We went to Tan Dinh because we saw that they had bo ne, and we wanted to give it a try! The sizzling plate was plenty flavorful, and you got two eggs with a meatball as well. It's exactly how you would want your bo ne to be served, and we weren't disappointed! The servers mostly speak Vietnamese, but they can accommodate you in English as well. Would definitely visit again!

Was a busy Saturday lunch but had to try their Bo Ne' as this is what I liked from Vietnamese food lately. We tried another place and had to compare. This was just opened and offered soft open hours last year. The lady owner was very nice and welcoming. She was also our server. They are located in the Viet Town plaza. This restaurant was packed and we had a small table. We barely were able to fit our food in the table. We had their Bo Ne' and it was pretty good but did not like the meatball. Offered salad with it. You can choose with rice or garlic noodles. I do not like the garlic noodles and did not go with the Bo Ne'. We didn't get to try anything else but maybe next time. [12R, 2025]

Came here with a friend and ordered the bó nè since we'd been craving it for the longest time. A good sizzing plate dish during the cold winter months helped warm us right up! She opted to get the tomato rice while I got the baguette, I'd personally opt for the rice next time since the sweetness and acidity added a nice kick of flavor to the bó nè compared to the baguette, which was rather standard. This is a gym bro's perfect spot, this plate comes with so much protein. The beef is so tender and juicy and the paté was incredibly savory and rich. This plate has so much flavor and texture at an excellent price, especially since the ingredients can be pricy!

My friend was on a mission to find other Bo Ne restaurants in the San Jose area as alternatives to Bo Ne Phu Yen on Tully Road. So this early Sunday morning Tan Dinh fit the bill. On Sundays it is open early which is very nice. Parking early in the morning is an excellent choice as it gets really crowded later in the day. The restaurant itself is fairy simple and clean. The menu is not very large with multiple items but we did come to try the Bo Ne. It did not take too long for our order to arrive but something struck me. The server did not ask as to how I wanted the steak to be cooked. From what I received it looked like it was cooked medium. Everything that was served was very good except for the baguette. There was nothing special about it when compared to the ones served at Phu Yen. Even taking that into consideration, Tan Dinh is a good alternative for Bo Ne.

The perfect addition to the plaza! Bó Nè is SO GOOD and this shop makes it well. Tender beef, very well flavored, and they don't skimp on ingredients. For $1 extra, you can sub the rice for noodles (Nui) and there's also the option to have baguette. The best part for me was the paté. YUUUUM. 10/10 recommend. The meatball was also well made. I wish they gave more than one because it was so tasty.PRO TIP: Try the artichoke juice... pretty sweet.

Newish addition to the plaza is great! We got Bo Ne, Fried chicken with rice, Cha Gio and Goi Cuon, Caphe Sua da. Bo Ne with warm baguette were so comforting - fried eggs, Patte, meatballs were all great. The side salad was perfect pairing to break rich meat, protein rich dish. If you want to explore Viet breakfast - highly recommend this place. Fried chicken is very different compared to southern, korean fried chicken. Chicken was juicy, rice perfectly flavored. A must try. Cha Gio was crispy and had plenty of filling. If you want to explore different types of vietnam foods, this is a must try place.

Great spot for bo ne which is Vietnamese steak and eggs served with a fresh baguette. The bo ne has changed slightly between their soft opening and this month. The first time I had it, the sauce was more flavor packed and umami, and it also included chicken sausages (the Amy Lu breakfast ones from Costco - yes, I know my Costco products well). The second time I had it more recently, it was less umami but still good. I slightly prefer the bo ne in the Lion Plaza Food Court but would still come here if when I have a craving for it. The banh trang tron (rice paper salad) is also a signature item here and is so, so good. I highly recommend it!This place isn't very big so it can get busy and be a little bit of a wait, but the service is pretty good and food comes out relatively quickly. They have expanded their menu quite a lot since they first opened (and have a more formal printed menu now with English translations) so I'm looking forward to trying more dishes in the future!

It's been hard to get a decent Hu Tieu kho in the area. This place has been around for a while and I've been coming a few times. The sauce is more on the sweet side, which I like. Bo ne is also decent. Currently, they have changed their menu to let you choose what type of noodles you want for your soup. Parking can sometimes suck in this plaza so plan accordingly. Service - 4 / Ambiance - 3 / Food - 5 / Price - 4

Glad San Jose's Little Saigon has a hidden gem like Tan Dinh Cafe! The food was extraordinary! We ordered two Bo Ne's, one Hu Tieu Nam Vang, and the Mango Rice Paper Salad. My friends got the Bo Ne's while I got the Hu Tieu Nam Vang and we shared the Mango Rice Paper Salad. The Hu Tieu Nam Vang came with a clear rich bone broth on the side of dry rice noodles with different types of meat. I like to dress up my Hu Tieu Nam Vang usually with spice so having the broth on the side wonderfully complimented the sauciness of my noodles. The Mango Rice Paper Salad was special, instead of the usual rice paper that Is soaked with water to make spring rolls this rice paper was drenched with delicious sauce along with mango shreds and quail eggs. It proved a very savory snack.I didn't get to eat the Bo Ne, but from my friend's perspective, Tan Dinh also made that well. If you're looking for something special, Tan Dinh is the place to eat!
