Sweet Mex

Me and my wife are one of the first customers to support and our very first thought from 2015 is ...delicious, local, always worth it. Recently moved back to Union City so stay tuned for an updated review!

Delicious food, tasty street snacks, lots of ice cream, whats not to love?! All the mexican goodies are here and the al pastor is top tier. Easy to miss this place but you wont want to! Next time you are having a craving for some mexican snack foods or a tasty taco, this spot is worth the love. They have lots of options so there is something for everyone. Its a small place with only about 4 tables, front door is usually propped open and the location makes for a never ending wind tunnel/draft so wear a jacket or just be prepared.

My go to spot when I'm craving a mangonada! I love the flavor of the ice cream/sorbet they have. They service is always great and quick. The place is a little small so there's not much seating if you have a huge group. This place is definitely a hidden gem on Union City :)

1000000% recommend! I've never had tostilocos, but because of yelp .. I fell in love! I think it's the mixture of ingredients with a touch of spice. I recommend! Mangonada was good, but I can get over it quickly. Service was good. My boyfriend also got a chicken taco, which he said was delicious.

The restaurant has a nice vibe, great service, and a great menu but the food was disappointing. I got a vegetarian huarache which had squash and mushrooms and I was quite excited about the options, however the base of the huarache was so salty. We also got a corn in a cup with Cheetos and that was literally cream cheese and corn with no other flavors. I was really hoping for exciting flavors because the place looks great and there is a lot of variety, but was disappointed. Hopefully they think of adding more flavors by use of salsas or something else.

I went here bc a friend mentioned they had hand made tortillas. As soon as you come in you see the Mexican snack menu and on the side a small food menu. The snacks look great so I ordered their chicharrón preparado con todo. I also ordered their huarache and hand made tortilla taco. Service was ok nothing special but I did notice the snacks are made separate from the food so I got my taco and huarache first but still had to wait for the other side to make my chicharrón preparado. There was nothing really special about any of it. The flavor was bland and nothing really popped to make me want to come back. Taco: the tortilla was flavorless and the meat dry Huarache: was big but nothing special no seasoning Chicharrón: missing salt or something to help bring the flavors. I don't see myself coming back to try any of it to be honest. If I ever want an over priced esquite I may come back but I really doubt it.

This is the most mid esquite i've ever ate. No flavor. There's barely any mayo or cotija cheese. & took 20 minutes.

The Gringa is really good, like make tastebuds want to dance from the flavor. Highly recommend the Gringa. I will definitely be back.

Favorite taco spot in the bay. My favorites are the handmade tortillas and the cheeses they use. Always good quality and a huge variety of options to choose from
