas, cena (dinner plates), mariscos (seafood), etc. They have lengua and cabeza so you know it's legit. Beer and wine license. F O O D* Complimentary Chips & SalsaThe chips were massed produced and were on the stale side but hey, they were free. The salsa verde was tangy and the salsa roja low key reminded me of ranchero sauce. * Menudo con pata: Beef tripe soup w/ pig's feet ($14.95): https://bit.ly/3c855F7*** Available everyday!*** Requested no hominy.*** Choice of corn tortillas (handmade) or flour tortillas (commercial). The piping hot bowl of menudo was chockfull of soft, gelatinous tripe. There was so much tripe, you can see them stacked and floating above the broth which is rarely the case. The pata was meltingly soft and unctuous. The guajillo spiced broth was flavorful and mildly spicy. The only negative: some of the tripe tasted a bit off and musty. To doctor up your menudo, it's served with a side of diced onions, cilantro, lemon, dried oregano, and red pepper flakes.Since we ordered two bowls of menudo, we requested half corn tortillas and half flour tortillas. Def recommend the corn tortillas, they're handmade, thick, and pliable. The flour tortillas were just your thin, mass produced variety. S E R V I C EWarm, welcoming, and attentive staff. You can tell this is a family-owned and operated business. We were the only customers so our order promptly arrived in less than 10 minutes. For most of our meal, abuela was singing while sweeping the floor. So cute. A M B I A N C EOld-skool, hole-in-the-wall with indoor seating a side patio. Most of the tables were shaded so it was comfortable in warm 80+ degree weather.P A R K I N GEasy parking in the plaza.Overall, Taqueria El Grullo serves up a pretty solid bowl of menudo that doesn't skimp on the tripe. If you're in the area and/or nursing a hangover, def give this family-owned business a try!

First visit and take out was excellent. Staff behind the counter were so nice. Food was ready pretty quick. I always used to go to Mercado la Torre next door and since they've been replaced I'm so glad this is still here. Ordered some regular chicken burritos and machaca with beans and rice and salad. Portions are huge. Chips and salsa included and I love that salsa they include. Burrito and the arroz and frijoles were great and definitely will be back. I honestly like it better than the new place that opened next door. I miss mercado but Taqueria El Grullo fills that void for me.

My father and grandmother used to come here all the time. food was always somewhat okay but for some reason my grandma really enjoyed this place. One day she got served a caldo that didnt smell too well almost like sour, my dad has worked with food for years so he tasted it & then proceeded to mentioned to staff in a NICE & calm way that they think the caldo might have gone bad. He was not expecting a refund or new food he just wanted to let them know so no one would get sick or in trouble. Instead one of the staff snatched my grandmothers plate and left. My dad paid everything nothing was taken off the tab which again IT WAS NOT EXPECTED. Like i said they genuinely believed the staff wasn't aware of the spoiled caldo and genuinely just wanted to let them know for the restaurants sake. They're such nice people they returned since again they'd been coming to this establishment here & there, when they returned they asked if they had any caldo since thats all my grandma eats .. she's 90 she cant eat much. They were met with a staff member that said that yes they in fact had caldo de res but they would not sell or serve my father or grandmother since last time they complained about it .... what type of people run this place lol anyways im happy they wont return who wants to risk eating spoiled food anyways! They go next door now to Lopez Taqueria & they love it & staff is super nice :)

Ordered a regular lengua burrito (~$11 if I remember correctly). Their food seems to be pretty affordable price considering the inflation. The burrito had a loooot of beans, not a lot of meat, but it definitely fills you up. The red sauce pairs very well with the burrito. The complementary chips were meh, but their green sauce was pretty good too. I thought that the interior design of the restaurant was pretty cute. 3.5 stars rounding up to support local business.

A little hidden gem. Husband suggested El Grullo for lunch as he had it the week before and liked them. I got some al pastor and carne asada tacos. Husband wanted their super burrito. Let me tell you - this $11 burrito was hefty! I didn't expect much from their tacos but they were delicious, especially the al pastor! It was seasoned so well! I honestly can't wait to get some more! Also, complimentary chips and salsa.Friendly staff. Big parking lot.
