Tacos Genesis

I'm a fan! You know their food is going to be good when no one speaks english and everything on their menu is on spanish. You know its also good when its packed with Mexican people. Thats when you know its authentic.I think the most important thing in a taco is the meat and how they cook it. Genesis's el pastor and carne is packed with flavor. I love watching them cut the meat off the skewer. You will not be disappointed.

Check out this taco spot located on the east side of San Jose on story rd! They serve some delicious tacos and birria style items! I got the Carne asada and birria tacos! Both were delicious and flavorful! Simple service! Fast and quick!

I got a burrito de asada it was good came with grilled onions on the side, burrito had a nice crunch to it. They take call in orders so came to leave the review so I can leave the picture of the menu since I noticed they didn't have one (: but def recommend

Seem like they open their taco truck along Story Road and Capitol Expressway. (I saw them at 2868 Story Rd) I really love how good the food is here. They are really known for their crispy tripe meat. You have the option to choose between a flour tortilla or a corn tortilla.The last time I was here, I got a free mulita. This time I got free ice cream.Great food, great service, great space!

I came here for the first time during a late Saturday night and I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed the food here. The place wasn't too busy so we didn't wait that long. They had a sauce bar in which you can just serve yourself. My favorite sauce was the bright verde sauce. A couple of their red sauces definitely had that heat. Wished they had orange sauce though. I tried the Al Pastor, Carne Asada and Tripa Crispy Tacos as well as the quesadilla. I recommend getting the tacos with cheese. They put the cheese under the meat so it makes the taco shell more durable and less messy to eat. The limes they provided were juicy and they provide radishes as well. For the quesadilla, they provide both with grilled onions as well. It was my first time trying the tripa and I didn't really enjoy it since it was too chewy for me. The rest of the meats tasted great though.The cashier was very friendly. They accept Zelle and cash here. I will definitely be going to this place again since the food is great and it isn't as crowded as other taco spots.

Solid, consistent taco spot. Asada and birria tacos are good and they rotate different flavors of aguas frescas which all have been tasty.

Decided to give this place a try and ordered the carne asada Super Taco. Had no idea they also offered hand made tortillas if you prefer that instead of the store bought ones. They have the doors open at Boda to eat your food inside along with a salsa station. The taco was mouth watering to say the least. Definitely coming back to try other items on the menu.

Came here for Taco Tuesday. We saw it while driving pass and decided to stop by. It was located in front of Boda, the Chinese restaurant that shut down a while back. Tacos Genesis' bright light warmed up the surroundings of an otherwise scary-looking, vacant building.Our group of five was lucky because the other customers sitting at the table and ordering were so friendly. They helped us out on what to order. The woman in front of us ordered enough food for her entire family, so she carried a huge stack of plates. The guys sitting at the table were giving suggestions as well. The menu is big, easy to read, and there's a lot of variety.We went with the al pastor and the cabeza. They were both delicious! The portions are good.There is a self-serve salsa bar by the cashier's window. All of the sauces were amazing, but be careful when trying the orange sauce. It is SPICY! I have a good spice tolerance but I had to take a breather on this one.With plenty of seating as well as delicious food and sauces, I think this may be one of my favorite food trucks in San Jose.

I've been obsessed over their tripa tacos here. Seriously obsessed. I've been here at least twice a week lately. Make sure to ask for extra crispy. They double wrap the tortilla for each taco but it's not heavy and I don't get sick of it, even after 5 tacos. They open late at 7pm during the weekdays (M-F); so come at 7:15pm if you don't want to wait. I'll be back regularly :) We ordered 18 tripa tacos once and he gifted us two extra crispy cheese tripa tacos; and it changed everything. Put cheese on your tacos; it's amazing.
