I am really puzzled by the reviews here and the ratings that go with it."I had a great time!" "This is my go-to place!" And then 4 stars. I sincerely hope some of these folks have bosses who give them glowing reviews and then say "4/5 though".Had a great time here and it was packed. Buddy and I met up for drinks and even though I had dinner, I was tempted by the menu. All the tables looked like they were having a great time as well. Great ambiance for a group or smaller party.

Steins Beer Garden is a solid spot if you're looking for a casual place to grab a drink and a bite--especially if you're bringing your pup along! While the food itself is just okay (nothing mind-blowing, but decent for the price), the outdoor patio is where this place really shines. The Patio - Spacious, shaded, and full of different seating options. It's a great place to relax, especially after a walk around downtown Mountain View. Dog-Friendly - Huge plus for me! It's always nice to have a go-to spot where I can enjoy a drink and snack with my pup by my side. Drinks & Casual Eats - The beer selection is solid, and while the food isn't the best out there, it does the job--especially when paired with the laid-back, friendly atmosphere.Overall, I keep coming back more for the patio and dog-friendly setup than the food itself. That's why I'm really excited about Brindleden, opening in 2025--a membership-based dog park with a safe, well-monitored environment (vaccine & behavior requirements), plus coffee, beer, and food. For now, Steins is a reliable choice when I want to enjoy some outdoor time with my pup.

Came here for their HH but they only offered $2 off from their starters and drinks menu. The chicken nacho complemented well with the drinks. Although their drink was pretty weak. The pesto chicken sandwich was delicious. The ciabatta bread was soft and fresh.

Hard to believe I had not been back to Steins in nearly 2 years. On a rain-soaked Saturday it was a good choice as it has a good selection of beers and it was across the street from a parking structure.A buddy and I were hankering for some beers and after trudging through the rain earlier in the day. We got in a the right time and secured a booth. The plan was to drink for a while before eating. Oh, yeah.We ordered a couple of flights. I had the DF Flight and my buddy had the IF Flight. We complemented it with some fried calamari.Everything was fantastic, I especially like the Erdinger Dunkel (DF) and ordered a pint of it after the Flight. I had Chicken Pesto Sandwich. Sadly, I forgot to snap a picture before I devoured it like I just arrived off of Survivor Island.A tip of the cap to our server Gustavo who made sure we were well attended to.Okay, time for photos....

Came here with a few friends. Drinks were good, but the food was just basic. Some of the things were either to bland or overly salty. My burger was over cooked which made it dry and the bacon was a bit burnt. A bit o er priced too.Service was friendly and attentive and it is a good place to host large groups... but food was just basic.

When I think of German food often I picture it as bland and uninteresting. I have had the chance to try Stein's a few times now.First off - drinks. As a retired drinker, I got their nonalcoholic Weihenstephaner and it comes in a bottle. Compared to when I had the alcoholic version, the taste is basically the same wheaty flavor.Food wise, I recently got their schnitzel from the Oktoberfest event they hosted along with several vendors. Schnitzel was fried to a perfect amber brown and the sauerkraut and spaetzle were delicious. I got the right amount of sour from the cabbage and the spaetzle was cooked al dente and nice and buttery. At another visit, I had fantastic golden brown fried chicken wings, sliders, and one of the best garlic parmesan fries I've ever had. They care a lot about food here so nondrinkers will absolutely have a great time here. Highly recommend a visit!

This was my first time here and I truly LOVED their outdoor patio area with adorable lights streaming across, fireplaces and heat lamps! Great bar-dinning area inside too.Our server was AMAZING! A young college student with an easy-yet unique name like Kaley or something cute like that. She was INCREDIBLY helpful in suggesting cocktails and the spider dessert! We loved the truffle fries and spicy aioli dipping sauce for the large plate of calamari! I would definitely go back and there's also a great open-well lighted parking lot a semi half block away.

Nice ambiance to go with groups with indoor and outdoor seating. Large tables available. Parking can be hard during busy times. The Rainbow Frisee Salad was so good and made with perfect proportions of everything. Service is typically friendly and helpful!

Great place for a casual dinner and drinks. I love the outdoor seating and the ambiance. We went here on a Monday evening, and the place was quite busy. We got the ceviche and carne asada fries to eat and G&T and a beer flight to drink. Our drinks and food were served pretty quick. The fries were really good and pretty large portions, and the ceviche was decent. Service was pretty good; our server was very attentive and kept checking on us frequently.
