TLDR: Good XLB. Large quantity of Onion pancake. Free soup! The only reason we came to this very unassuming restaurant with the generic name in a isolated strip mall is because we just came back from volunteering at the nearby Second Harvest. Be aware, this review might be a bit skewed because we arrived tired and hungry. One thing that cheered us up was the friendliness of the waiter. I'm sure YMMV, but my wife is from HK, and the waiter could tell she was Canto, so even though he's from mainland, he knew Canto. So they hit it off quite well, talking about how we so compassionately packed boxes for the food insecure. That transformed this 4-star place into 5 stars! Hopefully WHEN (not if) we go back, that same guy will still be there so my wife can have a nice chat in her native dialect. The food itself is squarely 4 stars, which is still pretty good. I wouldn't say there were any top 5 or BEST dishes, but all were still delicious and yummy (again, keep in mind we were hungry after depositing HUNDREDS of grapefruit into boxes). I liked their XLB... the skin was thin, and the meat was juicy and loose. We also ordered onion pancake, and only expected like 3 or 4 slices. But, we got what looked like 2 onion pancakes, sliced up. It's not super crunchy, a little doughy in the middle. It's pretty good. Wish there was a bit more onion flavor though. We also ordered the string beans. Eh, they're green and a little spicy. Not my fave, but we gotta get some fiber! Finally my wife ordered a MiFen Noodle soup, because it was a cold day, and we stacked like 17 pallets worth of food boxes. So she needed something warm. She is the expert, and she said it was a good soup. It had a subtle flavor, which she prefers. It appears to be a legit place, like catered towards Chinese. From the outside it seems like it would be an American-Chinese place, but it's not. We would definitely come back here, even IF we weren't packing up over 19,000 lbs of food!Oh, did I forget to mention we volunteered? ;-P

Ate at Si Jie twice in three weeks. the food is so good.Last time we ordered the spicy beef noodle soup, seafood hot pot, and some dumplings. All was excellent. This time we had quite a few orders. My favorites or noodles and the red oil pork wonton. All the food is excellent. You don't taste anything too salty or too oily. Very good flavors. High quality ingredients. The owner is always smiling and making sure the food is good. Excellent service, 10/10.The restaurant is very spacious and I like the lights. They have the yellow lights and it's not too bright. My eyes don't hurt.I'm going to be a regular from here on out. I highly highly highly recommend this place!

Was in the area and saw this newly-opened restaurant so decided to give it a try! I've been to other local restaurants with this name, so I'm not sure if they're all by the same owner.I was impressed by the decor! The place has a fast-food vibe but it actually has some Chinese-looking decorations. The staff is very friendly and fast with taking order and answering questions. Ordering is done via a QR code as is the norm nowadays, took me sometime to go through the menu but they were very patient. They did keep getting my order/table confused with my neighbor though, but they're going through soft opening so I'm sure they'll get better quickly.I ordered a dry noodle dish and a basket of xiaolongbao, and both were delicious! The xiaolongbao has fairly thin skin, compared to Din Tai Fung it's almost as thin but not quite as sturdy, one was already broken when it was served. There is a good amount of broth inside though! I did quite enjoy it. The dry noodle dish is good too, I packed most of it back to eat for dinner.Overall enjoyed my meal! Will come back when I have noodles or bao cravings again!

Noodle express is located in a business area, in Nicholson Plaza off First Street. We arrived around 11:15am on a Saturday and we were the first diners there. The restaurant was small, definitely felt more like a fast lunch establishment but the decor/wall mural was nice.We ordered off a giant iPad that was provided by the waiter.. we appreciated being able to see the dish we wanted to order but it froze..2x. Lol I saw that they offered hotpot and some combo sets too. They gave us complimentary soup while we waited for our dishes. He had 2 options but we picked hot and sour soup. I didn't really hear what the second option was.. lol We ordered.. PORK SOUP PAN FRIED BUNS (6) $13.99 -hot and juicy. Like that's it's not greasy and the bottoms are perfectly crispy. The meat is soft but bland.. 3/5* MINI PAN FRIED BUNS (6) $8.99 -basically a steamed soup dumpling with the bottomed seared. It was juicy and had a nice light crispy bottom but the meat was wateva. 3/5* STEAMED SOUP DUMPLINGS (6) $12.99 + $1 for spicy pork -look very good when it came out. The dumpling skin was good, it was super was soft and it was super juicy but again, very bland. 2.5/5* ONION PANCAKE $8.99 -aka green onion pancake. This came out first. It was hot, not greasy and had a slight crisp. It was a bit fluffy too! I just wished it was more crispy in the middle. 3/5*Our server was very friendly, informative and attentive the whole time we were there. Would we go back?.. probably not.. but I can see why it would be popular during a work lunch. You need options!

This is a decent place to have tasty Chinese dishes. It's located in a strip mall on North San Jose (across from Sam Sung HQ). It's not a large shop, but fair amount of seating areas. Very clean and modern and friendly service!

Quick service, cute interior and very good food. You order at the table via QR code which is very convenient-they also allow you to make some changes there to your dishes which is great. As someone with gluten intolerance it was a treat to be able to change my noodles to rice noodles. The flavor of the broth was deep and well seasoned with a good spice. The Kung pao chicken with noodles was filling and very tasty.

Great customer service . Chef was gracious enough to give us a sample of her new dumplings to try . Hopefully it will be added to the menu . XLB is super soupy, pan fried pork dumplings were soupy as well. Spiced beef noodle was flavorful although noodles were over cooked. They had a great side condiment that was a garlic bean sauce that complimented it well. The coconut egg custard buns weren't too sweet and had a nice runny salted egg custard yolk much like the dim sum style lava bun. Bathroom is updated and clean enough . Had a modern ambiance .

Last Sunday, we visited this newly opened restaurant for dinner. The decor truly embodies a Chinese style, and they offer delicious Chinese wheaten items and mini hotpot. The items we ordered: The Pan-Fried Buns is the signature dish here, with a crispy bottom, soft dough, and juicy filling--absolutely delicious! The Chive Pockets, though small, have a thin crust packed with flavorful filling inside. The mini hotpot is a simplified version of Cupertino Stone Pot; the seafood hotpot's shrimps are fresh and they use sticky corn that's incredibly tasty! The Cumin Beef and Eggplant with Green Beans dishes we ordered with less oil and salt, and they still tasted great without being too greasy.Their menu also features two and three-item bento sets, which seem perfect for a quick lunch for nearby office workers. Great food and friendly staff, highly recommended!
