Best Al pastor tacos I've had in a while. Eating here has absolutely ruined other taco spots for me. The cost, the flavor, and the vibes are excellent. This spot hits every late night street taco craving. Their tortillas are freshly handmade, the meat is perfectly cooked and prepared in front you, and they have a bar with all of the taco fixings you ought to require. Their salsas are also delicious. This is my favorite taco spot in South Bay, and while I sometimes wish they had a sit down location, there's an irreplaceable charm in grabbing street tacos and it just feels right.

El trompo - check!Array of offal - check! My clothes and hair marinating in smoke - check!Owners from SoCal - check!Discreetly located at Walmart's parking lot - check!Tacos Mixe seemed SO promising but unfortunately, we had a completely opposite experience than others. TIP: Call ahead BEFORE visiting!Yelp/Google says they open at 4:30 pm. Arrived at 6:25 pm and they were still prepping so it took 35-40 minutes for our order. M E N UTacos (tortillas hechas a mano), burritos, quesadilla, torta, alambre (chopped protein + veggies), mulita (double tortilla filled w/ meat + cheese). Bottled drinks: soda and water (no agua fresca on the day we visited). Proteins: Al pastor, asada, pollo, chorizo, cabeza, lengua, tripa, and suadero. Self-serve condiment bar: Salsa verde, orange salsa, salsa macha (?), cebollas curtidas (pickled red onions), cucumbers, radish, onions + cilantro, and lemon/lime. Cash or Zelle only. F O O DAll tacos are only $2.50 each and served on a single handmade corn tortilla with a generous amount of meat. Dress your own tacos at the condiment station. * Cabeza: Beef head // 4 Stars: https://tinyurl.com/5aywf7hrMeltingly tender and beefy. * Suadero: Rose meat // 3 StarsTender with some fatty bits. Decent but I prefer some char on it. * Al Pastor // 3 StarsSliced from el trompo and finished on la plancha. Well-spiced but overcooked and dry. No pineapple. * Lengua: Beef tongue // 2.5 StarsNot stewed long enough so it was still tough. It was also unseasoned. * Tripas: Intestines // 2 Stars - Requested extra crunchyUnfortunately, this was a complete miss. Not crunchy, gritty, and hella salty. * Salsa Verde: Very cilantro heavy verging on a chimichurri consistency (looked different than the yelp pic)* Orange salsa - tangy and mildly spicy but super watered down S E R V I C EAll business. It took about 35 minutes for our order since they seemed to be running behind. Overall, great value for tacos with handmade tortillas. Sadly, it seems we went on a very off day with the proteins and salsa needing work. Maybe the ideal time is to come late night?P.S. - I wanted to give them another shot but I've driven by several times after my visit in September and they weren't there on Saturdays around 4:30 pm - 6 pm.

You want this. You need this. Tacos Mixe is incredible!! This was a take a chance on this pop-up in the parking lot, and let's see how this plays out. Trust your instincts. This was probably one of the best decisions of the day. Tacos Mixe gives new meeting to the word street taco since this was a complete taco truck cooking a big parking lot, and people just lining up for their food. I now understand why.Not only do you see the food that is being cooked, but you can smell the deliciousness wafting through the air. We could not decide what to order so of course we had to order as much as we could, because eyes are always bigger than the stomach. The burrito was filled with lots of meat, beans, and rice. I added cheese for an up charge. What I live s that they hand you the burrito open faced, and you add the veggies from the huge assortment of items, including the salsas. The burrito is good, but not great. The beans needed some flavor, and the asada wasn't very juicy. The burrito was around $10.00 which is pretty reasonable. The el pastor tacos are a must $2.50 each charge for cheese 50 cents extra. You want these. The el pastor is DELICIOUS. it's flavorful, juicy, and mmmm, mmm, omg good. You can go over to the toppings bar, and add the veggies ( the pickled onions are really tasty) and salsa of your choice. Choose it all. You can't go wrong. Did I mention that you need these tacos?!? You do!! Best cheap eats around!

Tacos Mixe is officially our new go to taco spot, so happy this place popped up near us. The tortillas are fresh made to order, and so damn good. Like best we've ever had.Our favorite was definitely the suadero ( so juicy and nicely fatty) , but you can't go wrong with any of the meats. It's like a LA taco spot just transplanted to south bay. 2.50 per taco, in this economy? Will be back SOON to try the burritos!

MENU AND FOOD: This taco street vendor cooks up a variety of meats with a self service topping bar. Be aware their business hours may not be accurate.SERVICE AND ATMOSPHERE: Service was quick and efficient. They do not have seating.PARKING: Located in front of the Walmart Neighborhood Market, they have street parking only.IMPRESSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS: We had a selection of their meats, all of which were tasty and well seasoned. The meats are heated to order while the tortillas are also pressed to order. Their tacos are served with one tortilla only and you are able to top off your tacos to your liking! Their pricing at $2.50 per taco is also very reasonable. We'll definitely be back as we now live close by.

Awesome taco / burrito stand. This is one of the best taco stands I've had in SJ, in Cali. Open 4pm - 1am everyday but Tuesday! The prices are great, the service is great, everything is great.

Date of visit: 10/07/2024Verdict: Delicious! Definitely going backHome-made fresh tortillas to go along with a variety of meats like brisket, stomach, tongue, chicken, pork. They can make tacos, burritos, tortas, and quesadillas. They can also make some other options which I can't remember because there was no menu to take a photo of. It's run by a lady who staffs the tortilla/drinks/condiments section and also takes payment, as well as the chef who is the one putting the food together. They accept zelle or cash. Each taco is around 2.50? I didn't ask for the individual prices for the meats but I ordered 6 tacos (2 cabeza, 2 brisket, 2 pork) and it came out to $15. As you can tell from the photos, the ambiance is a la streete. It's straight up in the middle of the sidewalk outside the parking lot of Walmart. There's plenty of parking. They have the condiments bar set up with onions/cilantro, limes, radish, pickled onions, and several different kinds of salsa/sauces. The overall tacos were great from the tortillas to the juicy meats to the condiments. I saw someone getting a burrito which looked HUGE. Of note, they put your food on a paper plate that gets soggy quickly, and their to-go method is simply a foil covering so take note if you want to put your salsa on your food before you take it home. They do have little to go cups for the salsas and the onions etc.
