Spartan Taco Truck

Best place for late night tacos. One of the few places that are open this late and it happens to be the best tacos. This is a bay area staple and is the taco truck version of their restaurant. Everything great about Spartan Tacos applies to this taco truck. The menu is slight smaller to accommodate the food truck but the tacos, burritos, etc. are still there. It is just the small stuff that is not there. Really quick to order. They only accept cash. There is some seating outside with the fold out tables and fold out chairs. I honestly prefer to just take the food home.

Fire late night taco spot! Have come in the past. Near downtown SJ and a block from SJSU. Hours aren't updated as they started setting up around 8 pm and taking orders closer to 8:30. There's a few spots to park right by the truck, but pretty limited around. I had parked at the restaurant lot across and it was fine. There was a crowd gathered from the start. They have a few tables set up by the truck with canopies and lights you can eat at if you want.We hadn't eaten so we ordered carne asada big crispy tacos, al pastor super soft tacos, and carnitas cali fries. They were all delicious, but the crispy tacos especially. Good meat and generous avocado portions. The cali fries was a big portion and very filling. The orange sauce was pretty good too.Def recommend for late night cravings!

Such a San Jose classic, you can't miss out on this if you're taking your SF/out of state friends to get authentic Mexican food. I'm glad that they accept Venmo here as well, because I never ever have cash on me LOL. This review is from when I took my friend from Texas here for the first time, she'd been wanting to try it for a while. We ordered the three big crispy tacos, three regular tacos, regular horchata, and Cali fries (all with asada). So worth it, they're generous with the meat and don't skimp on the avocado which I love. I do wish that there was more seating offered, but I don't mind eating in the car or in the SJSU dorms!

Sparcos is one of the only reasons I still carry cash with me as they're CASH ONLY!! It's my favorite late night munchie meal after a long day of studying or a night out since they're always open til 2am! They're located right next to a used tire shop and right across their brick and mortar shop. They recently rearranged their truck, so it's a little hidden behind their canopies but it gives people a lot more space to park. If parking is ever scant, you can also just park at their brick and mortar shop and walk to the truck. Since they're one of the few places open hella late, the line is usually pretty long but moves pretty fast. They also have a couple tables and seats if you wanna enjoy your late night meal right away.My go to order is usually the Big Crispy Tacos with either shrimp or Carne Asada and a small peanut butter horchata. I don't think I've ever seen a peanut butter horchata, but there's is super delicious! It has a sweet, nutty taste to it and it tastes similar to Filipino Polvoron. They add hella meat to the tacos and it pairs nicely with their homemade orange sauce, which has a bit of a kick to it. I've recently been getting their Cali Crispy Tacos, which just has fries on it, but it is also equally delicious! Definitely try them out!

Very solid and tasty tacos!! Highly recommend the big crispy tacos so you get a good crunch along with everything on it. It's very similar to a tostada but it was delicious and has me craving more with each bite I took.

Can't believe it took me this long to try Sparcos. It was FANTASTIC. I'm very particular about birria tacos and the ones here really blew me away. So flavorful, juicy, tender, and perfectly cheesy. The consomé is usually not drinkable to me but the one here is hearty and delicious. 10/10! Second on my list for birria tacos. The Super Burrito was so so good as well. We got lengua and it was so soft. Everything melted together with each other and it was just a really good burrito. All the salsas are amazing but orange was best. And the horchata was sooo creamy and addicting. Had to stop myself from chugging it. Service was quick despite the long line. Few tables outside for seating that might not be too clean but does the job. Opened decently late, be sure to bring cash cus they're cash only. I love this spot and hope to be back soon.

Bomb dot com!!!!! Would come back, came here after a drive to the city on the way home to San Jose and these tacos hittttt the spot. 10/10 would come back. Horchata 10/10. Service 10/10, love it here!!

This is literally my favorite taco truck in the South Bay. Started coming to this place when I live in San Jose and still come to this taco truck whenever I crave tacos. My go-to order has been their big crispy tacos with suadero and I add their orange sauce. If you're into a spicier orange sauce then you're going to love Spartan's since it has a kick to it. The food truck only opens after 8:30PM and there can be quite a wait on the weekends, but it's definitely worth it. Secret menu: They have a Strawberry Horchata where they mix their house horchata with strawberry aqua fresca and it's really good!.

I'd drive to San Jose just for these tacos. The taco was really juicy and flavorful. Top it off with their spicy sauce and you'll be good. I got the super soft taco with carne asada. Super yummy. My boyfriend got the super crispy tacos with al pastor. He devoured his.

I came to Spartan Tacos in San Jose & I was expecting my mind to be blown after hearing all about this place but I was a little bit disappointed. I can definitely see why people come here -- it's a nice place to hang out and it really seems like an SJ staple spot. The tacos were yummy but it wasn't mindblowing delicious... if that makes any sense? I feel like I had higher expectations for Spartan tacos. PSA I believe they only take cash, so be prepared! There was a bit of a wait when I went but it didn't take too long. Music is poppin & this is located in downtown SJ so a lot of college students come here. I don't think I'd come back but I give it a 3.2/5 :-)
