The food here is incredibly flavorful, and we especially enjoyed the Goat Biryani--it was simply delicious! The blend of spices and tender meat made it a standout dish. We are grateful for such a fantastic dining experience and can't wait to return. Thank you for the memorable meal!

Are you fvckin serious? The price jump exponentially! It costs over $13 for Samosa Chaat and $18 for Butter Chicken (with tax). No matter how much I love their food, I'm not letting them price gouge me. These prices are way above market rate. What a way to lose customer!

the electrical system was just restored as I entered. was informed 30 minutes needed for the appliances to be warmed up. ordered at counter, paid. sat at 1 of 10ish tables available. watched the Bollywood movie while waiting for the food. only decor was food pics on the walls & the flatscreen...offerings: appetizers, wraps, vegetarian/meat curries, plates, sides, beverages, biryanis, breads.eats: tandoori mix grill (19.99) garlic naan & gravy-salmon was out so got a extra piece of lamb seekh kebob instead.-the 3 pieces of tandoori chicken were bright red, had no distinguishable taste. interior meat was dryish.-the 4 pieces of lamb seekh kebob were moist inside. taste wise didn't have much flavor. the green sauce was savory but the brown one was too sweet.-the gravy was masala, had a wonderful rich taste.-the thin garlic naan was greasy from the ghee, also was yummy.3.5 stars the tandoori mix was off, the naan, chai, and masala was SPOT ON!chai (1.99)-very flavorful, strong chai, skipped the sugar as usualleftovers:-lots of parking in da lot.

This past Saturday, May 4, 2024 I stopped at Taj-e-Chaat in Fremont to pick up some snacks. I bought 2 plates of bhature chhole and one order of aloo tikki chaat. The order was fine till my kids started eating and found a piece of a meat with skin on in chhole. It's really gross to find such an object specially when you are vegetarian. I think it's gross for non-veg eaters also.I called taj-e-chaat and made the lady aware of this incident and she said.... Are you sure it was not a tomato chunk!I said... No lady I know the difference between tomato chunk and meat! All my 3 orders had one common item....chhole! The lady said I can give you the same order with no charge. I refused because the gross feeling cannot be exchanged with another order.I would never ever order anything from #Taj-e-Chaat

This place is a staple, and everyone is very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating! Along with pretty much all their chaats and appetizers (personal favorites are mixed chaat followed by papdi chaat, and the chicken tikka kabob if you eat chicken), their kadhai paneer and garlic naan is excellent, second to basically none in the area, though the quality of the paneer does vary and sometimes its not quite as spicy and flavorful as usual (e.g., creamy and sweet instead of the wok hei kadhai flavor that the dish requires!). Their veg biryani tastes more like a vegetable stir fry tossed together with some minimally seasoned rice (at least as of the last time I ordered it) with not enough spices, so you're probably better off skipping on that and just cooking some plain rice at home. Also ask for the green chutney--it's the perfect green refreshing sour zing to complement anything you get from here! The only other downside with this place is their recent increase in price, which can make it difficult to justify ordering from here quite as often as I would otherwise, as well as the relatively high wait time (often higher than the approximate wait time given). As an aside, there isn't too much space to sit and eat right in the restaurant, so from what I can tell most people (including me) do go with takeout, though from my dine-in experiences I'll tell you the naan retains a bit more of that khasta (crispy outside) restaurant quality from not being wrapped in the aluminum foil if that's what you're into (personally with naan I'm way more into softness and good with either!). For the overall great experiences with the food and the vibes I'd honestly give it 5 stars, but for the inconsistency and the price increase I'll go down to 4. Still one of my favs as always!
