It's always a joy to get Lupitas tamales. It feels like indulging in a part of San Jose history. Masa is always moist, horchata and agua Fresca are always delicious. Meats inside are super tender and flavorful. The sales people are always the sweetest and so helpful. (I sometimes struggle to speak Spanish to order, and they are always so patient or bring over the person who can Understand English) - so kind!)

I was nearby getting some groceries and saw this cart. My kid loves tamales and was "really really hungry" so it was a great opportunity to try out this cart. The lady running the cart was pretty nice and recommended the pork as it wasn't spicy and having it as a plate so she can put creama and cheese on top (omitted the salsa). For $5, it was a pretty big tamale, though I do miss the days of $2-3 tamales. The masa was moist and pork was full of flavor. No regrets. The kiddo almost ate the whole thing, I really enjoyed the creama and cheese to add a bit of saltiness. They also had a green sauce to add acidity (lime) flavor as well. $4 to go, $5 plate, and an option to have it as a sandwich. They also have alots of drink options.

Yes! Believe the reviews! This sidewalk cart vendor has excellent Sonoran tamales!I ordered two pork tamales on a plate; the plate was actually a takeout shell, and inside the tamales had been removed from their wrappers and a little sauce and cheese (both on request) had been put on it. Also comes with fork and napkin, and they have drinks. There were also cheese/jalapeno tamales that day.The tamales were as good as those from Tamale Factory and close but slightly different in style.

The tamales here are LEGIT! I grew up in SSSJ my whole life so I KNOW how authentic Mexican tamales taste. No where beats the ones sold from the car or carts the moms push around the neighborhoods! This place is so bomb. I know it's in a sketchy area, but judge base on the food and not the location. You just hop out of your car and just go. The cart is located in front of Bank of America so you can't miss it. The person that helped me named Johnny was really sweet, and doesn't speak much English, but he tries his best to communicate with me. I got 5 chicken tamales for $15, and I was lucky enough to wipe out the last 5 tamales around 10:45am. Johnny told me they are they're every day 7 days a week from 6am-12pm.

These tamales are AMAZING, the masa is fluffy and moist, and they are not skimpy with the meat filling. The pork tamales are my favorite. I highly recommend this Tamaleria cart. They are bursting with flavor and bigger than most tamales. They taste like my Grandmother's tamales. This place is the real deal, and authentic! Buen Provecho!!!!

I was grocery shopping at Marina and saw a long line so decided to check it out. I saw a few people get a sandwich and tried that. It was the first time I ever had a tamale torta. It was fantastic. No forks required. The bread was a little crisp on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. The tamale was perfect and they don't skimp on the filling so that is a plus.

We bought 2 dozen tamales this morning for $100.00 that's right! $50.00 doz. Typically we say they are worth the overprice, but today we were disappointed they were the masa was dry and the meat filling was even more dry! We had planned to take to family Easter gathering but now completely disappointed! The business needs to lower their prices or make tamales worth paying charging over market price.

Best tamales I've had! Come early if you want to snag the pork tamales! Each one is $3 or if wrapped in banana leaf it's $4.50.
