We had an incredible experience. The spicy miso was delicious, and the servers were very kind, always checking on us. The ambiance was also super relaxing.

Was craving hot pot and decided on this place based off the review vs star ratio. Got right in before the dinner rush and service was really quick and friendly. The server was able to explain the menu super well to us when we found it a little confusing. He's also super attentive throughout the whole dining experience. Each meat entree comes with a variety of sides, kind of like a sampler set of all the vegetables, and then your choice of rice or vermicelli. This is by far the best broth that I've had for tonkatsu and sukiyaki. By far much more flavorful than shabuya. The meat quality was very good for the lean beef and the pork. I actually preferred these pork slices over the typical pork belly at hot pot places, much less fatty. The sauce and Goma dare were very very good. Overall solid and positive experience! At most, I wish we got more slices of carrots but I could've ordered them if I wanted to pay more. Ambiance is not chaotic at all except there seems to be a karaoke place underneath that makes your seat vibrate?? I don't mind but it's silly.

As someone who has explored many different hot pot restaurants, Shabu Time definitely stands out for me!!!Initially I wasn't even that hungry, but the food kept tasting yummier and yummier! We got the Tom Yum and Non Spicy Tonkotsu broth. The Tom Yum is not really spicy at all, and it interestingly is a lot more sweet than usual Tom Yums. The Tonkotsu was nice. The meats were all sooo yummy though!! I could tell the quality is real good and everything just tasted so fresh and distinct!ALSO THAT SHACK SAUCE... it's very yummy I would definitely try it. 50 cents for a pretty large portion of yummy sauce that goes on literally everything. mhm perfectBut the real reason I am leaving this review.. is because of the MATCHA TIRAMISU!!! Honestly I just wanted something sweet after all this savoriness, but this cake was SO. GOOD. I was really not expecting it at all. The cake itself is really light with a subtle yet nice coffee flavor.. The matcha is not too overpowering. There's a sweet matcha-like cream going on too. BUT MOST SURPRISINGLY... I think there's some sort of matcha shaved ice on the top? It was really hard to break into so me and my sister were so confused lol BUT IT WAS SO GOOD! ESP AFTER HOT SOUP! And it's not too cold!! The perfect topping I didn't know I needed! Overall a very nice gentle light desert. We ate it so fast that we couldn't take a good picture lol. Also, the service was super friendly and surprisingly quick considering how busy/crowded the place was! Our food came out fasssttt. Thank u Shabu Time!

Shabu Time, I love you!!! I am a hotpot, shabu-shabu addict, and Shabu Time did not disappoint. It's a smaller, cozier spot so I would keep that in mind for larger parties. My favorite part of Shabu Time are their soup bases. A good soup base is something I always look for at hotpot spots, and Shabu Time has some of the best I've tried. I've had the Tom Yum and Spicy Miso and they are my favorite, soooo good! Both are so flavorful and savory, it just makes everything in the pot taste so much better. For meats, my favorites are the Toro Beef Belly and American Kobe Beef. Meat quality here is also super good! I've also had their Dynamite Mussels and Spicy Garlic Edamame, both great apps to start with! They also have hot drops to add to your soup bases and sauces which I love to add with mine. The service was great all the times I've been, everyone is so friendly and ready to make recommendations. They get pretty busy on the weekends and had a waitlist the times I've been, so look out for that! Shabu Time, you might be my fav hotpot spot right now :)

Perfect non-AYCE shabu shabu in the heart of Japantown, San Jose. Nice little place with friend and attentive service. The food is good, the meats and the veggies are fresh. We opted for the medium size of meat and that was plenty. I come up and get my tattoo at the shop a block up and been wanting to try Shabu Time for a while now. May have to stop in again when I fly up from LA for my next session.

My favorite hot pot place in the Bay Area for Ala Carte! We usually come here on Sunday nights and there isn't a wait.We always get toro beef and it's the perfect cut. It's soft and melts in your mouth. They recently added the kimchi and kimchi miso as seasonal broth flavors. We've only tried the kimchi miso, and it was really good! It was tangy and sour while maintaining the miso taste. I'll definitely be returning to try the kimchi broth. I also liked how the staff here are attentive and always checking in on us. It's definitely a nice cute place in DTSJ to eat hot pot.

The restaurant has a bustling and energetic vibe, but the noise level can be high due to limited sound barriers.Friendly and attentive staff made for a positive experience. The spicy miso broth stood out as a highlight, while the tonkatsu broth was a bit underwhelming without added spice. The entrees and appetizers were enjoyable, particularly the spicy dumplings and garlic edamame.Long wait times and limited parking could make this spot tricky during peak hours, so calling ahead to the waitlist is highly recommended.A great spot for flavorful food and lively energy, especially for small groups--just come prepared for a wait and parking challenges.

Good bang for your buck hotpot. The service was great and parking wasn't too troublesome on a weekday. We ordered: - Large beef toro- Medium Kobe beef - Seasonal kimchi soup- Sukiyaki- Fish ball with roe- UdonVery good portion size for the price. We came in very hungry, and still have a bunch for leftovers. I would definitely just get two smalls next time or at least a small or medium portion for the meat. Sukiyaki was great, but the kimchi was okay. Nothing special. I just wish they had more options for veggies. Kobe beef had some thin slices that it fell apart as soon as we dipped it in the soup. The quality of cut was great though. It was pretty humid inside the restaurant itself, that I thought they had little ventilation? The steam from the pots were accumulating and it didn't seem like they had a fan to circulate the air. Otherwise, pretty solid place for hotpot.
