The mugwort bingsoo comes with mugwort powder, red bean, soybean mochi, and condensed milk. I loved the mugwort flavor--if you're never tried it before, it's like matcha but deeper and earthier. I only wish there was more mugwort flavor for all the shaved ice on the bottom. It pairs so well with the red bean, and the mochi on top is so light and chewy. The strawberry cheese bingsoo wasn't very cohesive in my opinion. It was simply shaved ice with strawberry syrup, strawberry slices, and a few cubes of cheesecake scattered about. We shared two bingsoos between four people to celebrate a birthday, but I would say one bingsoo is enough for up to four people. Took a while for our orders to come out. Our cashier seemed newly trained.

Happy that a Sul & Beans opened here as the last time I'd been was in LA's Ktown! Parking can get hard to find in the plaza and the store itself can get pretty busy too, but we went during a slightly off time (6pm for Friday night dessert?) and didn't have any trouble - we watched the place fill up around us afterwards.Sul & Beans is known for its Korean shaved ice options (bingsu) but also features dessert toasts and various drinks on its menu. The menu is pretty extensive with various fruit options (strawberry, mango, etc) , traditional Korean flavors (injeolmi, mugwort...) , and creamy dessert classics (like chocolate!). They have little plastic models of each bingsu so you can visualize what you're getting, including the toppings (often fruit or red bean or mochi). I like that they also seem to change the menu up with new additions and seasonal flavors! When I visited (Jan 2025) I noticed a banana milk bingsu as well as a seasonal green grape flavor. Each bingsu is a bit expensive (~$12-15) but it is a generous and well balanced portion of shaved ice, flavors, and toppings. Our party of 4 was feeling dessert-y so we tried 2, the banana milk and taro flavors. Service was quick although a bit chaotic. Both the banana milk and taro bingsu were not too sweet and did not taste artificial! I like how the ice and flavor (such as taro powder on the taro) are layered - at first I thought it'd just be plain milky ice under the taro powder at the top of the dessert but I was happy to see more taro underneath. No additional condensed milk is really needed for these desserts as the flavor stands for itself. A bit of a splurge but yummy and well done. Definitely will be back when craving another icy, fruity dessert while in the South Bay.

Unsure about the sub-4 average rating, but I'd give them 5/5 for their Injeolmi Combo which contains toast and bingsoo. Waited less than 5 minutes for our order even though there were plenty of other customers. Workers were attentive to us (asked if we were ready to order while we were debating, and gave us more time when we weren't ready) and were very polite. I'm a huge fan of Injeolmi and when I am in Korea, I also get injeolmi bingsoo. I thought the bingsoo here was soft, fluffy, and just enough sweetness and injeolmi throughout my whole bowl. I didn't like the mochi as much as I think it's a little harder than I like my mochi to be, but the crispy almonds and dates (I believe) were a great touch and adds texture. The toast was a pleasant surprise! I liked it a lot - it was crispy on the edges and soft in the middle, had a hint of honey, and almost like a mochi-like center doused with injeolmi. Crispy almonds a plus! Serving the toast cut up makes this super easy to share and eat! I love that they had this as a combo. Just bingsoo would be great, but also having toast along with the bingsoo made our snack even better. This was a perfect dessert for 2 - might be a lot for one person.

I usually never like to give bad reviews, but my experience at sul & beans was subpar. I came in with a group of 4 and we decided to order 2 different bingsoo. When we came in , we were not greeted and were waiting for 10 minutes before someone acknowledged us. They were busy, so I understood, but the employee was a little rude to us when we were ordering and it would have been nice to get an acknowledgement when we came in to let us know to wait. Our bingsoo came out and while they looked super beautiful, it tasted very bland. While I know bingsoo is not always the most flavorful, it tasted like only milk with no sweetness. The strawberries were super tarte which I know they cant control, but maybe adding some more condensed milk would help add sweetness.

There are not many places that offer Early Grey shaved ice, so I was happy to try Sul & Beans. However, I was pretty disappointed. The Earl Grey flavor, while enjoyable, was present only in the first two or three bites. The remaining bowl was pure shaved ice without any flavor (1 star off). Aside from the scant Earl Grey powder on top, there was only a dollop of whipped cream as a topping. Who eats whipped cream with Earl Grey tea or any shave ice? The fun part of Asian shaved ice is the pile of toppings that mingle with sweetened condensed milk and shaved ice. The toppings here were lackluster and sadly one of the worst I have encountered (1 star off). I felt like I got a $14 bowl of ice topped with just a little bit of tea powder (1 star off).I had the Sul & Beans in L.A. and the experience was drastically different.

Yogurt and berry bingsoo: soft, milky, and had decently fresh, ripe fruit despite it being the wrong season for the berries! Would order again!Hot americano: came out looking like water... minimal coffee flavor, felt like it was made with leftover grounds. Went back, asked the server to please make it stronger. Was made stronger, however, many coffee grounds were floating in the drink. Ambiance is pretty loud, seats are hard and wooden, so it's a place that I wouldn't stay too long at. They offer water in the corner, but their cups are microscopic (just a note).

SO GOOD AND REFRESHING!We ordered the Strawberry Cheese Bingsoo and I was shocked at how tasty this dessert was! The one thing that differentiates this shaved ice dessert from other places is the texture of the ice, as it isn't hard or crunchy, but very soft and smooth! The strawberry's were ripe and sweet and they added this nice strawberry syrup that was glazed on top it all. The cheesecake bits were the ideal complement to the dessert as well!We went late night in the middle of the week and it didn't take long at all for our dessert to be ready. I also loved the vibe of the place as it was clean, aesthetic, as well as a great place to hang out with friends to talk and hangout! I will definitely be coming back here again!

I have not found a regular good bingoo place since college...well I wasn't really looking for one...but if Sul & Beans was closer to my neighborhood, I would be going more often. The bingsoo is just so soft and fluffy. I like that this place keeps it simple and doesn't throw in extra heavy toppings like ice cream and cookies and whatnot. It makes for a very light and refreshing dessert. The one gripe people might have is that the portion is small. I could potentially finish one by myself (which may be all talk and no action on my part), but I think sharing between two to three people is perfect. My favorite so far is the fresh mango and that will be very hard to beat honestly. Do they use fresh mango? That's questionable, but if they don't, it doesn't have an artificial taste to it. I also like the injeolmi which reminded me of those grain powder drinks my parents like drinking. It's a fine balance between adding too much and too little injeolmi, and I think this place could add a wee bit more injeolmi, but overall it's pretty good. I'm not a fan of grapes, but if you are, the green grape bingsoo might be a good choice. My bf really likes this one, but he still thinks the mango bingsoo is better for that sweet tartness. They have a lot of different flavors, so I do want to work through them. The place is located in the Vallco parkway plaza, so it's nice to walk around afterwards. The parking lot can get hectic during the day, but they have a parking garage so you won't be circling around too much hopefully. Definitely hit this place up.

Great product and variety on their menu and demand, but incredibly poor layout, acoustics and service. The line goes out the door and this location is consistently packed, which is great and all. The problem is that finding any kind of seating creates a kind of territorial aggression amongst guests who are quickly using hawk eyes and playing dibs for chairs for their party. The acoustics is deafening when it's full, leaving guests to yell over each other and over the music. As for the bingsoo, the portion is consistent and quite generous with their toppings. For this last visit, Strawberry and Black Sesame because my party wanted to go with some classic flavors. So delicious, sweet and refreshing. Fluffy shaved ice that melts in the mouth quickly and a really good snow texture. It took a good minute for the bingsoo to come out and they forget to give cutlery or condensed milk. So make sure to remind them at pick up. The dirty dishes/tray pile up is a bit unsightly as well.
