A nice fusion restaurant in the mall. We went for lunch and the server was friendly and explained their daily specials and recommendation to us.We ordered crispy imperial rolls, shrimp vermicelli, and their daily specials of uni and caviar on custard egg and lobster noodles. The egg was a delicious small appetizer and the uni were fresh. The lobster noodles was really tasty and noodles was chewy and savory. The imperial rolls was filled with a variety of flavors and eaten with the noodles and lettuce. The shrimp vermicelli also include a few imperial rolls and has a nice flavor. Overall, the food were great but I think the price is on the high end for the small portion.

Never felt so compelled to leave a review. Unfortunately, the prior reviewers are accurate. For the quality, execution, and flavor - this should be priced 50% less or more. Automatic 20% gratuity as well....?! Would happily pay that but def wasn't deserving. Daikon rice cake - $15. This wasn't executed correctly. Was bland, and lacked texture. Go to any other dim sum restaurant. Hue Dumplings - $14 "... ... ..."Imperial Rolls - $16 for 2 chopped up? Mid. Crab Noodles -$34 unfortunately, salty like other reviews. These noodles are easily over seasoned. Clams - $32 way overcooked. The mustard greens are just pickled from a bag you get at 99 ranch. Odd combo tbh. Roasted Duck - $48. Pretty dry. Lacks flavor. "House" hoisin fairly odd. Lamb Rack - $52 bland. Fruit salad outshined it unfortunately. Star of the dinner was the unibrou beer. That said - restaurant was beautiful. +1 for that. Sorry for the harsh review but not coming back. Left fairly disappointed.

Finally got here in-person.Four us had a delish meal and great service. The prices are very high but the food is excellent quality. But my mocktail (Paloma) was $12...they also automatically add a 20% tip which they luckily underlined on the bill otherwise we might not have noticed. The atmosphere is industrial sparse. The weird things were; dessert is not the same theme as the Vietnamese-Asian-fusion, and our table section was such that we had two major corridors of traffic, people walking to their tables, and same when we left walking very close to other diners. I will next time ask for a table by a window for less rush-flow. I will be be back, this is one of the few places that make authentic imperial rolls.Note: they have not updated all prices on the online menu.

My favorite dishes of the night that I don't even know how I finished.Gau Choy Gow (almost ordered 2 but wanted to eat other things)Crispy Imperial RollsChinese Cauliflower (w/ Chinese sausage)Pineapple SpritzerCellophane Crab NoodsClay pot Chicken w/ side jasmine rice Basque Cheesecake with a caramely sauce, pomegranate seeds (trust me; it pairs well together)The only thing I didn't like was pork chop. They cook it medium. A bit rubbery. Next time I'll have them cook it throughOther than that. I had a great night. Always love the ambiance, decor, service, and the whole modern vibe here.

Food is tasty, but the portions are small and overpriced. Slow service and an automatic 20% gratuity that gives no incentive to make the service better.

This modern Vietnamese restaurant offers an interesting twist on classic flavors--not exactly authentic, but creative. It's on the pricier side, but the quality and unique style mostly make up for it. Service was good overall, though the staff could have been a bit friendlier. For drinks, we tried the mixed berry mix, mezcal smash, and Singapore Sling. All three cocktails were great, but the mezcal smash was definitely the standout with its smoky, refreshing twist. We ordered several appetizers: papaya salad, veggie imperial rolls, hue dumplings, banh nam, and Chinese cauliflower. Everything was delicious, but the papaya salad and imperial rolls were the highlights--super refreshing and packed with flavor. For entrées, we had the yuba noodles, lemongrass tofu, and caramelized shrimp. The tofu was decent, the noodles had a nice texture and flavor, and the shrimp had an unexpected French onion soup-like taste. Overall, a good experience for a modern take on Vietnamese cuisine!

I've been to the SF location many years ago when this was the only hip Vietnamese cuisine back in the early 2000s. It was where you'd take your dates. It's where you'd dress to impress. Either the times have changed or I'm just decades older. Maybe a little bit of both.I do remember it being a little upscale, but I was stunned when I saw the $58 shaking beef here. I am sure the filet mignon is of high quality, but north of $50 of anything is not in my wheelhouse. I shared my opinion with our server Brooklyn. She said she's new, but she is so professional and sweet. She's also a doppelgänger of a famous gymnast or an actress turned duchess. If you go there, you'll know what I mean. We had some good laughs with her. Thanks for being a good sport Brooklyn.Today I had a nice healthy lunch here. Everything was delicious. My buddy and I shared all dishes. The crispy imperial roll and fried soft shell crab are both served with lettuce and Vietnamese herbs. Both are deep fried with a lot of flavor on its own. That is why the lettuce and herbs are there to spread the flavors. To eat, you make a bed of lettuce, put some of the fried goodies over herbs, vermicelli and their sweet fish sauce. It's a burst of flavor and freshness. The final dish is the chicken vermicelli. I was a little disappointed that the portion is a bit small. My friend and I devoured every morsel and leaf of our appetizers and main dish. It's that good, but also not that much of the good stuff. We had to keep asking for more lettuce and they didn't seem to charge us so we appreciate that.I don't mind eating high end Vietnamese cuisine and paying a little premium in a nice venue. I would even pay a few dollars more for let's say their Imperial Rolls but give a little more rolls and side veggies. I felt bad asking for more lettuce, but I also understand it would be wasteful if people don't eat them.

It is official that Slanted Door sadly will not be reopening their Ferry Building location where I have spent many special occasions, Valentine's Days and taken out of town guests.Luckily, I am still able to get one of my faves, their Crispy Vegetarian Imperial Roll at their San Ramon City Center location and gave their tuna tartare and gau choy gau, their version of dim sum classic, shrimp and chive dumplings from their HH street snack menu a try. That gau chou gau was good enough to warrant a second order. That left us enough room for lemongrass marinaded pork chop from their dinner menu. Although shaking beef is one of my faves, the last time I had it, there wasn't much beef so couldn't justify paying $58 if the portion size is the same. You don't get the beautiful SF Bay views in this location as it is part of the City Center, but I think it would be fun to return during the holidays when the decorations are up.

WOW. I did not know what to expect when we came on Valentine's Day but I was so blown away. The service was spectacular and we loved our waiter - I wish we got his name! We started with a round of cocktails and the yellowtail starter, and for the entree we did the cellophane noodles, shaking beef, and lamb chop. While everything was delicious, the cellophane noodles were incredible. We were stuffed but I could have done another order of them! We will absolutely be back! Thank you for making our Valentine's Day even more special!

Overall a good experience! Upscale Vietnamese food. Simple modern ambience. Good service. Great location at City Center (free garage parking). It's located on ground floor. We went to lunch here and sat outside. 4/5 stars overall experience 3/5 stars for the Beef Pho: lacking flavor even after I added the jalapeño, basil, and sauces. Lacking flavor compared to countless pho I've had at various restaurants in the past 2 decades. This tasted like it was made for an inexperienced western palate that's is afraid of flavor. It wasn't terrible. It was just ok. The Yellowtail was melt in your mouth and packed with flavor. The Banh Nam was so good, rich, and had nuanced flavor. We LOVED these appetizers! Got the snail green tea. Overpriced at $8 IMO. Not a real snail product. A fine green tea but nothing special.Would go back, would recommend, but personally would not get the beef pho again unless I desperately needed soup.
