We come here fairly often for the steamed buns. We've gotten the bbq pig another time but it wasn't very meaty so we stick with the buns. My favorites are - red bean, custard, and pork with veggies. I stopped by this week and they had one I've never seen, TARO! I had to try it and glad I did. Very good! Had a smooth texture with a light flavor. You have to come here early or just get lucky to get the buns as they sell out daily. Some days they have some after work and other days they have nothing or only a couple left. The women that work here are also very sweet. A couple of them recognize my husband and I now which makes it even more fun to stop in. You can tell they work very hard and enjoy seeing people come in.

Update: came in Feb 2025Roast pork is AMAZINGGGG! crispy skin, juicy tender pork meat that's very well seasoned! Most places that don't actually season the meat so this was a very welcomed surprise! Craving satisfied, will definitely come back for it!Har gow was ok, not dry and shrimp was okay.Chinese donut is huge I didn't care for the deep fried pork ball. Won't fall for that again.Parking can be tight. The inside of the place of very hole-in-the-wall is but that's part of the charm and I'm all for it.

Another update as it's been a couple years now. Prices for dim items are $4.80 per order which has gone up which again not surprising. Don't go too late in the day as most of the items do fly off the shelves and then you'll have to wait a while for the next batch or settle for something else which isn't too bad cause you may just discover something new. The day we went someone right before us just did a huge order (~$80 worth) so I think that's why there wasn't anything else left. We recently got an order of bbq pork over rice. This time there was broccoli instead of cabbage and the pork wasn't as glazed and crisp which was unusual. This time round it was just ok. It may take a little longer if you're looking for their bbq meats so there's usually a line. If you just want the dim sum go further in to get served faster. There's no seating inside, this is a purely to-go spot. Service is still great and very friendly. You can pay by cash or card (minimum $15).Parking can be a challenge if you're going during peak times as there's a taqueria that's popular a couple doors down so it can be full. We usually can find parking when we go.Overall, it's not a bad spot for quick food and sometimes you just don't have time to wait!

Came here on Thanksgiving for some roast duck! The line was pretty long as there were already 5-6 parties before us when the store hadn't opened yet. When we got to the front, it seemed like the only duck options left were that with less meat on them; however, after we ordered, they brought out a lot more duck. I guess it is all about line timing. The roasted duck was honestly pretty good and turned out to have a lot more meat than anticipated. The fatty bits was delicious with all of its sweet "oil" dripping down the meat. I will say that the meat that wasn't against the bone or the fat/skin was a bit dry but it was still very tasty. I will definitely come back for more roast duck in the future!

I absolutely love visiting Tai Pan for their Chinese BBQ meats, including BBQ pork, roast pork, and roast duck--you won't be disappointed! Their catering service is perfect for work events, accommodating a small groups of 10-50 people. You'll get to try a variety of dishes, including dim sum and sesame balls, which make the perfect dessert. I've also started picking up their frozen homemade shrimp wontons and dumplings. The quality is exceptional and far superior to what you find in the frozen section of Asian supermarkets. Ambiance is casual, to go only spots but is perfect for getting Chinese food to go with limited time for lunch! They are no only quick, great portion and great value and very courteous!

Short Story: A fantastic place for dim sum!Long Story: I came here too many times to count over the years! The service is usually good but be sure to quickly order! They might be impatient if there is a long line :)I have gotten all their types of duck and chicken. In addition I've gotten their fried rice, Mongolian beef, bao, zong zi, broccoli beef, chicken feet, chive dumplings, and much more!Verdict: I'm going back tonight!

This is my favorite spot for to-go dim sum in Fremont! The place is very small, typically the line is out the door on the weekends but it moves pretty fast. When you come up to the display, you tell the servers what you want and they package it for you. My favorites are the siu mai and tofu skin wrapped shrimp, their thin noodles are good too. The steamed/fried dim sum items are FAT, really big pieces. An order comes with 3 pieces. I am only taking 1 star off since it does get a little pricey without you realizing it. I miss the days of cheap dim sum lol. Otherwise, it is definitely worth a stop!

A "hole in the wall" Chinese deli that makes you think you walked into Oakland or San Francisco's Chinatown. Boxes stacked up to the left and Char Siu BBQ pork and soyu chicken hanging in the glass.Don't expect flowers and fancy tables, in fact there are no tables, just a couple of wooden chairs backed up to the boxes in case you have to wait. Volume of food is generous, and prices are higher than they used to be but still relatively good. Pro Tip - Get the Jian Dui fried sesame balls when they're hot out of the fryer. A nice treat at 4 for $1.An unexpected hole in the wall in Fremont to get a massive 3 item combo that will be 2 people easily.

We happened to be in the Fremont area on a Friday morning. I searched on Yelp for a takeout dim sum place, and we came across this place. Therefore, we decided to give this place a try.Service:Let me start with the service, the service was great. I did not expect much from a takeout dim sum places. But the lady that helped us was extremely helpful and friendly, and her service was really quick too. Not to mention, she got my order right, and it was a big order. Kudos to her.Ambiance:There is not much to talk about or review when it comes to the place, just because it was such a tiny store, dedicated probably only for takeout customers. But I liked how the food was all laid out behind the glass window, making it easier for the customers to know the food to select from. Food:To be quite honest with you, I was in a big fan of any of the dim sum from this place. Aesthetically, the food was not pleasing either. For example, their pork siu mai didn't have a good shape; the meat seemed to have spread out during the steaming process. Flavor was just OK. I also tried their seafood dumplings. While it sounded interesting, unfortunately the flavor was just very similar to imitation crab meat. (although I'm sure they used real fish and shrimp). Their shrimp dumplings (har gow) was pretty good but skin to meat ratio was a little bit off (the skin was too thick/too much). I did try their other dumpling, which was made out of pork and cilantro, and this one was pretty good. The meat also held its shape pretty well.Price:$4.80 per order (three items) as of June 2024.

The meat is absolutely incredible! The roast pork, in particular, stands out--it's perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor. Every bite is just packed with richness, and the seasoning is spot on. Definitely a standout dish!
