Shiki Japanese Restaurant

I've been to this Shiki (there are a few of them around) several times and every time it's the perfect sushi experience. Today I was out and about doing chores when my stomach growled. I popped into a few other restaurants, but nothing sounded good. Along came Shiki (is that a song??). I sat at the sushi bar and ordered a lunch special. Love that they offer the special on the weekends too!! The special comes with salad, miso soup and your choice of rolls from two columns. Sorry, I was too hungry to remember to take photos. Anyway, I ordered the spicy tuna roll and salmon. Some places give you two pieces of each, but not Shiki! That platter was loaded. I rolled out of the restaurant after stuffing my mouth with oversized bites of amazing and flavorful fish bits!! As always, the service was incredible. I feel like a princess every time I come here. Be still my heart!! You can feel the love the moment you walk through the door. If you're hungry and thirsty for some great sushi at a delightful price, coupled with hot tea to quench that thirst, Shiki has you covered.

Shiki offers a decent chicken katsu. The portion size was good, and the chicken was cooked properly - crispy breading and juicy meat. The accompanying sauce was flavorful, though perhaps a little standard. The rice and miso soup were fine, but nothing memorable. While I enjoyed my meal, it didn't leave a lasting impression. My companion got a lunch roll that was similar - good, not great. It's a solid option for a casual Japanese meal, but I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way for it. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4!

Food is so and yummy and the service is friendly. I like their veggie tempura, lion and CA rolls.

I love this place! It's my go-to sushi restaurant, I just wished they delivered to where I live so I could eat it more often, lol.

Ok I've ordered food here 3x times now. It's been good every single time! I do love all the fried stuff so that's what I usually order! Deep fried CA roll, chicken katsu, tempura.. yum. It's great that I'm able to place my order online and it's ready by the time I get there. One time I did order to pick up at a certain time and my order was ready almost 20 mins early. I have not had the opportunity to dine in, but there's always a good amount of people in there and staff seems to be very attentive! Looking forward to trying other things on the menu.

I went back today for lunch since I was in the area again. This time I ordered the 2-item bento lunch box, and chose teriyaki beef and nigiri sushi. It came with miso soup, salad, rice, and a slice of orange. The beef was a bit tough for rib eye steak and the portion is quite small. I suppose it makes sense given the $14.50 that they charge you for the lunch bento box. The nigiri sushi consisted of 1 piece of salmon nigiri sushi and 1 piece of tuna nigiri sushi, which were both good. There were 2 waitresses today comparing to 1 waitress 2 days ago, and both waitresses today were much more efficient than the one 2 days ago so I got my hot tea refilled twice and my order taken much quicker.

Why is the restaurant always expecting to add tips when ordering for pick up.I felt as the waiter was not very happy when I picked up my foods n not adding tips to my bill.Does restaurant know the price they charged on my orders was already outrageous

Love their lunch specials! Good prices and portions. Good fast service. Always come here for my lunch breaks

Consistently good food and friendly staff. A little busy so service is sometimes slow.
