I ordered the Ssam Bab and it was beautifully presented with so many vegetables, side dishes, and two soybean paste stews. The meat was really tender and served on hot plates and the soybean paste stew was rich and flavorful. The staff is friendly and will teach you how to eat it. Each bite was packed with so many different flavors. I would definitely recommend coming here.

We have been to this place for many years, because of its unlimited tasty side dishes, and delicious meals. however, since the start of COVID in 2020, things are changed, no more free pick side dishes, and the meals are much pricey. Do not think we will be back again.

I've been to Shu's a couple of times since it's a nice mom and pop restaurant that serves solid Korean food at affordable prices, especially their galbi. However, don't expect good service. I took a friend who came for the first time and within the first 5-10 minutes of us sitting down, the server came to take our order 3 times. When I politely asked them to give us a couple more minutes as we were deciding what to order on the third time, the server scoffed at us and gave us a glare that made us extremely uncomfortable. At this time, there were only 3 other tables of customers so it wasn't like they were running out of tables. So if you want solid Korean food and don't care about service, this is the place, but note there's tons of other Korean restaurants with great food and service nearby on El Camino.

Again, always the BEST Korean food, and the service was excellent! The Pork Bulgoki and the Beef Bulgoki were so tender and flavorful! Without a doubt, the best in the south bay. All the banchan was fresh and tasty too. And the atmosphere reminds me of a cozy little restaurant I used to frequent in Daegu Korea.I highly recommend Shu's. You will not be disappointed.

eating here was like visiting grandmas house.food was decent and left me satisfied. service was okay, they didn't refill waters though. we ordered the bulgogi and i would rate it a 5/10. it was just lacking flavor, if the onions were caramelized it would've been much better.we also ordered the fried dumplings and i loved them, you can tell they were handmade. i would rate it an 9/10.the third dish we ordered was the kimchi bibimbab. all honestly, i didn't really like it. my friend said the kimchi was a bad type of sour. 5/10the last dish we ordered was the kimchi fried rice. i am going to give it a 8/10 because the flavor was there and i liked it. the reason why it's not getting a 10/10 is because the rice was soggy.the restaurant looks family owned so im glad i got a chance to try them.when it was time to pay, that was where things got a little weird. my friend tipped $5 but the owner said that $5 is too little .. oh?? rubbed us both the wrong way. they didn't check up on us while we were eating and didn't refill our waters so i would say a $5 tip is reasonable.personally i wouldn't come back but they are really nice people and if you are looking for a home cooked meal, this is the place to go.

Delicious food!! My toddler and I shared a bim bim bap and we were both very pleased! The banchan small plates were so good that my 3 year old ate all the cucumbers. The wait staff was kind and helpful. We'll be back!

Some friends took us to this place. It was a nice clean place. Simple decorations adorning the walls. The server was sweet. She showed us how to eatSsam Bab: Rice, grilled pork and grilled beef & soy bean paste rolled in lettuce. Grab the perilla leaf and tear off the steam. Grab a red leaf lettuce leaf and tear off the harder bottom part and discard. Then, stack on top of one another, add a little steamed rice, fermented soybean paste, add your grilled beef, grilled pork, Jalapeño, and raw garlic piece. Aftwards, wrap it up and place in your mouth! She was sweet. Even scolded us in Korean! Of the grilled meats, I preferred the pork as it had some fat in it, so it was more moist. The grilled beef was dry.Hae Mul Pa Jeon: Seafood scallion pancake. This had a nice crispy edge to it. Filled with green onions and Octopus and shrimp pieces. Go Gi Dol Sot Bi Bim Bab: Rice mixed with beef, fried egg, & vegetables in a hot stone bowl. Personally, I am not a big fan of this but my wife likes it.Japchae Noodles were decent. The banchan that came with the meal was ok. The pickled cucumbers were crunchy and refreshing. The Korean mung bean jelly came in thick cuts!We ordered a lot of food and had plenty of leftovers. Good place without the long line of people, like Seorai.

Overall a comfort korean restaurant. It gives of home cooked korean meals vibe with homey side dishes as wellOur table got the Ssam Bab which is a platter of veggies to wrap with meat. Lots of veggies and meat isn't as much so you can order an extra meat dish to wrap with it. It also comes with a tofu soupLots of good side dishes so definitely good to eat. Parking might be a lil hard and very cramped but the neighborhood down the street has plenty of parking. The servers are your typical Korean ladies who like to mom you so be aware of that. Note: if you're not used to it, it might come off as rude in some cultures. Lots of seating overall, meant for big parties.

I did not appreciate the cashier asking for the tip when I was paying . I usually leave a tip on the table and that was what I was going to do , but the cashier asked me where was the 11% tip on the receipt? I told her I was going to leave it on the table, but I didn't appreciate how she mandated a tip . Why did she wanted on the receipt? For them to keep it and not give it to the servers ? Instead i walked out of the restaurant and the cashier went after me yelling "where is the tip ? ! You lied to me ! " I didnt appreciate this type of service . In California it's not mandatory living a tip, but I do it anyway based on a restaurant's service . Not recommending this place it all. Unless you want a crazy lady running after you for her tip.

This is my first time here. Came Saturday afternoon 1pm, parked at the back of the building. We ordered Ginseng chicken soup and beef/seafood combination tofu soup. Ginseng chicken soup is actually a ginseng chicken rice soup, home made taste. The soup doesn't have much taste. You suppose to add the salt on your own. Tofu soup is very delicious, not too salty, filled with lots of frozen seafood and small beef chunks. Side dishes are delicious. All dishes are NOT heavy tasted. Which is what I like. Some people can feel too blend. But I think the dishes tasted healthier and I like the home made taste. I will come back to try other dishes.
